Siberian Husky – Judge Ian Sinclair (Lesamian)

Firstly I would like to thanks the committee for inviting me to judge Siberian Huskies at their wonderfully well organised show. I would also like to thank my two stewards, Sue & Colin who kept the ring running smoothly throughout, I must say it was great to have such a large ring which allowed all the dogs to stretch out & show their movement to its best. Most of all I would like to thank everyone that entered under me, what a fantastic entry of some real quality dogs. The last 4 large bitch classes were really strong & hairs had to be split in the end. Overall I don’t think I had any dogs that I felt were too heavy or too light although I would like a little more bone on some of the dogs who could look a little feminine. Short upper arms and straight pasterns were not as prevalent as last time I judged but there were a couple of dogs with weak pasterns, hopefully down to lack of exercise & not anything more serious.

SBD/B (8,2)

1. Gibson – WHITEPEAK KINDER SCOUT – Just over a yr old who’s coat is just coming back & with nothing to hide. Nice masculine head with correct eye shape and set, ears not too large and well set. Front angulation correct & with strong pasterns. Level topline with a nice arch over the loin. Rear angulation balanced with the front. Overall nicely proportioned boy who moved well around the ring.
2. Kay – MYDISA HIELEN BRAW LADDIE – 3yr old boy who I liked a lot. Taller than 1, but still within standard. Loved this boys head which is masculine but in proportion. Angulation front and rear is well balanced, nice level topline, ribs well sprung, shown in great condition & glided around the ring, really pushed for 1st but just a little straight in the pasterns

1. McInnes – VIKERKOLLEN’S FF VIDAR FOR INNESKA. – Wow!! Do I need to say any more. Just loved this young man. 15 months old with a little filling out still to do but already epitomises what I believe a quality Siberian Husky should look & move like. Head to die for with correct medium length mussel, good stop, ears well set & of correct size. Well arched neck, good angulation balanced front & rear. Level topline held in the move, nicely sprung ribs and a good tuck up. Tail carried correctly & set well. Overall correctly proportioned, moderate & sound Siberian husky who loved the large ring and made the most of it. DCC & BOB 
2. Seaman- SUSIKUU WE WILL ROCK YOU. Another promising young man, Correct head proportions, balanced angulation, level topline leading to nice arch over the loin. I particularly liked the amount of bone on this boy being moderate & still showing athleticism which he showed moving around the ring.

1. Bryson – INUKSHUK O’NANIITCHUK KULU. At nearly 5 this boy is very understated but everything is in proportion & he used what he has to its best around the ring. He has a typical sibe head with oblique set eyes, correct size ears well set. Front assembly slightly narrow but well angulated & balanced with the rear. Length of leg in proportion to body, level topline held on the move, earnt his spot with his movement.

1. Foard – BIFROST CHAYKA SOUND’S, 6yr old boy. Masculine head, well balanced front and rear, level topline held on the move, strong pasterns, good tail set carried nicely on the move, shown in nice firm condition. Best mover in the class.
2. Wynne – MYDISA HIELEN WEE BELTER. Lovely head on this 3yr old boy, another one who is slightly understated but moderate, well balanced & in proportion all over & pushed 1 all the way just needed a little more spark on the move.
3. Homer – KERIQUEL SLIP ANCHOR

OD (10,2)

1. Snelson – CH AZGARD MONTICRISTO AT ASHTRAX – 6 ½ yr old handsome piebald boy. Judged him before & TBH I think he is getting better with age. He oozes masculinity without being coarse but is also a power house on the move where he displayed great balance and drive whilst still being light footed, I can’t really criticise his construction which in my view typifies the breed standard. RDCC.
2. McInnes – CH INNESKA MALACHITE. Another 6yr old I have judged before, this time swapped places with 1. Again a well balanced, nicely constructed, moderate but masculine Sibe who loves to show but just slightly lost out to 1 on the move today.

