Thank you to the club for inviting me to judge at your lovely, friendly show, in such a lovely setting nestled under the trees on a lovely hot sunny day. It is always an honour to judge a club show and thank you for the gifts. It is many years since I have shown my PRTs but still retain a keen interest in them, having had dogs from hunt kennels as well as show line for many years. Hopefully my placings reflected what I believe to be a workmanlike and lithe terrier. It was lovely to hear applause for all the dogs from ringside

Baby Puppy Dog (1, 0)

1. BELLVALLEY ROOSTER Nice youngster to start the day with. Very smart and balanced outline with excellent topline and underline. Masculine head developing well, perhaps would prefer little less length to muzzle but very young and head still breaking. Good tail set and jacket, moved out very well so one so young. Spannable but carrying rather a lot of weight. Best Baby puppy

Baby Puppy Bitch (2, 0)

1. HALSHIMOOR HIGHLIGHT OF ALNCROFT NAF TAF Preferred the head on this exhibit, excellent ears, nice dark keen eye. Liked her neck and shoulders, good topline with slight arch. Prefer a tad more hind angulation. Tail set good and held nicely on the move. Needs to settle in movement and when she settles into her frame and brain should have a bright future. Had a better jacket than 2,

2. VIXENVIEW BLIZZARD Lots to like on this young lass, more controlled on the move than winner. Expressive head, although perhaps a little cheeky atm. Super neck and shoulders, nice balanced outline. Would prefer a little more thickness to root of tail but good set and held nicely.

Veteran Dog (1, 0)

1. CH RIPLINGTON SEE YOUR DREAMS Nicely balanced, very fit veteran in super jacket. Liked his head, good ear sets, good eye shape and size. Excellent fore chest and shoulder placement. Neat feet, good straight bone in front and lovely topline. For me a tad oversized and over angulated in rear, but still a quality dog. Moved out really well in all directions belying his years

Minor Puppy Dog (1, 0)

1. CASSJOBEAR ROUGH DIAMOND Very nice puppy and well-schooled and handled. Attentive keen expression, lovely neck flowing into clean shoulders, perhaps would prefer a tad more return of arm but still settling into his frame. Nice straight front, balanced hindquarters, good tail set and carriage. Very self-assured on the move with clean flowing profile movement Fit and has a good harsh jacket. Best Puppy Dog and reserve best puppy in show

Puppy Dog (2, 1)

1. RUFFNTUFF TOPGEAR TOMMI Very nice ten-month puppy with everything of balanced proportions. Good wedge-shaped head, strong dentition, nice v shaped ears and good thickness. Clean neck, good bone, well set shoulders. Strong firm topline, with his ribs carried well back. Balanced hindquarters, tail held well. Moved well, excellent hind movement, still a little age-related looseness in front. Would just have preferred to have seen a little more athleticism from him

JUNIOR DOG (1, 1)

YEARLING DOG (2, 0)

1. HEYTHROP TEMPURA Very typy and fit youngster, with everything in balanced proportions. Has a keen and alert expression, super eyes and ear carriage. Great neck with good crest, lovely front, excellent topline and moved out very nicely in all directions

2. FOXFUR ESPIONAGE FOR ROOZINA JW Another dog in good fit condition and super jacket. Would prefer slightly less length to muzzle, attentive and keen expression, good neck and shoulders, ribbed well back, prefer more width to tail base and slightly stronger hindquarters. Agile and clean profile action.

LIMIT DOG (3, 2)

1. CROSSCOP CLAUDIUS AT MINDLEN Presented in beautiful jacket and condition. Masculine head, dark eye, good cheek, clean neck and shoulders, needs to strengthen slightly in pasterns, well ribbed back, would prefer slightly less length of body, excellent hindquarters, good tail set and thickness of root.

OPEN DOG (4, 0)

1. BELLVALLEY BLACKHAWK OF ALNCROFT What a lovely young lad, super head, clean lines throughout. Easily spannable, lovely straight front, excellent tight feet, stands over the ground well. Excellent pelt and presented in A1 condition. At only 18 months still has lots to come, but you could not deny this lad his class, best dog and best in show. I’m sure his crown is not far away.

2. PACOLITO PHIRST EDIT Lots to like on this quality lad albeit a very different type. He gave his handler a hard time today. Liked him for his masculinity, and balance. Nice, keen expression and dark eye with excellent wedge head. Had clean shoulders and preferred his return of arm than winner. Ribbed well back, excellent topline. Moved out well

VETERAN BITCH (4, 1)

1. HEYTHROP TANGLETOP Lovely balance to this non exaggerated and fit lass. Expressive feminine head, super neck and crest of neck, finer in body than 2, but nicely proportioned. Neat feet. Easily spannable, once settled moved out with purpose and drive. Best Veteran in Show

2. CH MINDLEN MOCCASIN Quality typy bitch, with excellent proportions. Loved her head, nice dark eye and typical wedge head. A little stuffier in neck than winner and lack slight arch to loin. Good bone and straight front. Excellent tail set and thickness. Moved out well but favouring slightly today

MINOR PUPPY BITCH (1, 0)

1. RODZINA REMEMBER ALICE At just six months this is a beautifully balanced puppy, who showed herself with exuberance and style. Pretty wedge head, dark eye and very alert expression, good infill in front for age, good bone. Easily spannable. Excellent jacket and tail set. Excelled in her free striding movement. Best Puppy and I look forward to watching her progress with interest.

PUPPY BITCH (2, 0)

1. WAYWARD DOT YOU 11-month youngster of nice body proportions. Expressive and kind expression to head, good dark eye, excellent ears, nice straight front and in fill. A tad long in second thigh, but moved herself around the ring with ease

2. PROVETIS VELVET ROSE Rather unsettled today. Pretty head, good clean jacket, ears set well, clean neck and shoulders. Needs a little more length to balance her out. Would just prefer to see a little more of her, but still young. Not happy on the move today.

JUNIOR BITCH (1 1)

POSTGRADUATE (3, 1)

1. GONETOGROUND PALLAS ATHENA Pleasing three-year-old, with nothing exaggerated. Could have a harsher jacker, preferred her overall balance, clean neck and shoulders to second. Moved out well Nice short hocks.

2. AULDTOBY LIFE ON MARS Feminine lass, nice head shape and good dark eye. Lower on leg than winner and would prefer stronger pasterns. Good harsh coat, easily spannable. Good topline and nice rise over loin.

LIMIT (3, 0)

1. BARDRAINS LADY OF CHADBROOK Easy class winner. Very feminine, good balanced proportions and easy to span. Keen alert eye, super ears, excellent infill in front and nice straight bone and neat feet. Could carry a tad less weight to enhance picture. She excels in her musculature. Has lovely flow to her movement and holds her topline well on the move

2. DRAYTOGO VIENNA Balanced proportions, and in good jacket and condition. Rather a hot day, so maybe this affected her being a little flat in topline, and weaker in pasterns than winner. Moved out well enough, especially sound fore and aft.

3. DIGADEN MISS MARIGOLD

OPEN (9, 3)

1. HEYTHROP TARANNA This bitch appealed for her type, athleticism and soundness. Nicely balanced classic and expressive head. Loved her heart appealing eyes! Has good ear leathers. Has nice return of arm, good bone and neat feet. Strong topline, Excellent musculature , good hindquarters. Moved out well in all directions. Best bitch and RBIS

2. HEYTHROP TOPSY TURVY Lots to like here and put down in good hard condition. Preferred her front to winner, well ribbed back, super hindquarters. Not so settled on the move as kennel mate today but once going nice free action.
