ST BERNARDS

Limit Dog 1 (0)

1st Svanasjons Xtra Special (Imp Swe) Mrs H Venable-Smith. Presented in excellent condition, this 2 year old male has a masculine head with a defined stop good strength of muzzle, complemented by a good neck and strong shoulders. The topline could be firmer but overall he has an excellent chest and forechest with balanced angulations. He stands straight in front with good bone, pasterns and feet. On the move, he shows positive side action, though is close behind in the hocks.

Open Dog 3 (1)

1st Ch Chandlimore Boys Night In Mr B & Miss A Deegan & Grainger. 3-years old of excellent type, presented in super coat and condition. Masculine typical head with a well-defined stop, clean eyes and a strong, well-formed muzzle. Stong neck leading into a firm, level topline. Well-angulated fore and hindquarters, with a deep, broad chest and well-developed forechest. Strong bone throughout and standing on good, correct feet. Sound, strong and efficient movement with good drive, maintaining a firm topline, clean coming and going. A very well-balanced and quality St Bernard, pleased to award him the Dog CC & Best of Breed.

2nd Bernmont Sergeant at Philandros Ms P J & Mrs R Forrest & Lucas 2-year-old dog of good size and proportions with good breed type. Pleasing head with a clean eye, good depth of muzzle. Well set on neck of good length leading into defined withers, and level firm topline. Good overall substance and balance for age. Front assembly could be better, he is a little narrow in forechest and stands weak in front, which affected his front action coming but overall positive on the side gait and strong in the rear. Reserve Dog CC

Puppy Bitch 1 (0)

1st Chandlimore Golden Girl with Beausaints (Mrs T & Mr G Booth). A feminine 9-month-old bitch, with a head developing nicely for age. Good bone and straight legs. Firm topline, which she maintained well on the move. Moderately angulated hindquarters, good depth of chest, though could have a little more sternum. Positive, side gait and clean coming and going. Best Puppy in Breed

Junior Bitch 1 (0)

1st Svanasjons Yarrow Field Blossom at Lunorvi (Imp Swe) (Mrs B Dowden). A good-sized 17-month-old Junior bitch with pleasing proportions and a nice outline when standing. Attractive head with a good muzzle, clean eyes. Well-angulated forequarters. Topline slightly soft, and unfortunately she let herself down on the move which could have been more balanced, losing her shape and topline.

Limit Bitch 1 (0)

1st Parleshan Ebony Rose (IKC) (Mr P & Mrs S Clarke) A really lovely, well-presented 21-month-old bitch which caught my eye when she entered the ring. She is of excellent type and proportions and has the most pleasing feminine head with a clean eye, strong muzzle and good lips. Excellent neck and shoulders leading onto a strong, level topline. Deep, broad chest. She stands well on good bone, with firm pasterns and correct feet. Well-angulated fore and hindquarters, giving a positive, strong side gait and clean movement coming and going. Pleased to award her the Bitch CC.

Open Bitch 2 (0)

1st Ch Chandlimore Minerva (Mr B & Miss A Deegan & Grainger). An excellent-sized, substantial and well-proportioned long coat bitch presented in excellent coat and condition and winning the class on her construction and movement. Large, typical head, slightly loose eye. Deep, broad chest and good angulation front and rear. Stands on excellent bone and moves well in all directions holding her shape and topline. Reserve Bitch CC

2nd Ch Surleval Draig Sisu (Mrs C Phillips) A smooth-coated bitch with a pleasing outline when standing, though of more moderate bone than the class winner. Good head type with a nice, clean eye, although the lips are a little heavy. Strong neck leading onto a firm topline. Could stand better in front, being a little weak in pasterns which showed in her movement coming. Good side gait, displaying positive movement and a pleasing outline in profile.