VD (5,1)

1. Johnston – SNOOPERZ NEWTON AT LOSTTRAIL. And another dog I have judged before & loved. 8yrs old now and still as handsome as ever. Very striking to look at with a masculine but foxy head, good front and rear angulation, tail carried well & a level topline held on the move. Nice deep chest without being overdone, leading to correct tuck.
2. Sargent – TRAILHUNTERS DEVON ROCK AT KERIQUEL – 9yr old boy slightly finer than 1 but still masculine. Nice head with almond oblique set eyes, correct stop and well set ears. Nice arch of the neck, good shoulders, well balanced angulation, well sprung ribs & strong pasterns. Moved well.
3. Robertson – CHATANIKA’S DRAGONKIN

1. Simmons – AURORASDREAM RAINSTORM. Going through the gangly stage and very raw but enough there to see she is going to be a nice young lady with everything to grow into. In the class she was a little erratic but in the Puppy challenge she had calmed herself down & earnt herself BP

1. Simmons – AURORASDREAM RAINFIRE. Sister to MPB & very similar, not quite as leggy & came across as slightly more mature in the class.
2. Brown – POCKETSIBES MTTSANTALEINA. Very difficult to split the 3 puppies. Another one going through the gangly stage at the moment, she is slightly longer in the back but again she has everything there to grow into.

1. Fletcher – WHITEPEAK HIGGER TOR, promising young lady who I am sure will do well. Nice feminine head with well set ears of the correct size, well laid back shoulders, Level topline with arch over loin, good length of leg to body, generally very well balanced. Moved well.
2. Seward. – ZIMAVOLK’S FREAK ON A LEASH WITH ELLEONIA. Watched this young lady grow over the last year & have loved her character. Pushed hard for 1st but just not with it on the day. Lovely head with the sweetest expression, good arch of the neck, nice proportions just needs a little more slope on the pastern which hopefully with come with maturity.
3. Caudy – SUSIKUU KILLER QUEEN AT SNODRAGON

1. Leich & Koops – FORSTAL’S RUBY, Pretty feminine 2yr old young lady. Slightly out of coat but not hiding anything. Nice head with everything in proportion, balanced angulation which showed on the move, light footed with good reach and drive. Well constructed overall & in good firm condition, I liked the overall proportions of this girl, she had substance without being overdone.
2. Freeman – SIBERIADRIFT HELLO ECHO AT ALOUSTAIR. – 2yrs old & has the appearance of quite a compact girl but is all in proportion & moderate. Sweet head & expression, nicely bodied & well balanced, level top line leading to nice arch over the loin, carried her tail well, lots of drive on the move.
3. Snelson – SAKINO’S ENVY AT ASHTRAX

1. Casola – PODRICALS DREAM BABY. Lovely standard fitting sibe. Nice head, good bone, well balanced and moved with grace & drive, correct leg to body proportions, nicely constructed. Judged this young lady as a puppy giving her BPIB & really pleased with the way she has developed.
2. Bowering – PENKALAS KEONA – typical Sibe head, very feminine, good proportions, nicely balanced, very similar to 1 in all aspects just not as all together on the day.

1. Wynne – CH MYDISA HIELAN WEE HAIVER. 3yrs old white girl in full coat & well presented. Nice head with correct almond oblique set eyes, good stop, correct ear size and placement. Good leg length to body proportion and nice amount of bone with strong pasterns. Well sprung ribs, correct tuck. Glided around the ring and showed her socks off. BCC
2. Sargent – CH KERIQUEL ROSE ROYALE, one of those hair splitting moments, many of the same attributes to 1 & pushed her all the way in the class & also against the RCC winner in the challenge but just missed out on the day.
3. Bryson – CH INUKSHUK IQNIQ O’THE NIGHT JW

1. Brown – CH ZARCHENSKI TABOO ZILP AT POCKETSIBES. Given this girl RCC before & have done again today where she pushed hard for the BCC, splitting hairs again. Nice feminine head, slightly longer in the leg & body to the BCC but still in proportion. Nice deep chest and good tuck up, carries her tail well. She moved well making good use of her attributes around the ring. RBCC BV
2. Casola - SASSICAIA'S CHOCOLATE LADY AT PODRICAL, loved this girl since she was a puppy. Nice feminine head, good arch on the neck, well balanced front and rear, good tail carriage. Overall nicely constructed just lacking a bit of spark on the move today.
