I’d like to extend a huge thank you to the officers and committee for the invitation to judge at their Golden Anniversary show. First time at Stafford, and it all ran smoothly despite a few glitches. I had a lovely entry both numerically and in quality, so I was splitting hairs in some classes. To my very able steward Calum you kept everything running to order, thank you for your help, and to each and every one of the exhibitors that came along for my opinion.

1st: 3702 BAKER, Mr Charles Breakerswell Animal

Pleasing male of 3 years, I liked his compact body with lovely depth and substance. Head is well made, muscular neck, leading into level topline, rear quarters are well made, with good width of thigh and bend of stifle. Carries himself well on the move.

2nd: 3712 GREGORY, Mrs A & Mr J Deltandamba Go West

This young man was giving a lot away today in age, he is balanced in outline, he still has some developing to do through body. Head is a little fine, but he has good length of neck, he has decent angles both ends that enabled him to move out well. Would just like a little more of him, but time is on his side.

1st: 3698 ADSHEAD, Ms Andrea & ADSHEAD, Miss Alexandra Sh Ch Afonbach Winter Is Coming JW VW ShCEx OSW

Super 9 year old, liked him for size and shape, clean cut head that is slightly wedge shaped. Eyes of correct shape and colour give him a lovely soft friendly expression.

He is well developed through body and is well angled at both ends with well bent stifle, his coat is correctly marked and he moves out well showing good reach and drive. 

2nd: 3720 ROGERS, Miss P A Eusanit Peaky Blinder

I preferred the forequarters of 1 but this 8 year old has a well-made head with good eye colour. Neck is of good length into his level topline that he held on the move, and he moved well.

1st: 3703 BAKER, Mr Charles Breakerswell Baker's Boy

3rd in SBD I found him to be a little narrow, but he has a handsome head with lovely expression, he has decent depth of chest, is well muscled, he moves our happily holding his topline.

2nd: 3714 HIPKISS, Ms Caroline Ann Deltandamba It's Asin

This young man of 16 months is still developing, and time will help him to mature through body, he has a lovely head with good eye shape and colour. He has well-muscled rear quarters and he moves out well.

Appealing male, scored in size and shape for me, masculine head, well-muscled neck, body is deep with good spring of rib, holds his topline on the move and he moves out with a jaunty stride from his well-made rear quarters. RBD

2nd: 3706 BRAND, Miss Nicola Caroline Coedhelyg Jingle All The Way

A touch smaller than 1 in height, that said, he has a lovely head with correct eye shape and ear set. He has decent bone and neat feet; he moves with good reach and drive.

1st: 3709 GIBSON, Mr Leslie Delphox Guiser

This impressive male certainly caught my eye as soon as he entered the ring. He has a correct head shape being slightly wedge and has a lovely kind expression. He flows from his muscular neck to the end of his well feathered tail. His shoulders are well laid, his front is straight and he stands on well boned legs and tight feet. He has lovely body depth and well sprung ribs, he is strong through the loin, and with his rear quarters matching his forequarters he moved so well and in unison with his young handler who made an excellent job of showing him. He was just pipped by a whisker for BOB by the bitch as I thought in the challenge, she just had the edge on movement BD

2nd: 3705 BARKER, Mrs P Coedhelyg Ho Tee Machine JW

Different stamp to 1, being a touch longer in body. Head is masculine with lovely flow from neck into topline, he has correct angulation at both ends with good width of thigh and well bent stifle, decent depth and ribs. He moved out well in all directions.

1st: 3727 SMYTH, Mr Daniel Camusmor Mak Siccar

Preferred head of 2, but I liked his shape and depth of body. Decent angles both ends, front is straight with good bone and feet, he holds his topline well on the move but was a little close going away.

2nd: 3710 GOUGH, Mrs Elizabeth & GOUGH, Mr Edward Cretshengan Kitchi Lake (a.i.)

Lovely balanced head of the correct shape with almond shaped eye that gives the desired kind and friendly expression. He’s a nice outline when stood, I just preferred the overall make and shape of 1 today, but he moves out well.

Attractive mature bitch. She has a good outline of correct proportions, pretty head, with correct eye shape and ear set. Straight front, she stands on well boned legs, her body is well developed having good depth and well sprung ribs. She shows good reach and drive on the move and moves with a jaunty stride.

2nd: 3728 SPINK, Mr Martyn Sinsircariad Key Lime Pie

at just 14 months of age this young lady still has some developing to do. She has a pleasing head, good length of neck, she still needs to drop into herself a bit. Decent angles both ends. Moved well but she’s still a little loose at the elbow. Shown in good coat that’s correctly marked.

Charming bitch of 9 years, super head that is feminine and of correct shape, her eye colour toning with coat that gives her a lovely soft expression. She has correct front angulation with lovely forechest. Her medium length of neck is muscular and flows into her level topline, body deep with well sprung ribs. She has well-muscled rear quarters, with good width of thigh and well bent stifle. Her movement was true in all directions RBB & BV

Sweet promising youngster of 7 months, head is feminine but still needs to develop on a bit. She has a nice outline, is well proportioned for her age and is all going in the right direction, she moves out well showing her jaunty stride.

Feminine bitch at the right stage for her age, head is balanced with good eye shape and colour. She is of decent shape, but just needs to develop in body and rib, this will come with time. She has a correctly marked coat and moves out well but was a touch close at the back.

2nd: 3726 SEWELL, Mrs D Breakerswell Twiglet

Different type to 1, being a little squarer in outline, and still growing, she’s standing a little ‘bum high’ at the moment, but this should change as she matures and muscles up.

She has a feminine head and decent forequarters. She moved out well.

Pretty bitch of 2 years, lovely head and eye, she shows a good outline when stood, straight front, with good bone and feet, decent depth, moderately bent stifle, moves out well holding her level topline.

Appealing bitch who shows good breed type, liked her for size and shape, head is balanced but her eye was a little rounder than I would have liked. She has a lovely front and is well off for forechest, body is deep and well ribbed, her rear quarters are well muscled and she has a well bent stifle, she moved out well in all directions.

Quality bitch, she has a lovely head with eyes that are of correct shape and dark in colour, skull is clean cut with moderate stop, giving her that lovely kind and friendly expression that is desired of the breed. She makes a good shape when stacked, being medium sized and compact. Her shoulders are well laid, she is well off for forechest, she is deep though body with well sprung ribs and moderate tuck up. Rear quarters are muscular, with well let down hocks. She came into her own on the move today, and in the challenge, she upped her game to take the top spot over the lovely dog. BB & BOB
