My sincere thanks and gratitude go to the Officers and Committee of Border Union for their kind invitation to judge at their Championship show, allowing me to give my first set of Challenge Certificates in my beloved breed Japanese Chin’s. It was such a great honour and I thoroughly enjoyed my day and with their kindness and hospitality that was extended to me during my visit. My excellent stewards did a marvellous job battling with the wind and many thanks to the exhibitors who entered under me with their fantastic sportsmanship throughout. I found some very good class winners from some excellent dogs and happy to say most had wonderful large open nostrils and the desired amount of white of eye for our breeds particular ‘look of astonishment ‘.

1ST Cranvarl Mr Bo Jangles (Mrs L Crane) B/W beautiful 7 month old classic type , ideal for size and bone unfortunately rather apprehensive at the beginning with the wild winds but quickly gained in confidence .Good head with even blaze ,nice breath to skull, high set ears correct eye and expression ,firm compact cobby body ,short loin ,correct tail set and carriage. A very nice pup happy to award him .BPD

2ND Sharlarna Lion Heart for Lafay (Mr A Foynes)6-month-old S/W boy. Stood square with fine strong bone, good body for age with a level top line which he maintained on the move. Good, shaped head with lovely dark wide nostrils that I like to see. Less mature in body and coat than 1 but one to watch for the future.

1ST Cranvarl's Back In Black (Mrs L Crane) B/W 18-month-old with an attractive head. Nice blaze over the correct broad, rounded skull, complemented by lovely large, dark round eyes with desired expression. Well cushioned muzzle with dark open nostrils. Good body with level topline and correct set tail, all contributing to a balanced outline. He moved soundly both coming and going.

2ND Jaschin Headliner (Mr S & Mr J & Mrs A Rooney & Green & Green) 8-month-old B/W with a good skull, nice large dark eye with typical expression and well cushioned muzzle. Shapely and well balanced with good tailset and holding topline on the move. Just not as mature as 1 .

1ST Kassui Meyhem (Miss S Westwick) A very attractive 2 yr old S/W boy with a lovely head and expression with unexaggerated look of astonishment and nicely padded muzzle. Good pigment, black nose with open nostrils. Firm, level topline, good body with a silky, well-presented coat. Would’ve preferred him a bit shorter in loin to give a more cobby outline.

1ST Somergemz Highland Laddie for Adreeam JW (Mr R & Mrs J Potts) 2 yr old B/W very handsome male. Well coated and flowing in super condition, dark eye with perfect look of astonishment and good cushioning. Shapely and cobby body with good width of chest with a high set tail, excellent on the move. He presents a lovely outline both standing and moving.

2ND Holiday Love Goscinska Przystan at Fochai (Miss J Matches) R/W 4-year-old boy with pretty head and expression with large well pigmented dark eye complete with look of astonishment. Good body and breadth of chest with level top line and high set well carried tail. Moved out well. Would’ve preferred a slightly more open nostril.

1ST Jaschin Stop and Paws (Miss S H Harbron) Although on his own today this 5 and half yr old B/W boy who is up to size moved well around the ring. Good body and breadth of chest with level topline and high set well carried tail. Silky straight coat with hare feet moved out well. Large skull with large correctly set eyes.

1ST Ch Sharlarna Swindler JW (Mrs T & Mr A Quinn) B/W very handsome male. Beautiful head with dark eye and the perfect look of astonishment. Good cushioning, wide open nostrils with great pigment, correct set ears with ample feathering, lovely reach of neck flowing onto level topline. Cobby body with good width of chest and spring of ribs. High set tail, well balanced and excellent reach in front on the move. He presents a lovely outline both standing and moving being very attentative to his handler. Presented in super coat and condition. Pleased for award him DCC and BOB .

2ND Ch Jaschin Paw Star (Mr S & Mr J & Mrs A Rooney & Green & Green) Another fabulous boy presented in super coat and condition with a lovely head, correct eyes and well cushioned muzzle. Small well-set ears which are nicely feathered. Neck of moderate length, well laid shoulders and short compact body. Moved sound and true in all directions and delighted to award him RDCC .

1ST Kassui Reiko (Miss S Westwick) Just loved this puppy as soon as she walked into the ring .9 month old S/W girl with a super overall shape, cobby body ,dark eye, open nostrils, lovely reach of neck, good level topline , high set well carried tail with correct hare feet covered the ground well around the ring. Devoted to her handler today watching her every move.BPB and BPIB. Lovely to watch her get short listed in the puppy group.

