My first time awarding CCs in this breed and what a joy it was. Classes were full of quality. I was looking for dogs that were not overdone, full of breed type and had correct construction so could do a day’s work in the field, correct movement would usually be a deciding factor, so handlers that could get their dogs to show reach and drive often clinched tight class decisions. I would like to thank the committee for the invite and the exhibitors for the lovely atmosphere around the ring and the way in which they accepted my decisions. These decisions are listed below and where appropriate with my reasoning.

1ST 4337 - Willowthorn Dream Gazer JW ShCM ShCEx OSW VW (Mr R, Miss G & Miss W Johnson, Jacobs & Johnson) Lovely way to start the day with 2 excellent veterans. 9year old who was so well presented, loved his balance of size and substance, super head with correct length of muzzle and strong underjaw, eyes of good shape gave pleasing expression, used well set ears well, good arch of neck to well laid front, super topline, straight in back with lovely sweep over loin, good turn of stifle, would have liked a tad more width to going away movement, very correct in profile showed reach and drive, considered for top honours. 2ND 4332 - Shougies Starmaker at Suthesley (Mrs L Sutherland)

7 ½ year old of good quality, has the required sweet expression and correct wedge to head used ears really well, well-constructed front and back with a good topline, in balance but just lost out in substance to 1, moved well, little wide going but showed nice extension.

1ST 4266 - Lianbray Launcelot (Mrs G Bray)

8month who presented so well for his age, coat in lovely condition already with plenty of frill. Loved his expression, focussed yet still sweet, a very good eye and well-set tipped ears, good muzzle proportions and well-set underjaw. Had well angled front, width of chest should fill out as he matures to straighten front, a correct topline, well set tail and correct angle of stifle meant he moved well out and back and in profile. 2ND 4301 - Amethrickehs Illusionist at Santiara (Mrs D P Moore) 6 month baby who was appeared very happy to be at the show, lovely expression, correct in head proportions and good underjaw, good eye and well set ears, plenty of neck to a front that was held straight and well angled, straight in back just a bit up over loin atm but should settle in time. Little steppy in front movement but clean on rear.

1ST 4300 - Valdosta Je Amour (Miss A Mitchell) winner of a nice class of promising juniors, this 15m just shaded it, a good typy expression from correct muzzle, well- shaped dark eyes and excellent ears, good arch to neck led to a very well angled front with plenty of lay, front legs of proportionate bone held straight with good angle to pasterns, liked his ribbing, good topline and sweep over loin to lovely turn of stifle enabled him to move steadily correctly and cleanly.

2ND 4335 - Cuilshelties Touch of Class with Grandgenes (Mrs S J Walker) 12 month old, well presented, beautifully four square and straight in front, good in head, strong underjaw and his flecked eyes were well-shaped, I could take just a tad more stop, good in ear, just a fraction up in front angle atm, lovely topline sweep, plenty of bone on this boy for his size, moved with purpose, steady and correct.

1ST 4340 - Evad Halloween Tzar JW (Mrs D K Weller)

18 m, who I liked for his size and has just enough bone to balance , well wedged head with good dark eye, thought his ears a little big but well set, lovely neck to good well laid shoulders, ok for width of chest, good topline and tail of good length, moved clean and steady to pip his brother today.

2ND 4273 - Evad Halloween King at Lynscot (Mrs L Fagg)

Litter brother of 1st a tad finer in muzzle than 1 but a very sweet expression with correct underjaw and enough stop, nice dark eye good in top skull and ear use, plenty of frill covered a well angled front, just needs a tad more width to chest as holds front right a little out, very level in back and nice turn of stifle, moved clean on the rear and steady in profile.

2ND 4323 - Prince of Sunlight Four Beasts in One (Imp Hun) (Mrs A L Smith)

A lot to like about this boy, clean head in good proportion, good bite, eyes and underjaw, flat top skull, plenty of neck, angles OK, plenty of foreleg, holds his topline, coat very well prepared, he was a little splayed on rear and for me I found him a little overdone throughout. He moved soundly but just lost his balance a bit in profile today.

1ST 4329 - Shemist Summertime Blue's (Mrs S Stock)

4year old, very nice type, clean in muzzle in excellent proportion to his flat skull, enough underjaw, very correct in stop, well-shaped eyes, good ears, liked his angles, front covered in abundant frill, plenty of bone for his size, held a good topline, his steady correct movement showing some good reach and drive tipped the odds in his favour in this class.

2ND 4276 - Navy Blue of Most Majestic at Dacfolke (Imp Hun) JW (Mrs C Folkes)

Another very well constructed merle, typy with a great head and super ears, not quite the size of 1 but still in proportion, nice and straight in foreleg standing on excellent feet, held a good topline, good length to tail, little closer than 1 going out but clean and steady in profile, close call.

