Driffield Championship Dog Show

Breed: Large Munsterlander

Driffield Golden Anniversary Championship Dog Show Society. (No CC’s)

Thank you to the society for their kind invitation to judge Large Munsterlanders.

Thank you to my steward for keeping things in order throughout. My appreciation goes to you.

All bites were correct, but throughout the entries, it was noticeable that she was several which had weaker first and second thighs which in turn, gave them a weak drive from the rear, with hocks dropping in on the move and the appearance of cow hocks.

1. Mrs J Jenks. Abadhu Force Be With You.

I loved the head on this male, masculine, with gentle expressive eyes. Correct rise from muzzle stop to back of skull. Very good line down throat to forechest, very good lay of shoulder, depth of chest is perfect bringing elbows under him. Very good top line and underline, giving a good outline in body. Coat covering him well. Correct tailset off good croup angle. Very good turn of stifle giving him good drive from the rear. RBD

1. Mrs k Pilkington. Albadhu Playing With Fire at Baycross JW

This dog did not hold the overall substance of 1 but stood freely four square, balanced skull with good reach in the muzzle, strong neck. Very good shoulder angulation on front construction, enough bone. A little longer in body than 2 but looks balanced, very good bend of stifle, with good length hocks. Shorter coat. Moved well in good fashion.

2. Mrs A & Mr M Bates Mrs K Pilkington. Crumpsbrook Hendrick.

Did not have the width of skull as 1, nevertheless it is balanced, good eye placement and set on of ear. Very good depth in chest, well feathered coat, lay of shoulder could have benefitted from more upper arm length. Held his front legs forward. Depth of chest, top line and ribbing all good. Good feathering around ears and chest. Very good angle of croup. Covered the ground ok in good stride.

1. Miss S James. Darkensky Supremacy

Very pleasing head with an alert expression at one with his handler. Excellent reach of neck with good muscle, excellent front angulation in shoulder, good depth of chest, and a good line from elbow up to the loin. Enough coat. No extra weight on this dog. Very good bend of stifle with excellent developed thigh. He moved a bit too close in the rear, well covered tail held rather high on the move. Handled with excellence. Moved ok.

1. Dr R Suchett-Kaye. Bosko Vom Ahler Esch With Settskaye (IMP) DEU

A good shape and balance of a masculine head, length of muzzle to skull in good balance with good width. Good reach of neck with a good muscled arch, clean throat down to a good forechest with excellent lay of shoulder and elbows tucked in neatly. Depth of chest is excellent down to the elbow, well ribbed up to his tummy. Very good top line and very good angle of croup. Excellent depth in thighs. Good depth in the coat with good feathering up front and the rear. On the move, he moved well in front and rear with a good spring in his step rather than just running. Was presented to me very well. 1. Mrs K Caile. Kamaze’s Dancing Queen

This bitch overall has more substance than 1, wonderful feminine head which was very balanced and has a kind expression. Good reach of neck, clean throat, good depth of brisket. Elbows tucked in neatly, sprung ribs, underline very good, no excess weight around the loin. Very good bend of stifle, lesser second thigh.

Neat feet and tight toes. Moved very well from the rear and a good straight line toward me.

2. Mrs H & Mrs J Stanford & Bargman. Crumpsbrook Mariet. Head cast very much the same as 1 with nothing to better the other. Very much like 1, a little shorter in upper arm than preferred, Good length in the body with a well developed thigh and good short hock. Excellent croup angle and set on of tail. 2 females very much alike, both with good qualities.

Very pretty head balanced in length and width. Good reach of neck and clean around the throat, down to a good forechest. Good angulation in shoulders with good return of upper arm. Excellent depth of chest making for a strong looking front. Well sprung ribs up to a good weight in the loin. Strong muscles across the back, good top line and developed first and second thigh. Flowing movement which caught my eye. Shorter in body than 1

Excellent and eye catching outline of this female, Pretty expression with a gentle stop up through to the skull. Good width in the muzzle and length skull and ears placed correctly. Super lay of shoulder above good straight legs with good tight toes. Excellent depth of chest with a good coat covering. Ribs flowed up to a correct weighted tummy. Strong back and correct top line flowing gently to the croup. Not carrying any extra weight Excellent depth of thighs and length of hocks with good bend of stifle.