2ND Kassui Mitsuki (Mrs S E Lindley) B/W 9-month-old girl who is litter sister to 1. Can say these two can swap places at any time. Very feminine good, shaped head, dark eyes with sufficient cushioning. Good body with level topline and lovely coat. Straight and stylish in movement both ways. Just not quite the confidence of her sister today but it will come.

1ST Carnvarl's Back to Black at Seafar (Mrs L Ratter) 18-month-old B/W cobby girl with pleasing head and expression. Ears set on well with good feathering, correct nose placement and good nostrils, dark eye with correct amount of white showing and nice width to muzzle. Good width of chest and well sprung ribs. Dainty and compact in outline. Soundly built all through and she moved with drive both ways once her head came up and she settled.

2ND Sharlarna Her Flick (Miss L Bradley)16-month-old B/W girl with good shape, dark eye and pigment, lovely reach of neck, good level topline when standing and on the move, fine strong bone and good body for age covered the ground well. Preferred head shape and expression of 1.

1ST Adela Goscinska Przystan at Fochai (Miss J Matches) 2 and half yr old R/W girl presenting a very square, cobby outline. Very expressive head, dark eyes, self-coloured pigment. Good legs. Well ribbed with level topline. Moved out well with drive both ways holding her tail up at all times.

2ND Adreeam Sienna (Mr R & Mrs J Potts) another lovely 2 yr old R/W girl with a broad skull, dark eyes with required white of eye, well-placed nose with open nostrils and nicely cushioned muzzle. Moderate neck, sturdy body with fine boned legs, well ribbed body with some breadth of chest, good topline and tail set. Nicely presented silky coat. She held her tail well on move but was dropping it whilst standing.

1ST Sharlarna Fantastique TAF (Mr K & Mrs S Sharp-Dixon & Leach) nearly 2 yr old B/W with a beautiful feminine head which she excels in, excellent correct skull, muzzle and expression with large dark eye correct amount to white with wide open nostrils. Well ribbed with correct tail set and carriage always holding tail up over the back. Moved soundly both ways with well-marked silky coat. Delighted to award RBCC

2ND Adreeam Alice JW (Mr C Gullon) Small and dainty R/W girl of very nice type. Sweet face with broad, rounded skull, large dark eyes showing enough white to give the desired expression, good ear set and carriage and nice cushioning. Lovely square outline, excellent bone. Moves well and always holds a typical cobby shape and topline. Excellent hare feet.

1ST Ch Jaschin First Edition (Mr S & Mr J & Mrs A Rooney & Green & Green) Elegant, dainty 6 and half yr old B/W girl of excellent type and quality that on side profile is so square, cobby and well balanced the picture of what the breed should look like in my eyes. Typical head with well-rounded skull, even blaze and fantastic cushioning, lovely eyes with correct amount of white in the inside corner giving the desired look of astonishment. Well laid shoulder, good level topline, well set tail holding it up over the back in a plume. Good rear angulation, moved with style, grace and elegance, with good reach gliding around the ring when nearly entering her veteran years. Presented in tip top condition and pleased to award BCC .

2ND Ch Sharlarna Eye Candy JW (Mrs T & Mr A Quinn) B/W girl with a really pretty head and expression with large well pigmented dark eye complete with look of astonishment. Good compact well ribbed body and breadth of chest with level topline and high set well carried tail. Silky straight coat presented well with hare feet moved out well.

1ST Ch Harlouville Uptown Girl JW (Mrs T & Mr A Quinn) I have had the pleasure of judging this girl before and lovely to see her looking so good in veteran. B/W with smart coby body and profuse coat, level topline, high set tail plumed over her back. Good cushioning and dark, expressive eyes with typical look of astonishment. Lively and sound on the move with great muscle tone. Immaculately presented with a silky coat and hare feet. This girl just loves to be in the show ring and delighted to award BV

2ND Sharlarna Deja Voo (Mrs S Millar) Mature B/W girl with a lovely head and expression, with good breadth to skull, short wide well cushioned muzzle and dark round eyes. Very good forehand, nice breadth of chest and compact well ribbed body, firm topline and high set tail, all topped off by a well-presented silky coat. Great for her age, a credit to her owner & breeder. Pretty head, lovely coat and moved soundly. Lovely to see her enjoying her day out.
