Liked the size, bone and substance on this young male, who flowed effortlessly around the ring for one so young. Head is nicely balanced but would like a touch more underjaw on him.

2nd: 3990 LEAVESLEY, Ms Brenda & RICHARDSON, Miss Andrea Lizoni Modry Fantasie

Another nice male for size and substance, good to see this in the youngsters. Good bone and overall impression is of a dog that is refined yet masculine. He’s a little upright in shoulder for my which makes him high on the wither and means he didn’t have the forward reach on the move of 1. Nicely angled at the rear. Good clear blue.

Nicely conditioned young sable male, more slight in frame than 1. Nicely put together structurally. Lovely friendly disposition but needs more schooling to show off his attributes and could do with tightening up on rear movement. Clean head, good bite, ears well tipped.

Jet black jacket on this tri, in absolute gleaming condition. This dog has what I would describe as ‘presence’ along with good overall balance and silhouette when viewed in profile. Ears correctly carried and tipped, clean head with no coarseness. Lovely bone and substance, good front and well angled. Moved so soundly thanks to his good construction and muscular condition and felt sure he would be in with top honours when I saw him in his class, just pipped in the challenge by the dogs with more maturity, but I was quite taken with him.

2nd: 3989 LEAVESLEY, Ms Brenda Lizoni Lone Ranger

Another male in lovely condition and good overall order, so nice to see. Very ‘kindly’ in expression, clean head and well tipped ears. Lovely rear angles but not quite the drive of 1 on the move and I found him a little deep in brisket.

Everything I love in a smooth here, elegant frame yet undeniably male and with a physique that could undoubtably do the work of his ancestors. Flat skull, dark eye, lovely size and set and the most beautiful fill in foreface and muzzle on this male, that develops with maturity in a head that displays the correct planes. The softest of expressions. So fluid and obviously fit on the move displaying both reach and drive, coming from angles correct and balanced front and rear, holding topline, tail correctly set and carried. Loved him. So unlucky to come up against the incredible Veteran male today. RDCC

I have a soft spot for this dog, having judged him before, and he well deserves all his titles. Impeccably handled to really show off his best attributes. He is a very well balanced dog overall, with everything just in its place, all in moderation, with nothing exaggerated. Good and moderate bone and legs (not shoulder!) straight as they should be when viewed from the front. His angles are good fore and aft and in lovely fitness. Head clean, and skull flat. Plenty to like about him but he was being a monkey with his tail on the move and on the stand, possibly due to the ladies!

Without realising, I was sure I had both my CC and RCC winners in my mind until this class came in. This tri dog is in a league of his own, with the most WOW shape in profile when he stands, the most lovely shoulder, wither, topline, proportions, and rear angles. In my humble opinion, this is a dog that could appear in a book about the breed as a shining example. The flattest of skulls and a head that makes you smile as you handle it with no lump or bump or anything out of place, and the perfect amount of well placed stop. Dark eye of lovely shape and set, lovely expression, ear set A1. So very very sound on the move, effortlessly flowing with perfect tail set and carriage. He made my heart sing in the challenge and he went even better in the challenge for BOB. DCC & BOB.

2nd: 4000 SMITH, Mr And Mrs N And A UK Port Esp Gib Ch Winter Is Coming To Tentola 

Now I have judged this characterful gent before and described him as a court jester, and he lived up to this again today. It is lovely to see a dog with such personality who clearly enjoys what he does. All male with lovely head planes especially when viewed in profile and in no way showing his age here. On the move today he was being a bit lazy and his topline wasn’t as strong - he just wasn’t quite on the full form I have seen previously, and he was also jiggering about moving rather wide at the rear.

Sweet young tri bitch, so sound in temperament for one so young especially given the wind today. Enough bone but ultra feminine. Clean head. Nicely shaped almond eye. Moved soundly enough for her age. Very kindly handled.

Golden sable 16 m/o obviously more mature than 1 given age. Liked her head and eye shape. Would like a fraction more angulation front and rear though is balanced when viewed as a whole. Moves lightly on her toes but carried her tail just higher than I would like, especially for a female.

B/m bitch who was sound in temperament. Could do with more muscling as not well controlled on the move or stand especially at the rear although she is of adequate size and substance. Receding skull and I would like to see more underjaw.

Strong class and a close call between some placings. S/w lady with appealing outline in profile, particularly lovely when she stretches herself as she should. Well boned but feminine. Balanced angulation, in good muscular condition holding topline and tail well and moved soundly in all views, just pipping 2 on rear movement. Head clean and balanced, all in proportion, good flat skull. Being picky I would like those ears tipped just a fraction further over but she was battling against the wind today. 

2nd: 3976 BENTON, Miss M K Ch Blamorder Double Or Quits Of Oakestelle JW

Instant appeal from the clearest of blues who is so beautifully schooled. Love so much about her and she loves herself too, what a show off and can only be described as ‘at one’ with her owner/handler. Very pretty girl, refined and clean head and beautifully carried ears. A touch larger in eye than I prefer and although she’s super light on her toes on the move, she was moving just wide at the stifle going away today and this meant she had to settle today for the RBCC.

B/M bitch and what a delightful older lady and a credit to her owner, belying her nine years and absolutely no sign of slowing down. In such lovely condition and looks like she could herd sheep comfortably all day without tiring. Another lesson in showmanship for sure. Retaining her lovely head qualities and bite despite her age and moved with power and drive that could show up some youngsters!

Elegant tri lady, longer cast than 1 and not the strength in her topline now both standing and on the move. Well schooled and lovely temperament. Clean head and nicely filled muzzle that comes with age and wisdom.
