Firstly, I would like to thank the officers and committee for inviting me to judge this prestigious show. My first time awarding Challenge Certificates in this breed. The venue is super! I had a lovely day. Thanks to all the exhibitors for a quality entry and for gracefully accepting my decisions. I was very pleased with my best of breed winners.

The show was very well run with plenty of refreshments and food. Thank you all for making me feel so welcome.

The breed seems to come in various shapes and sizes. A few with no length of neck and not enough length in leg, temperaments were good. Some wide fronts on the move some rears not so good.

Open Dog (3)

1st, Mr & Mrs Carrington,s

Ch/Int/Muliti Ch Bushwacker Oceans Eleven.

This Tri dog I have admired from afar and had the opportunity of judging this dog when younger where he was reserve best dog.

At 5.5 he has simply matured into a very handsome dog.

He has all the correct attributes of the breed, he is fine boned and aristocratic looking, just shouts look at me I’m here, so striking to look at. He has a beautiful head enough wrinkle with a flat well chiselled skull, medium width, with enough cheek, a slight stop, correct distance from nose to stop as to the stop to the tip of the occiput. He has lovely neat hooded ears, set high which gives way to his alert clean expression. He has lovely dark almond eyes, enough wrinkle to his head. Correct dentition, and a lovely black nose.

He has a strong neck well arched leading into good shoulders with a lovely fine straight front, elbows tucked in close to his brisket which is deep and running up to a neat defined waste. His ribs are well sprung, his loin short, his legs long and powerful but still with the fine structure that makes him stand out from the rest. He has a strong rear with well let down hocks, long second thighs that propel him forward with the most super light elegant swift movement with that of a gazelle, his tail a double curl just framing his outline, this boy pushed really hard for Brest of Breed. He stood square on lovely tight feet when he drew to a stop. His beautiful dark coat with pliant skin just gleamed DCC & RBIS well done!

2nd, Ch/Int/Ndl Ch Mawali Going For Gold, 5.5 year old red and white. Slightly wider in skull than my winner but nonetheless he was all in proportion. Correct head, medium width with well placed ears carried forward giving a hooded appearance, enough wrinkle, dark almond eye with dark rims, slight stop, sidelines of skull taper gradually towards his mouth with slightly padded cheeks. He had the correct dentition with strong jaws. A strong neck of good length, well crested, into well moderately placed shoulders. Excellent straight forelegs, good length patterns, muscular bodied all round without coarseness, elbows tucked close to his brisket. He had the correct spring of rib, short loin, straight top line held on the move. His rear was strong, sufficient shelf, double curled tail, he had a long second thigh, moderately bent stifle, hocks tuning neither in nor out, good feet with nice short nails, he moved out swiftly with a swinging stride.

There is a lot to like about her.

Post Graduate Bitch, (3,2)

1st, Mr V Biliunas, Edavid Velli nearly 4 years

red and white, smaller bitch, lacking in leg length, couldn’t really asses as the handler had trouble stacking her which didn’t give an easy outline to critique, she was very unsettled on the move, owner could benefit from ring craft. She was pretty enough with a feminine head of correct proportions enough wrinkle and slight side wrinkle, correct ear placement, hooded, medium width skull, dark oval eye, slight stop, good dentition.

Arched neck, moderate shoulders, sufficient spring of rib, deep briskets, tight elbows, enough tuck up, fine boned, muscled well and has moderately turned stifles. Long hocks, correct tail. Would be great to see her when he has got her moving well!
