MINOR PUPPY DOG (3,2)

1st Beecham’s Jack To A King. A promising seven-month-old dog showing good breed type for his age. Well-balanced with good bone and tight feet. Masculine head developing well. Good front and hindquarters, with a well-sprung ribcage and good depth of body. Moved soundly and very together for one so young. Promising for the future. BPD & BPIB

2nd Mercer & Thomas’ Stormacre Bark At The Moon - A masculine dog with a pleasing overall outline. Pleasing head with a good expression. Strong bone and large, well-padded feet. Good body proportions for age. Muscular hindquarters and a level topline. Needs to tighten on the move but once settled, he moved soundly.

1st Allen-Line’s Bjorksatras Corfitz at Deckham (Imp Swe). - A balanced dog with a pleasing head, though I would prefer a little more length of muzzle. Deep chest with good spring of rib and a short, level topline. Attractive golden-tipped ears. Well-muscled hindquarters, good bone and strong feet. Once settled, moved soundly

1st Alderson’s Meggamooch Yesterday - A balanced dog with a masculine head, hazel eyes and a soft expression. Clean neck, deep chest with good spring of rib and a short loin. Well-bent stifles, strong bone and large feet. Once settled, moved well and maintained his outline.

2nd Clarke’s Florry’s Boy Big Phil JW. - A masculine dog with a good head, correct ear set. Short neck, deep chest with good spring of rib and a strong loin. Level topline with good front and rear construction. Well-muscled hindquarters and good overall substance. Moved soundly.

1st Beecham’s Sh Ch Crumbledor Albus Dumbleor at Rydonmist ShCEx - A masculine dog that appeals for his breed type and overall balance. Good head proportions with characteristic brows and correct ear shape with golden tips. Clean, slightly arched neck flowing into well-placed shoulders. Deep chest with well-sprung ribs and strong, well-muscled hindquarters. Presented in excellent coat. Moved soundly with the distinctive rolling action of the breed. DCC & BOB

2nd Bradbury & Preston’s Sh Ch Harasteorra Big Bear JW. - A dog who appeals for his breed type and balance. Masculine head with good width of skull, pronounced stop and characteristic frown of brows. Slightly arched neck flowing into a correct front assembly. Deep chest with ribs well back and strong, muscular hindquarters. Moved true with the distinctive rolling action of the Sussex Spaniel. RCC

1st Beecham’s Rydonmist Rock A Hula Baby. - A seven-month-old feminine bitch with plenty of character and enthusiasm. Lovely feminine head with good proportions and a kind expression. Well balanced for her age, with good bone and feet. Developing a typical outline and showing promise for the future. Full of fun and exuberance in the ring but once settled she moved out well. A delightful youngster with a wonderful zest for life and much to look forward to. BPB

1st Beecham’s Rydonmist Honky Tonk Angel. - A charming seven-month-old Sussex Spaniel bitch and, as I discovered afterwards, litter sister to the Minor Puppy winner. Feminine head with a soft, gentle expression and good head proportions. Well balanced for her age, with good bone, substance and developing breed type. A youngster with much to appreciate and plenty of time to mature. Moved well once settled.

JUNIOR BITCH (2,0)

1st Mercer & Thomas’ Moel Wynionof Stormacre. A feminine bitch who, although not in full coat, appeals for her lovely outline and breed type. Feminine head with good eye colour and well-tipped ears. Excellent front assembly, deep chest with good spring of rib and short loin. Lovely topline, well-muscled hindquarters and good overall balance. Moved with good drive from behind, maintaining her outline on the move. RCC

2nd Clarke’s Carnedd Gewllian. - Feminine bitch with good body proportions and pleasing breed type. Golden-tipped ears, short neck and deep chest. Well-muscled hindquarters and good overall substance. Lovely outline standing, although she tended to lose her topline on the move. A promising youngster with plenty of time to mature.

1st Wyton’s Willowswalk Miss Sunshine over Belbroughton - A balanced bitch with pleasing body and head proportions. Good neck, deep chest and short loin, with good overall substance. Good tail set and carriage. Moved satisfactorily, maintaining a pleasing outline.

2nd Wakefield’s Una Des Terres De Beaulieu avec Norriss - A happy girl with good breed type. Feminine head with good eye colour. Clean neck, strong bone and large feet. Good topline with well-bent stifles and a well-developed rear. Moved soundly.

1st Mowbray’s Sh Ch Gainsmill Lilu Luna potter at Crumbledor ShCEx - A lovely feminine bitch who moved out well in the class. Good head and body proportions with a beautiful feminine expression. Attractive golden-tipped ears and the characteristic breed outline I was looking for. Good spring of rib, deep chest and short loin. Moved with good drive and purpose. A very pleasing bitch.

2ns Alderson’s Meggamooch Winterfell - Similar remarks apply. A well-balanced bitch with good head and body proportions. Clean front and rear construction, deep chest with good spring of rib and short loin. Well-muscled hindquarters with strong bone and large feet. Attractive golden-tipped ears. Moved out well with good drive and purpose.
