Richmond Championship Dog Show | Old English Sheepdogs

Many thanks to the officers and committee for the invitation to judge OES at Richmond

2026, the final show to be held at the Loseley Park venue.

I found most exhibits to be clean, knot-free and in good body condition, with good

overall presentation. A few would benefit from being slightly leaner to help their

movement and front angulation, while some could develop a little more muscle tone to

support sound hind movement.

Thank you to all the exhibitors for their entries and for their warm and hospitable

support on the day. I consider judging to be a great honour, and it is always a privilege to

go over your lovely dogs.

Veteran Dog (1 Entry Abs 0:)

1t Ms H Woods & Mr I Pointon & Mrs L Bull Int UK Ned Swiss Bel LUX CH Vigilat’s

Rhapsody in Blue via Bumblebob (Imp Nld) 8-year-old impressive male standing square

in perfect condition and presentation, darkest of brown eyes with full pigmentation set

in a capacious head and strong under jaw. Good length of neck leading into clean

shoulders, loved his front! Plenty of bone and substance with well sprung ribs and depth

of chest. Balanced angles front and back which shows on the move when settled,

plenty of spark and character in this boy. Pleased to award RDCC + BVIB.

Puppy Dog (3 Entries) Abs: 1:

1st Mr & Mrs Harris Soulbobs Northern Charm at Beauvallon

11 months old shapely boy standing short coupled, good head with brown eyes and

correct bite. Nice length of neck leading into clean shoulders. Coat changing nicely for

his age with lovely presentation. Good bone and substance for age, a little unsettled on

the move today.

2nd Mrs Wade Old Dream’s Higher Love. Just a 6 month old baby who I later heard was

his first show and what a poppet. Standing confident in a changing puppy coat, correct

bite with angles balanced front and back, moved nicely.

Junior Dog (1 Entry) Abs 0:

1st Mr M & Miss L Edwards Kenbloom Youv’e Got a Friend. Nicely presented young male

standing in a correct jacket for his age with good colour and texture coming through,

lovely dark brown eyes and correct bite. Balanced angles front and back with good turn

of stifle. Handled beautifully.

1st Mrs C Naismith Shaggybo Mineral Mist JW. Masculine chap standing in beautiful

condition and presentation which filled the eye. Brown eyes set in a capacious head,

lovely markings with lots of pigmentation and correct bite, lovely length of neck leading

into well placed clean shoulders. Good angles front and back with good lay back of

shoulder, good spring of rib and depth of chest. Loads of bone to go over, good turn of

stifle, with lovey neat hocks. I loved this boys spark and presence in the ring, moved with

reach and drive. Delighted to award the DCC + BOB.

2nd Miss S Deakin Amblehart Mr Banks at Darwillow JW. Another lovely boy with so much

to like. Brown eyes set in a strong head with correct bite. Balanced angles front and

back which shows on the move. Plenty of bone and depth of chest, good turn of stifle

and neat hocks. Beautifully presented, really splitting hairs between these two, just felt

1 stood more finished on the day.

Open Dog (4 Entries) Abs 0:

1st Mrs P Mills CH Kerjalee Evan Sent. Beautifully presented male, brown eyes placed in

a capacious head and correct bite. Good length of neck, clean shoulders with correct

angles front and back, well sprung ribs, depth of chest and plenty of bone. Neat hocks

and turn of stifle. Moved freely and made the most of the ring.

2nd Mr & Mrs Howsam CH Mellonars Keep It Cool Branston at Jandoes JW. Another lovely

male, smaller in type than 1 with lots to like. Brown eyes and correct bite, good head

and under jaw, correct angles front and back, well off for bone, good turn of stifle. Good

coat colour and texture.

Veteran Bitch (2 Entries) Abs 0: This class certainly pulled my heart. Such a delight to

see fully coated veterans standing in great condition for their age, a true credit to their

owners.

