I would like to thank the WELKS Committee for this appointment. My sincere thanks also go to the two wonderful stewards for their efficient and cheerful assistance throughout the day, which ensured the ring ran smoothly.

Thank you to all exhibitors for their entry which was pleasing overall with exhibits showing many of the breed’s characteristic features, particularly in head properties, bone, and coat texture. Temperaments throughout were sound and typical.

1ST 3807 - Sh Ch Testeverde Enrico Caruso del Jocagil (Mr & Mrs T J Gill) Veteran of pleasing type. Well balanced all through, presenting a pleasing overall outline. Good head with correct planes, giving a typical expression. Front shows straight, well-boned forelegs; feet could be better, lacking some tightness. Body in keeping with the breed and shown in suitable condition for age. Strong, very good rear quarters, which help maintain soundness and stability on the move.

2ND 3799 - Stagerun Kestrel (Mr I Collett) A worthy second in this class. Head OK, though a little short in muzzle which detracts slightly from overall breed type. Good, straight forelegs with plenty of bone, giving a solid front. Coat of good, correct texture and well presented. Not quite the overall balance of the winner, but still a sound exhibit. Moved well, maintaining a steady and typical action.

1ST 3831 - Affilato Bullseye (Mrs L & Mr M E Smith) A promising youngster of correct type. Correct head and eye, giving a typical expression. Strong neck flowing into well-laid shoulders, presenting a balanced outline for age. Strong, straight forelegs with good bone, standing on good, tight feet. Coat of good, correct texture. A well-made puppy with plenty to like at this stage.

2ND 3820 - Affilato Luke The Nuke at Krismoor (Miss C J Littlemore) Good head and eye, giving a typical expression. Straight, well-boned forelegs providing a solid front for age. Could benefit from more coat development at this stage. A promising puppy who should improve with maturity.

2ND 3826 - Michiamo Billy Wizz at Delpavone (Miss S A Peacock) Very similar in head to the winner. Just needs time to mature and not quite the same balance at present. Shows good bone and substance. Strong hocks, giving support behind. Overall, a promising youngster who should improve with development.

1ST 3814 - Piacente Uomo Saggio (Mr G & Mrs M James) Preferred head of the two. A well-balanced dog of substance, presenting a solid outline. Well-boned legs and strong quarters, with hocks well let down. Moved well, showing a steady and purposeful action.

2ND 3833 - Lucoru Fire and Ice for Dewdhala (Mrs D & Mr D Wagh) Correct head and eye, giving a typical expression. Shows good leg bone, providing substance. Not as balanced as one.

Deep chest, presenting substance and maturity for age. A little longer in back and hock than ideal, but a quality youngster overall.

2ND 3791 - Osulf Peanuts Barney (Ms N Blanchard) A little broader in skull than the winner. Good bone, but overall a slightly heavier-made exhibit throughout.

Strong, well-boned legs and good feet. A well-balanced body with well-muscled quarters. Not showing his best today, but still a quality exhibit with sound construction throughout.

2ND 3788 - Affilato Jump with Style at Rydonmist (Miss D & Mr L Beecham & Sharp) Good head with a nice, tight eye, giving a typical expression. Strong, straight forelegs and good feet. Not as strong behind as the winner, which slightly affects overall balance and drive. A quality exhibit with some positive breed features.

Muzzle of good depth with large nostrils, almost round eye giving a typical kind expression. Strong, moderate neck showing no throatiness. Shoulders strong and well laid back. Forelegs straight and well boned, with good feet. Well-proportioned body, with a well-muscled broad croup, good second thigh, and good bend of stifle. Moved freely and with ease, maintaining his outline well on the move. CC.

2ND 3796 - Sh Ch/nld Ch Affilato You Can Bank On It JW (Ms J & Mr L & Mrs C Clark & Sharp & Sharp) Another of excellent breed type. Head shows all the characteristics of the breed, giving a typical expression. Good depth all through, with substance and strength throughout the frame. Just not the same overall balance as the winner, but still a quality exhibit deserving of Reserve CC.

2ND 3790 - Stowledge Quintet (Mr M T E & Mrs J Bevan & Thompson) Not the head of the winner, but has a good neck showing no throatiness. Good lay of shoulder. A little lighter in bone than the winner and not as balanced overall at this stage. A developing youngster with time on its side.

2ND 3824 - Scodinzolare Pesche (Mrs L Mortimer) Again, correct head and eye giving a typical expression. Good front assembly, providing a solid foundation. Just needs to strengthen in quarters to complete the overall picture. A promising youngster.

Moderate, well-muscled neck flowing into good lay of shoulder and good return of upper arm. Straight forelegs with strong oval bone and tight elbows. Nothing overdone, with moderate angulation and a good second thigh. Moved freely with a sound, easy action.

2ND 3835 - Lajatico Bobini (Mr A K & Mrs J K Wain) Moderate neck with good front assembly. Not as balanced as one overall, but a sound exhibit with some positive breed qualities.

Forequarters with well laid back shoulders and strong, straight, well-boned legs with strong pasterns. topline, unexaggerated overall. Croup slightly slopes to set of tail. Broad thighs with good bend of stifle and well let down hocks. Moved freely and in a relaxed manner. Excellent coat. BCC. BOB.

2ND 3830 - Inostricani Sky’s The Limit at Milisimo (Mr M J Sandy) Another of good breed type. Good head and eye giving a typical expression. Just not the same overall balance as the winner, but still a sound and typical exhibit with positive breed qualities.
