Dandie Dinmont Terrier, Welsh Kennel Club 2026

A very enjoyable appointment. What a truly lovely breed this is. And they seem to attract lovely owners as well.

Junior Dog (1)

1ST Carnkie Ragged Robin (Miss N S & Mrs S R Jackman)

A very attractive dog, he has come quite a long way for his 12 months. Well proportioned. Lovely head wand expression. Correct length of nose, very good skull. Excellent round and expressive eyes. Beautiful top-knot. Well set and shaped ears. Good neck into shoulder. Typically curvy in his silhouette. Excellent harsh topcoat, and very good undercoat. He still needs to body up some, but his general construction and movement is very good indeed.

Post Graduate Dog (3)

1ST Carnkie Ragged Robin (Miss N S & Mrs S R Jackman)

2ND Fabio Z Meduňkové Stráně (Imp Cze) (Ms Npk & Mr Pe Hoskisson & Hinds)

Masculine dog, quite well proportioned. He has a strong skull. eyes, widely spaced. Strong muzzle. Normal neck and front angulation. He needs quite a lot more shape to his body, his topline being straight. Very good coat. Moved with coordination and light on his feet.

3RD Lenacourt Laird Rannech (Ms Npk & Mr Pe Hoskisson & Hinds)

Limit Dog (2,1)

1ST Kiti’s Band Take The Lead to Torbrae (Imp Cze) Ejw25 (M France)

A very attractive dog indeed, not yet two years old, pepper coloured. He has a very attractive head with excellent skull, great expression from his round dark eyes. Correct length of muzzle. Very pleasing rise of neck. Curvy topline with moderation. Very good double coat. He stood very well over his legs and feet and moved very well too. An excellent representative of his breed and sex. Happy to learn that he qualified for his title with today’s CC.

Open Dog (3)

1ST Ch Mishahda Mischief Managed (Miss S Butcher)

A strong, masculine dog, quite tall dog, covering plenty of ground. Masculine without lumber. Very typical head and pleasing expression from medium sized eyes matching his mustard colour. Excellent nose pigmentation. Long neck, well set. Typical curvy outline with excellent rise over loin, well set tail. Lovely coat making pencils in his topcoat and with an excellent undercoat. He moved very well from all angles. Another excellent representative of his breed and sex and very worthy of his title. ResCC.

2ND Dandiroyal Dashwood (Miss S M Rolland)

Another dog with attractive curves to his outline, but not covering as much ground nor with as much substance. Pleasing head with enough skull, well spaced expressive dark eyes. Long neck, well set. He stood well over his legs and feet and was a good mover too. Pleasing coat. Still no a match for the winner.

3RD Ch Barton Dandies Charles Darnay (Imp Esp) (Mrs B & Mrs B Milton & Kurg)

Special Beginners (1)

1ST Fabio Z Meduňkové Stráně (Imp Cze) (Ms Npk & Mr Pe Hoskisson & Hinds)

Veteran Bitch (1)

1ST Puddockswell My Darling Clementine cum Magellanica (M & E Cavanagh)

Feminine bitch with very pleasing proportions. She has an expressive head from medium sized eyes. I would prefer some more top-knot which would enhance her. Well set neck into shoulder. Could set her front legs more under her. Very good coat quality on body. She moved with sparkle and soundness. Best Veteran.

Junior Bitch

1ST Carnkie Forget Me Not (Mrs A Lloyd-Warrington)

A very feminine bitch who comes alive in movement. She has a well proportioned and feminine head with expressive round eyes. Enough neck, well set. Unexaggerated curves so her topline, well set and carried tail. Very well angulated behind. She moved very soundly from the side as well as from behind. Pleasing top coat, undercoat a little sparse at this moment.

Post Graduate Bitch (2)

1ST Woodfud Silver Star (Miss M J Wilford)

Strong bitch, well constructed, but I would prefer her somewhat more generous in her proportions. Typical head, eyes not the darkest. Strong neck, well set. Very good front. Shapely topline. Strong bone. Well angulated behind. In a good coat of excellent structure. Normal, sound mover.

2ND Diddimont Honey Honey (Mrs A Lloyd-Warrington)

Mustard bitch, feminine, I would prefer her longer and with a more distinct outline. She has an attractive feminine head, dark and expressive eyes. Medium front angulation. Rather straight in topline. Good top coat, but does not have enough undercoat on the day. She moved rather inconsistency and frequently side tracking.

 Limit Bitch (2,1)

1ST Cassencarrie Button Moon (Mrs B Deacon)

A mustard bitch that has such a lovely character and charm, she made me smile. She scores in elegance and femininity, but could be a bit stronger overall. Lovely feminine head and expression from her dark, round and well placed eyes. Pleasing rise of neck. Straight front legs. Standing she has just enough body shape, but she shaped up on the move. A very good mover, light on her feet and well coordinated.

Open Bitch (8,2)

A very good class, still in my eyes the first two stood out.

1ST Ch Woodfud Winters Dream (Miss J & Mrs C Fray & Wilson)

An outstanding pepper bitch with everything the standard calls for. She is strong, well proportioned and shapely. She has a feminine, yet strong head with excellent expression from her round and well spaced eyes. Strong neck, well set into shoulder. Very good front. Curvy topline with a typical arch of loin without exaggeration. Excellent angulation both ends. She moved very well indeed from all angles, sound as a bell and extending equally well in both ends. Very good coat quality, both as for top coat and undercoat. The star of the day. CC & BOB.

2ND Dryfevalley Willow at Carnkie ShCEx (Miss N S & Mrs S R Jackman)

A feminine and very shapely mustard bitch who also moved very well indeed and is instantly very attractive. She covers very good ground. Well shaped, feminine head with excellent expression. Somewhat longish in her muzzle. Long neck, well set. Lovely topline, very shapely. Not yet quite as bodied up as the winner nor quite as well angulated behind. In ship shape condition and very well presented. Her day will come, I am sure. ResCC.
