Parson Russell Terrier Club

The Parson Russell Terrier Club Summer Open Show Sunday 12th July 2026 

I would like to extend my thanks to the officers and committee for inviting me to judge at your show, thank you to all the exhibitors. I would also like to express my appreciation to my stewards for their assistance on the day. It was a pleasure to judge all your Parson Russell Terriers. Thank you all for your entries and for the good nature shown in accepting my decisions on the day. 

Class A Junior Handling 6-11 years (1 entry / 0 absent) 

The handler showed good ring awareness and maintained control of her dog. Presentation was neat, with confident stacking on the table and tidy movement in the ring, correcting the movement well, a young competitor who demonstrates the love of the dog and the enjoyment of the ring.  

Class B Junior Handling 12 – 18 years (1 entry / 1 absent)

1st Hughes, Mrs A, Ruffntuff Topgear Tommi 

This 9 month old dog, standing alone today but showing maturity beyond his age, headset correct in shape with a strong muzzle, length of head slightly longer than stop to muzzle with clean stop. Ears are neat, good size, dark eye, almond shape, with keen expression. Fore quarters are developing well, stands true in front, a firm topline and a strong, well set tail. Hind quarters strong and muscular giving good drive with good length. Coat and pelt are good with plenty of texture.  

Class D Special Award Post Graduate (3 entries / 0 absent) 

1st Stone, Mrs C, Auldtoby Life on Mars 

A bitch of 2.5 years old looked workmanlike on entering the ring, headset pleasing and feminine, with balanced proportions, nice V-shaped ears, and a dark, alert eye. Coat in good dense condition. Fore, and hind quarters strong, giving her good drive around the ring with nice free striding movement.  

2nd Shakeshaft, McCluskey & Young, Mrs N, Mr P & Mrs J, Bardrain’s Lady of Chadbrook 

A bitch of just over 2 years old, presenting a correct headset with dark almond shaped eyes, well set ears, and a strong jaw. Fore and hind quarters are sound, good ribbing, a firm loin, and a correct tail. Coat is of good harsh texture. Would like to see a little more drive but is sound at her ground covering. 

3rd Jacob, Mrs S, Goneto ground Pallas Athena 

Class E Special Award Open (5 entries / 1 absent)  

1st Roberts & Murray, Ch Cassjoebar Caledonia from Mindlen  

Another bitch at nearly 2 years old, showing a little more maturity than others, headset is decent nice wedge in good proportions, with small, well set ears, dark almond eye. Clean and muscular neck laid back shoulders and a level topline. Fore and hind quarters show enough angulation, ribbing is good, coat is of excellent texture, harsh and dense. Moves with reach and drive in a straight line, covering the ground well in profile, giving her the edge today. 

2nd Bigland, Mrs L, Heythrop Toptag  

A bitch of over 4 years old, slightly finer than my first but neat, compact, and very typical of the breed, headset of nice wedge with dark eye, small well set ears and a keen expression. Skull is correct; muzzle proportionate, neck leads cleanly into laid‑back shoulders and a level topline, tail well set. Front is straight, hind quarters are nicely made with moderate angulation, good ribbing, and firm loin. Coat is of good texture and well presented.