2 year old who I liked a lot, taking a good class today, well presented, plenty of coat and frill, well wedged head, straight in muzzle, correct stop and excellent dark well shaped eye and super ears, well put together in frame, plenty of lay and bone for size, super topline and sweep over loin and well ribbed, cracking turn of stifle and well held hocks to very good feet, moving out I would have preferred a bit more width but he excelled in profile to take the class.

2ND 4283 - Sundark Scaramouche (Mrs S Hirst)

3-year-old who pushed 1 very close, alert and upstanding, very good type, muzzle in proportion to flat topskull, loved the way he used his ears, well angled front and rear and held a good topline on the move, moved clean showing some drive.

1ST 4313 - Ch/nor/se/fin Ch Lavika Moonlight Storm JW (re-Imp) (Miss K Robinson)

A cracking class of quality throughout won by this 4 year old who presented so well, plenty of substance but not overdone, so well balanced and four square, loved his expression, male but still retaining the sweetness required, straight in muzzle, underjaw could be a tad stronger but bite correct, good stop, dark well shaped eye and super ears used well, well arched neck to good well laid shoulders, forelegs held perfectly under withers, well off for bone and correct in pasterns, super level back that was well ribbed with correct sweep over croup, good angle of stifle. This boy excelled on the move, looked like he could work all day as he covered the ground easily with reach and drive. DCC BOS.

2ND 4331 - Shelcrest Winter Solstice at Suthesley JW (Mrs L Sutherland)

A 5-year-old who also impressed me with his super type and balance, so well proportioned and bone to match his substance. Presented well in good coat, loved his head, such a good expression with correct underjaw, stop and well-shaped dark eyes, knows how to use his ears to advantage, holds a good topline and is strong over his rear, moved cleanly showing good reach, pushed 1 close today so happy to award him the RDCC.

1ST 4270 - Blarney Black Magic (Ms Y Curtin) Very pretty 5-year-old female who showed very well, impressed with her proportions. Good strong muzzle and plenty of stop, excellent ear set and tip, Very well arched neck to well angled front, forelegs held straight, level in back and good length to tail. Moved cleanly and steadily showing some reach and drive. BSB.

2ND 4287 - Kishdigra An Irish Blessing for Clairavelle (IKC) (Miss M D Jackson) 19months female who also had a lot going for her, good in size and proportions, lovely sweet expression, very attentive, good wedge shape to head and enough underjaw, lovely eye and enough stop, with well tipped ears to complete a very pleasing head, front upper arm angle just a tad up at the moment and could have held her front straighter, which tipped the scales in favour of 1 in this class as she held a lovely topline and moved well all round.

1ST 4271 - Ballynerrin Moonstar (P C Curtin) 8 year old, who had a lovely happy expression, excellent pigmentation to lips, super straight in muzzle with good depth and strong underjaw, correct stop and well tipped and sized ears, plenty of arch to neck to well laid shoulder, held front very straight, well bodied, level topline which she held on the move. Showed well, clean going out and showed some nice reach and drive. Considered in the line-up.

2ND 4284 - Sundark Simply A Star VW (Mrs S Hirst) At 12 years this lady hasn’t lost her looks, a little very pretty head in good proportion, clear dark eye, held well tipped ears upright, well angled front, enough bone for size, topline OK and lovely sweep over croup. Moved soundly and clean.

1ST 4341 - Edglonian Dolly Mixture at Corimist (Miss N & Ms J Whelan & Young) 8m who has a good structure to grow into. Good size and proportion to head, clean and straight in muzzle, lovely dark well shaped eye, little more stop to flat topskull, ears held well. Was a little unsteady on the table today but angles were correct, she held a good topline. Moved clean going, just a little up stepping in profile.

2ND 4298 - Savendie Highland Lullaby (Miss L Mettan-Ure) A very nice 7m, who was shown to advantage, good in head, sweet expression, lovely dark eye, underjaw and bite OK, good ears and plenty of neck, just a tad up in upper arm atm, nice width to chest and well ribbed for her age, little up over loin atm, moved cleanly out as 1 a little high stepping in profile as babies often do.

1ST 4318 - Cocaro The Enchantress (Mrs C & Mr C Rossiter) This very pretty 10-month-old was the winner of this lovely class. Really liked her type and size in very good balance and proportion throughout and already with a good coat prepared to advantage. Lovely head well pigmented tight lips and very good shape to her dark eyes give a very pleasing expression. Well arched neck to well laid front and held nicely boned forelegs straight on good feet. Held a good topline with good sweep over loin through coup to well set tail, She shone on the move, clean going and already showing some nice reach. BPB, BP.

