CITY OF BIRMINGHAM CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 4TH SEPTEMBER 2026

I would like to thank all the exhibitors for their entries and for the great sporting manner in which every exhibitor accepted my decisions. Although I have judged Chihuahuas in many Countries, this was my first time awarding CC’s to the breed in the UK and I had a thoroughly enjoyable day. I always strive to find the positives when judging and reflect this in my critiques. However, I also believe in mentioning faults as well as virtues, this is usually depicted as what I would prefer to improve in a dog or what made me decide to place one dog above another.

CHIHUAHUA LONG COAT

Veteran Dog (2)

1. Skinner’s Tysul Awel Y Mynydd ShcexOsw. 8 years old, very good type. He has a large rounded skull with correctly set ears. Good body with a level topline. Very good mover.

2. Morley’s Corentin Chidonna with Efterpi. Cjw. 8 ½ years old, He has a lovely coat and condition, good eyes. Not quite as well off for breed type as the winner.

Puppy Dog (7)

1. Hollister’s Hollichi Designer Dreams. 9 months old cream. Very good breed type. He has a typical saucy expression with flaring well set ears. Very good coat and great temperament. He has the typical forceful brisk stride on the move.  

2. Cater’s Pixels Diamonds are forever. He has very good breed type with a well balanced body. Good coat and level topline. He moves very well, not quite the temperament and attitude of the winner – hopefully he improves these with maturity.

3. Heap’s Maciendas Akeru God.

2. Sangster’s Kirlasidh Speed Bonny Boat. 14 months old. A very nice male, has a great confidence and moves with his tail carried high and has a saucy expression. He is a bit longer in body than the winner and is slightly hackneyed in gait.

3. 3. Skinner’s Mujerosa A little Tipple.

1. Gray’s Rubyanio El Vincitore JW. 18 months old. He has very good breed type, large rounded skull with typical saucy expression. He has correct coat and very good feet. Moved well. 

Limit Dog (6)

1. Burrows’ Mystic Legion Summer Wine. 3 ½ years old. Head rounded with a dark eye. He has a very well proportioned body with a level topline. Coat is good, he carries himself with great attitude and confidence. 

2. Skinner’s Mujerosa Lucky for me JW. 3 years old Black/Tan & White. Very well proportioned body with level topline and good tailset. Very good feet and has a great attitude.

3. Stangoe’s Stanghurst My Boy Charlie.

1. Hicks’ AKC Ch. Jun Ch. Legado de Lagos Rich Mans World (imp Esp). 2 years old. Very good head with saucy expression. Well bodied and in super condition throughout. Excellent coat and level topline, good tailset and carriage. Moved with desired brisk forceful movement, maintaining his attitude and great character. DCC & BOB.

2. Sangster’s Ch. Kirasidh Young Pretender. 4 years old, another one with great type, he is small and dainty with a good head and earset. Very good level topline, moved very well. I would just prefer a little more attitude and animation. Res DCC

Special Beginners Bitch (1)

1. Holland’s Darnley’s Barbie by Pinkcess. 17 months old. She has a lovely dark eye, correct bite and well flaring ears. Her body proportions are good, movement is ok.

Veteran Bitch (3)

1. Jones’ Flickan Fruitcake. 7 years old. She has a very good head with lovely eye and saucy expression. Very good earset and carriage. He body is well balanced and she has a brisk forceful action on the move.

2. Skinner’s Tyssul Zafira JW Shcex Osw Vw. 8 years old, nice bitch who has a very good coat, level topline and good tailset. Head smaller and she is not using her ears.  

Puppy Bitch (4)

1. Magri’s Bramerita Im a Faithful Rozamie. 10 months old black & Tan. Excellent breed type with an excellent head. Has a great saucy expression, ear perfectly set. Lovely balance throughout with a level topline and perfect tailset and carriage. Moved very well with great attitude. Res BCC.

2. Cater’s Pixels You only live twice. 10 months old, another lovely bitch of good type, very nicely balanced with good topline and body. Tailset is good but not quite carried as a sickle.

3. Skinner’s Mujerosa Tooty Frooty.

Both of these bitches need a lot more practice of being examined on the table, which I advised the owners to do. I did contemplate no awarding, but on the ground they were fine, plus they both had good type so I awarded them today…. Please listen to my advice and give them more practice as a future judge may not be so tolerant. 

1. Davis’ Chibull Thunderous Love. 1 year old. She has a large eyes with a saucy expression. Not good at being handled on the table, but on the ground she carries herself well, has great confidence and attitude moving around the ring with her tail carried well. 

2. Morley’s Moroso My little coco. Very good type, as mentioned was not confident on the table.

Post Graduate Bitch (8)

1. Stangoe’s Stanghurst Fancy Nancy. 2 years old. Wonderful type with fabulous attitude. Great head type with saucy expression, perfect earset, well bodied with level topline and good tailset and carriage. She has the desired brisk forceful action on the move. Not in full coat today. Had to win this class on her type, attitude and movement.

2. Hornby’s Flickan Firmament. 21 months, head type is ok. Ears are a bit low set, she is lovely and dainty, good mover with great tailset and carriage and very good coat. Would just prefer a better earset to give a better expression.             

3. Henefer’s Torre Del Pilar Begonia JW.

Limit Bitch (6)

1. Wilcox’s Bramerita Angel Dust. 2 ½ years old, very good head type and expression. Earset correct. Great topline, tailset and tail carriage with great sickle tail. She has a balanced body, carries herself well on the move with great confidence and attitude. She performed well right up until the end, well deserved BCC.

2. Cater’s Lykaths Light of Earendil in Pixels. Lovely bitch, similar in type to the winner. She has good eyes, balanced body and good set and carriage of tail. Her earset is higher than the preferred 45 degree angle, which gives her a different expression.

3. Jones’ Flickan Angie’s spirit JW.

1. Entwistle’s Ch. Dorenty’s Textututango. 3.5 years old. Lovely breed type, very good head and expression. Correct bite, lovely eye placement, she has a great saucy expression, level topline and great attitude and carriage. For preference I would prefer a slightly more sickle tail.

2. Wilcox’s Amtula Absolutely Fabulous. 12 months old, very good head and type, Has excellent attitude, good coat, slightly longer in body. 

3. Jones’ Flickan Figurine JW.

Good Citizen Bitch (2)

1. Doran’s Chantaydan Déjà vu with Osakazuki. 3 years old, cream. She has lovely dark eyes, great attitude, level topline and she is a good mover. Would prefer her to be shorter in body,
