Beagle Club

Breed: Beagle

The Beagle Club Championship Show - 4th September 2026

I would like to thank the Committee for this prestigious appointment. I would also like to thank the exhibitors for the wonderful entry and their sportsmanship throughout the show.

The quality of the entries in some of the classes was a mixed bag. Bitches were in better in general. I note the breed is experiencing a variation in sizes at the moment. I also noted a problem with pigmentation on some of the entries.

Baby Puppy Dog (2)

1st: Bridgeman & Logue’s, Mr.H. Haggaty Escapade At Kingswin – 4-month-old tri, pretty head yet already showing masculinity and a melting expression, nice neck, good bone, nice topline and tail set. Would have preferred some more length of leg. Moved best in this class.

2nd. Rushford’s Camponfield Statesman – 5-month-old, strong head, too much dewlap and loose skin at the moment, hope he will eventually grow into it. Nice, correct length of leg, well ribbed, good well angulated back-end. Just thought the winner had the edge when it came to movement.

1st. Davies’ Annavah Override By Barrvale - 8 months old, tri boy of quality possessing an excellent head and eye, correct length of neck and well-laid shoulders, nice level topline held perfectly while moving, good tail set, loved his rear angulation—best back-end and movement in this class.

2nd. Woodhouse’ Fallowfield Ruger To Birybarn – only 6 months old, nice head properties with good shoulders and front assembly, he looked a bit long on the day, guess he’s at his lanky stage thus gone out of the desired square frame at this period. Moved well.
