Manchester Dog Show Society
My thanks to the committee of Manchester Championship Show for this special invite to judge Challenge Certificates in PMD, also thanks to my two wonderful stewards, Sara and Roy for their relaxed yet professional stewarding. Final thanks to all the exhibitors for their sportsmanship and presenting their dogs in tip top condition, coming from a coated breed I have an appreciation, on a much smaller scale, of what it takes to keep a coat clean in wet winter months and to keep the body condition required.

1st: 8294 CARTER, Miss S Jumicar Don't Stop Me Now. A delightful start to judging with this junior lad, well presented with a nice head with good pigment. He covered the ground easily, yet he just needs to tighten on the move and this should come as he matures.
Class 3074 PGD NO ENTRIES
Class 3075 LD (2 Entries) Abs: 1
1st: 8312 REILLY, Lady S Mangrove Xiphos Spartan Swordsman At Darmaror Jw – impressive lad with much to like. Good head proportions, with dark pigment. Strong neck leading into well placed shoulders and correctly angulated front with good rear angulation too, firm topline and muscled loin. Super side profile, both stood and on the move.
Class 3076 OD (4 Entries) Abs: 0
What a great class of males, it wasn’t easy to place these super chaps, all had their own qualities.
1st: 8311 POLLARD, Mrs G & MAGGS, Mrs K M E Ch Gillandant Thief Of Hearts At Dewyche Shcex, I judge him before a few years ago and he was super then, today he was just as impressive. He’s got the most fabulous of outlines and his silhouette is no denying he is a Pyrenean and, as the standard states, “powerful and imposing dog….great size, strongly built” and this sums up this 6 year old mature dog. His presence in the ring is evident, however on closer examination I appreciated his finer points; his strong head with slight stop, his strong muzzle of correct length, his eye shape and pigment, his neck of decent length. His front assembly is correct and balanced to his well angulated rear. He holds his topline on the stance and move and has a short muscular loin and correct tails set. On the move he is steady yet covers the ground effortlessly with his rear drive, all this and he is covered in the most wonderful of harsh coats, presented impeccably yet no evidence of products or alteration. He was so deserving of the CC and really pushed the bitch hard for BOB.
2nd: 8306 JASPER, Mrs Nicola Pafaxen Rewrite The Stars – a rising star who at 2years old didn’t have the maturity of the class winner however age is only one factor and this boy is class. He has a balance head, strong neck leading into good shoulder and front angulation, short muscled loin and good tailset, rear angulation to match his front. On the move he was so positive, free and unflagging as the standard requires, powerful rear ensured he covered the ground easily and to top it off he was clean in all directions. Covered in an immaculate coat and handled so well. Deserving of being a champion.
3rd: 8308 KENYON, Mrs Christine & WARD, MR ARTHUR Ch Charibere Simply The Sequel At Kaianna JW
Class 3077 VD (1 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 8298 CUBELLO, Mrs K Night Owl – nice outline both stood and on the move. He really took my eye in the ring and showed little sign of age and at 9.5 years he was fit and in muscled condition. Strong bone, nice head with good pigment and ear placement. A super gent deserving of Best Veteran.
Class 3078 SBB NO ENTRIES
Class 3079 PB (2 Entries) Abs: 0
Two littermates who were similar in many ways.
1st: 8293 BAVERSTOCK, Mrs Yvonne & BAVERSTOCK, Mr Ian Kalkasi Eternal Destiny, this youngster appeared to love her time in the ring and made her handler work hard. A puppy showing promise. Feminine head with a super expression, dark pigment and puppy personality. Good neck leading to the required front angulation. On the move she didn’t quite concentrate at all times however when she did she moved well.
2nd: 8292 BAVERSTOCK, Mrs Yvonne & BAVERSTOCK, Mr Ian Kalkasi The Eternal Quest – more schooled than her sister so she showed herself off a little more than the winner. She had a lovely profile and shapely outline, feminine throughout.
Class 3080 JB (2 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 8313 TADD, Mrs S A Chia Apaltasunez Avec Kricarno (imp Czech Republic), not in full jacket today but super texture and well presented. Balanced feminine head with medium muzzle and correct bite. Nice outline with correct topline, croup and tailset. Moved well, had the better rear of the two in the class.
2nd: 8295 CARTER, Mr Mike Roy & CARTER, MRS JULIE Jumicar She's A Killer Queen – Typical outline on this feminine girl, ok for bone and well-toned throughout and covered in a lovely coat. Good side gait and easily covered the ground.
Class 3081 PGB (1 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 8307 KENNEDY, Mrs Tracy & KENNEDY, Mrs PJ Gamuvel Patou Via Dell Amore At Pyrcot (imp Lva) – super outline on this girl with good bone and covered in a nice coat. Feminine expression with correct bite. Correct front and rear angulation allowing for a good side gait on the move. Firm topline both stood and on the move.
Class 3082 LB (2 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 8297 COCHRANE, Mrs Dawn E Uttara Du Pyrdanti Myatoksci (imp Fra) – super expression on this feminine girl. Covers the ground and in fit toned condition, covered in a harsh coat. Well handled to get the best from her.
Class 3083 OB (6 Entries) Abs: 1 – this was the class of the day, all 5 of these ladies are from the top drawer, super examples of PMD.
1st: 8303 GIBSON, Mrs S Ch Ir Ch Lux Ch Int Ch Febus Anapeou JW OSW ShCEx – wow, what an impressive girl! She oozed ring presence, imposing yet so feminine she really stands out. Her movement is so impressive, super side gait, moving away and back is spot on and she covers the ground so easily. The ring was a fair size but I can only imagine what this girl could move like on a large grassed ring. Super head piece, expressive eyes, excellent pigment, correct neck and excellent topline with short muscular loin. Strong bone, muscled and so toned throughout and covered in a harsh coat. Her handler got the best from her at every opportunity. In the BOB challenge she just gave a bit more on the move. Later in the day she put on a polished performance in the group.
2nd: 8310 MCBAIN, Miss Suzie & HOLMES, Miss Lisa Ch Polar Light Pride Of America (imp Usa) JW - Unfortunate to meet the winner who just had a little more maturity and oomph on the move today. Super balanced shape, firm topline, with a muscled loin and correct croup. Another who was so feminine, with almond eyes and good pigment. On the move she was easy to watch with drive from the rear from her correct angulation., true coming and going and free standing showing off her balance body on good feet. RCC
3rd: 8296 CHURCH, Miss Claire & BAMFORD, Mr Richard Ch Pafaxen A Million Dreams JW