1st Mrs P Mills Kerjalee She Has Her Moments. What a feminine 11.5 year-old lady,

incredible for her age! Standing in great condition lovely coat and outline. Brown eyes

set in a good head, correct bite and dentition especially for her age. Balanced angles

front and back and moved with ease around the ring. Such a poppet!

2nd Mrs S Robertson CH Hickorystix Keep The Faith. Another lady standing in fabulous

condition at 9.5 years old she still has everything in the right place. Larger in type than 1

with lots to like. Brown eyes in a good head, balanced angles front and back, plenty of

bone, moved freely around the ring.

Puppy Bitch (1 Entry) Abs 0:

1st Ms M Barton & Mrs T Reed Charmlea Hearts Delight at Amblehay. Just 12 months old

feminine young lady, standing in a well changing jacket of good colour and texture

coming through. Feminine head, brown eyes and correct bite. Good length of neck

leading into clean shoulders. Short coupled. Moved freely and steadily which gave the

edge in the puppy challenge. BPIB.

Juinor Bitch (4 Entries) Abs 1:

1st Mr & Mrs Howsam & Mrs Hoggan Jandoes Got To Be Rosie. Really liked this girl! Very

shapely with so much going for her. Stood square with a strong head and brown eyes

with good pigmentation, correct bite, clean shoulders and front angulation. Plenty of

bone, well sprung rib. Coat clearing well and beautifully presented.

2nd Mr & Mrs Wilkinson Kalaju Dream A Little Dream. Lovely shapely girl standing short

coupled in a harsh coat for age. Brown eyes set in a good head, correct bite, good length

of neck and clean shoulders. Balanced angles front and back. Enough bone and spring

of rib. With a little more attention to presentation, I feel this lovely girl has the potential

to challenge for top honours.

3rd Mrs L Powell Kalaju Kween of Dreams at Wookeymill

Post Graduate Bitch (1 Entry) Abs 0:

1st Mrs G Mills Kerjalee Dressed To Impress at Mopill. Standing in a clear coat which is

changing nicely for her age. Good head, brown eyes with a correct bite good length of

neck into clean shoulders. Good turn of stifle and neat hocks.

Limit Bitch (4 Entries) Abs 0:

1st Mrs E Wheeler Makaylen Savanna Pearl. Loved this girl! Very shapely and standing

short coupled with one of the best jackets on the day. Harsh as anything with plenty of

texture. Brown eyes set in a good head, good length of neck leading into clean

shoulders. Good angles front and back. Good spring of ribs, enough bone, well-turned

stifle and neat hocks. Moved around the ring freely and with purpose. RBCC

2nd Ms & Mrs Legget Mellowdee Sapphire Moon Avec Meldale JW. Balanced in

appearance with good angles front and back, browns eyes with a good head and correct

bite. Clean shoulders. Good turn of stifle of neat hocks. Darker coat with good texture.

Moved freely.

3rd Mr & Mrs Mann Krisendaw Kassia For Flufebustles

Open Bitch (6 Entries) Abs 0: What a privilege to judge such a strong class, thank you to

all exhibits for such a quality class.

1st Mrs Rutland & Mrs Porter CH Mellowdee Diamond Lil JW. Loved this girl’s make and

type! Standing totally solid in bone and substance and short coupled giving that coby

appearance. Capacious head with good width to her underjaw, darkest of brown eyes

and pigmentation, giving a lovely expression. Clean shoulders with good angles front

and back. Well sprung ribs with good depth of chest. Good turn of stifle and neat hocks

– moved freely. Beautifully presented in a clear jacket of harsh texture BCC.

2nd Mr & Mrs Jones CH Quemerford Magic Wish. Another beautiful girl standing in full

bloom with a clear harsh jacket and lovely square outline. Darkest of eyes and

pigmentation, set in a strong head, correct bite. Good length of neck leading into clean

shoulders. Good angles front and back. Well sprung ribs with good depth, good turn of

stifle. Moved out freely.
