Plus a big thank you to my multi national stewards on the day. Whilst not the biggest of entries there were some quality exhibits to examine. What I would like to point out is that some exhibits rear movement, whilst ok in profile they were somewhat narrow when going away from you. Basenji - Veteran Dog Entries: 1 Absentees: 0 1ST Ch/Ir Ch Swanwite Take A Chance On Me ShCEx Cw25 VW (Mrs I Legget). A well balanced head piece with a good hooded ear and well placed. Wrinkled forehead. Crest to the neck into a clean forehand with no throatiness. Like a slightly better return of upper arm. Correct depth of brisket in line with elbow, which are tight to body. Straight forearm with fine bone, and good long flexible pastern. Topline tended to rise over the loin. Good tight tail and well set on. Well let down behind with good length to hindquarters. Good head carriage on the move with a good open gait, balanced picture. Pulls into a nice balanced make and shape on the move. Good rear construction and well let down hock and showed moving away with some drive. Like slightly more compact feet. Crest to the neck into good shoulders flowing through with a level topline and well set on tight tail. Oval rib and short loin. Good masculine head and expression with a well hooded erect ear, well set, good wrinkle on forehead, plenty of work under the eye. The handler certainly made a splash on the move. Red and white. A good masculine dog all through. Super head and expression with plenty of work under the eye. Correct head proportions and clean cheeked. Well hooded erect ear, well wrinkled forehead. Clean forehand with well crested neck into well laid shoulder. Good straight forearm with fine bone, long flexible pastern, with small compact feet. Good depth of brisket to elbow with oval rib and short loin. Level topline with well set on tight curled tail. Well let down hock and good long hindquarters. Moved well both ways with that typical open gait in profile. 2ND Ch/int/multi Ch Bushwacker Oceans Eleven (Mrs A & Mr N Carrington). Black, white and tan. Nice balanced outline. Masculine all through. For me not quite the head of 1st. I’d like a little more underjaw. Clean forehand with good crest to the neck into well laid shoulder, good depth of brisket and nice tight elbow. Good straight forearm with fine bone. Long flexible pastern and nice small compact feet. Oval rib and short loin. Level topline and well set on tail with good tight curl. Well let down behind and well conditioned. 3RD Ch/int/nld Ch Mawali Going Four Gold (Mr Gj & Mr N Williams & Wright) RES Nld/de/lux/bel/slo/int Ch King Rimbo Africa Heart Cw'25 (Miss V.p. Geradts) Basenji - Special Beginners Entries: 0 Absentees: 0 Basenji - Veteran Bitch Entries: 1 Absentees: 0 1ST Ch Tokaji Moon over Miami with Mutoko JW ShCEx OSW VW (Mrs P Nash). Tri colour. Lovely feminine head with correct balanced proportions. Clean cheeked with plenty of work under the well placed eye. Well set erect ear well hooded, good crest to the neck into well laid shoulder through to a level topline. Good depth of brisket to elbow, with straight forearm and fine bone. Well ribbed back with oval shape. Short loin. Well angulated rear with well let down hock. Very raw and needs to fill in the middle at the moment. Feminine well balanced head with correct proportions from nose to back of skull. Well set hooded ear with wrinkled forehead. Level topline with well set on tail. Like a little tighter curl. Short loin and well let down behind. Super open gait on the move with good reach and drive. 2ND Yasania Mysterious Talisman (Miss V.p. Geradts). Black and white. Lighter in type to 1st and didn’t want to play today, giving the handler a challenging time trying to keep her still for long enough. A balanced head and well placed hooded ear. Crest to the neck, with clean forehand, brisket to elbow with oval rib. Short loin. Level topline. Moved well in profile with some drive. Basenji - Junior Bitch Entries: 0 Absentees: 0 Basenji - Post Graduate Bitch Entries: 0 Absentees: 0 Basenji - Limit Bitch Entries: 2 Absentees: 0 1ST Here We Go Again at Swanwite JW (Mrs I Legget). Tri-colour. A well balanced smart bitch. Clean forehand with well placed shoulder into straight forearm with fine bone, long pastern and small compact feet. Good depth of brisket to elbow. Would have liked them a little tighter to the chest. Oval rib and short loin with level topline. Plenty of substance all through. And well set on tail with good tight curl. Some width to her bum and well let down behind. I preferred her head to 2nd with a well hooded ear. Did tend to pace at the rear at points going round the ring. 2ND Carmen The Happiest Njk (Miss V.p. Geradts). Tri-colour. Not quite the balance of 1st and not the substance all through. Clean forehand with straight forearm with fine bone and long pasterns. Brisket to elbow and oval ribs. Topline tended to rise over the loin. Well let down behind. Moved well on the up and down. Would have liked a better set of the ear as spoilt the overall head piece. Basenji - Open Bitch Entries: 8 Absentees: 0 1ST Ch Akmar Napatan Gold for Westlawn JW (Miss A A Clinton). Tri-colour. A really interesting class with a few different types in it. And a few not behaving as well as they could have. A preferred this bitches overall make, shape and balance plenty of substance to her without any coarseness. Well proportioned head with clean cheeks and an almond eye. Well set hooded ear and used them to advantage. Clean through her a well crested neck and shoulder into a level topline and well set on tail, with tight curl. Super front construction with straight forearm and fine bone, long pastern and small compact feet. Deep brisket to the elbow, oval ribbing and nice short loin, into a well made set of hindquarters with a good let down of hock. Moved well both ways and a super open gait in profile not losing her balance. 2ND Ch Mawali New York New York (Mrs S Dunsdon). Red and white. Felt this bitch made a better pair type wise with 1st. Well balanced with a feminine head and expression, wrinkle forehead and well set erect hooded ear. Good crest to the neck into a well laid shoulder. Brisket to the elbow with a straight forearm with fine bone, a long pastern. Good oval rib and short loin. Level topline with a tight curled tail, well set on, with some bum behind it.
