I was a little surprised with the small entry which was more than half my previous appointment, but it does unfortunately seem the norm these days, but still very pleased to see that half the exhibits were Champions. Sorry there were no puppies as not only is it my favourite class to judge but it is a good indicator for the future in any breed & what a lot of imports!

Post Graduate Dog: 1

1st: Ulyatt`s YAMADAN KN AIJAZ HAALIM {IMP USA},20 mths black fringed fawn, still very immature and a little refined throughout. He has a lovely head and dark eye, good ears and set. Correct length of neck flowing into shoulders, would like a little more angle of upper arm and hindquarters but he is balanced throughout with good length and depth. Well ribbed back with strong loin, just a little fond of his tail on the today but he has style and free movement. A real slow mature.

Limit Dog:1

1st: Strong`s XERXES OMAR TER DOLEN {IMP BEL}, 25 mths black fringed red, I loved his colouring. Masculine head and dark eye, good length of neck into well laid shoulder, sound front with good bone, pasterns and feet. Good depth and well ribbed back with correct length , fallaway and tail set. Nicely angulated , powerful hindquarters with good front and hind co-ordination. Pressed hard for the res CC, he is very similar in style and type to my previous dog CC winner two years ago and I see from the same kennel. I hope he follows in his kennel mates footsteps.

Open Dog: 3 {1 abs}

1st: Aldous & Glaister`s CH. JAY JP SEA BIRD EL PANJSHER JW {IMP JP} 7 ¾ yrs cream, another I have judged before and placed well when in

top form. He is still a very elegant, striking hound. Although a little refined throughout he is well constructed and has great presence, moving easily and with style. Looked great standing but not quite the muscle tone and the extra drive and reach of the Veteran dog today. Res CC.

2nd: Thomas & Thomas` BEL CH. LUX CH. SINCERITY KALIMANTAN CASHAR {IMP FIN},3 ½ yrs black grizzle. Close decision between these two and I actually preferred Cashar`s head and eye. Good length and depth of chest and correct topline with strong loin, lovely tail, set and carriage. Not quite the front angulation of winner but excellent hindquarters with low set hocks.

Veteran Dog:1

1st: De Souza, De Souza & Woodgate`s CARYNA TAIVOA, 7 ½ yrs black grizzle, extremely well constructed mature male. Looked the part standing with great bone and lovely feet. Powerful, very sound mover front and rear, really does use those correct hocks. Great tail, set and carriage. Not as elegant in the head as I like but he totally outmoved his competition in the challenge and pleased to award him the CC, BOS and Best Veteran.

Veteran Bitch: 1

1st: Williams` TIGSISLE TOTALLY UNIQUE, 9 ½ yrs cream, a lovely classy bitch who is just my style. In grand form for her age, pretty head with correct ears and set. She still has everything in the right place and has that typical graceful, effortless movement with great reach, just not the muscular tone and togetherness in the challenge for Best Veteran.

Post Graduate Bitch: 2

1st: Williams` SAFEERA KASAQUE AL DJIIBAAJAH {IMP DEU}, Just 19 mths black fringed red. Quality hound who is not big but has an awful lot to like about her. Very pretty head and dark eye with excellent ears and set. Strong neck into well laid shoulders, sound front and good feet. Deep brisket with correct ribbing and length of loin. Good hind angulation and co-ordination, low set hocks. I like her tail set and carriage. Looked immature against my CC winner but pleased to award her the res CC amongst good competition.

2nd: Jowitt`s BARLEYMOON ZALA, more mature black fringed fawn. Taller bitch than above and different style overall. Lovely head and eye, more refined than winner she lacked a little forechest and front angulation but she has good length and fallaway. Nice hind angulation with low set hocks.

Open Bitch: 3

1st: Copperthwaites CH. ALCALIPH`S BELISAMA, Nearly 5 yrs cream, I have seen her from afar and always admired her and so pleased to be able to judge her today.What a gorgeous bitch! I loved everything about her, so feminine but strong, lovely overall conformation, oozes type and quality. Superb movement and I am sure she would win anywhere in the world, it is not often that everything you read in the relevant Breed Standard is in front of you but she really does tick all the boxes for me. I had no hesitation in awarding her the CC & BOB.

2nd: Sanders Parker`s CH. HEART & SOUL JP NASHWA CLASSICUS JW {IMP JP}.Nearly 17 mths cream, smaller and slightly shorter coupled and a different style to winner but well constructed throughout with good front and hind co-ordination.Still a little immature and not quite the reach and drive of winner today .

3rd: Mackenzie Loughran`s CH. CLASSICUS OPHELIA