2ND 4281 - Mohnesee Ria'ly A Dream (Mrs K E Hateley) Another super 10-month puppy, loved her shape and proportions, well wedged head with plenty of stop and flat-top skull using her ears well, well laid shoulder which was replicated in stifle creating a very level topline, she moved cleanly out with correct footfall in profile.

1ST 4327 - Macstanryn Rainbow Blu (Mrs S Standlick) 14 month who stood alone in this class today, nice size and balanced through, muzzle good and well-shaped eyes and ears, top skull could be a tad flatter, had just enough neck to an OK lay of shoulder, held her front nice and straight with good width to chest, a good topline, moved cleanly and steadily just needed her to push on a little.

1ST 4297 - Oakcroft Graceful Star over Savendie JW (Miss L Mettan-Ure) Another good class won today by this very pretty 20month old, lovely head of good type, clean well pigmented lips and well-shaped eye gave a sweet framing to her foreface, well-proportioned muzzle to top skull and enough stop, well-spaced and sized ears used well. Really good in neck, well laid and held a lovely topline. Showed well clean going with some nice drive.

2ND 4342 - Oakcroft Amazing Star (Mrs V Winfield). Litter sister to 1 and another really pretty female who stands well with an attentive expression, I could take a tad more underjaw, bite is correct and super in eyes and ears, well coated, good neck to good front held straight, loved her topline and plenty of angle of stifle and straight hocks, moved out cleanly, steady in profile without opening up to full potential.

1ST 4280 - Shekar Blue Elegance (Mr D G & Mrs Y L Haensel) A 2-year-old of correct size, well proportioned, liked her pretty and joyful expression, good clean muzzle, enough stop, well used ears, good lay to shoulder and held forelegs straight, ribs OK, held topline well, moved cleanly with correct efficiency.

2ND 4310 - Jaelis Mystique Realism (Mrs A & Mr M Ritchie) 10-month-old who was also 3rd in a good puppy class. Very pretty expression, with well-shaped dark eye, well-shaped muzzle clean and rounded, very good ear set, enough neck to an OK front, could take a tad more length to front foreleg to balance and up a bit over loin at the moment, moved well, still a little steppy in front, clean going.

2ND 4320 - Molson More About Me at Cocaro (Mrs C & Mr C Rossiter) Such a pretty 2 year old, well wedged head in good proportion of muzzle to top skull, excellent dark eyes and well-shaped ears, held a correct straight front, well laid shoulder, top line held level with well set tail, clean out but preferred profile movement of 1.

1ST 4314 - Dippersmoor Dazzling Star JW (Mrs S Robinson) Very well presented 2 years old, loved her expression, pretty yet focussed and attentive, super in muzzle clean to good stop, lovely dark almond eyes, well-spaced tipped ears, good in neck to well angled front covered in plenty of frill, held a super level topline with correct sweep over loin, tail set OK and just long enough, plenty of stifle angle. Moved out cleanly and so well in profile showing plenty of reach and drive covering the ground so well. Pleased to award her the RCC.

2ND 4282 - Mohnesee's Meliya JW (Mrs K E Hateley) Quality 3-year-old rich in markings and well presented. She was so well proportioned in head and body, strong under jaw, good straight muzzle to plenty of stop, well-shaped dark eyes gave a pretty yet soulful expression, well set ears, lovely arch and reach of neck, held her forelegs straight could take a fraction more lay of shoulder, held an excellent topline, well set tail. Moved well clean and showed good reach and drive to push 1 very close.

2049. Shetland Sheepdog - Open Bitch

1ST 4317 - Ch Lavika Lateca (Mrs S Robinson) This stunning 4-year-old sable girl stole my heart today, beautifully presented in excellent coat. Such a pretty expression through a strong straight muzzle with correct underjaw and pigment, well-shaped dark eyes, correct angle of stop to flat top skull with well-spaced correctly sized ears that she used well, reach of well arched neck to a well laid shoulder. Held her forelegs straight, with correct angle of pastern and very neat feet, good length to well boned forelegs that she held under her withers, well ribbed and a super topline, super sweep over her strong loin to well angled croup, plenty of angle to stifle well set tail of good length, if this wasn’t enough she moved out so truly, clean going and shown at a pace that emphasised her excellent reach and drive with plenty of extension covering the ground so well. BCC and BOB.

2ND 4311 - Jaelis Mystique Reality JW (Mrs A & Mr M Ritchie) Another quality 4 year old who presented well, very pretty expression strong in underjaw and well wedged head, maybe a tad more stop, super dark eye, flat top skull and excellent ears, plenty of coat in very good condition, has good angles to front but holds her forelegs just a tad forward of withers, lovely angle of paster and good feet, nice level back and good sweep over loin, plenty of tail length, moved out cleanly and was very good in profile just not the extension of 1.
