BICHON FRISE

Judge - Lynda Byrne (Eithlynn)

Many thanks to the officers and committee of the NEETDS for inviting me to judge Bichons at this very friendly and well run show and to the exhibitors for a good entry of quality exhibits. Thanks also to my very efficient steward Brian Turnbull for keeping everything running smoothly.

It was wonderful to see several new exhibitors in the breed and I wish them all a very happy and successful time showing their beautiful Bichons.

Special Beginners Dog (1)

 1. Rudd's Deizi My Cupids Bow.

Quality 10 month old dog. Nicely presented coat of correct texture. Superb head proportions with nice sized dark eye and dark pigmentation throughout. A bit excitable on the table and on the move but settled sufficiently for me to ascertain a well balanced dog with good front and rear angulation. With maturity and more Ringcraft training he should hopefully do well. BSB

Veteran Dog (1)

 1. Mault's Ch. Limartine Mr Blue.

7 and a half year old and in such excellent coat and condition with the deepest of pigment it belies his veteran age. Well balanced throughout and moved effortlessly round the ring. Good head proportions with such a lovely expression. Good length of neck and well laid back shoulders. RDCC. BVIB.

Puppy Dog (2)

 1. Parkinson & Stokes Delbrupar The Gambler.

10 month old very promising young dog. Correct proportions and balance throughout. Excellent pigmentation. Good front, neck length and shoulders. Good body, depth of rib and well muscled hindquarters. Beautifully presented correctly textured coat. Moved so well in all directions. BPIB and I was delighted to see him go on to win BPIS.

 2. Rudd's Deizi My Cupids Bow.

Junior Dog (3)

 1. Moss's Quissmar Lightning Chaser for Mamose.

Excellent head and eye proportions giving a most beautiful expression. Nice size and well balanced. Dark pigmentation. Well presented quality coat. Moved well in profile but a little close behind which hopefully with maturity will rectify.

 2. Beater's Yngles Jago Van De Dyksteinhoeve Of Starforth. Imp Bel.

Another quality young male. Lovely profile movement. Nice texture of coat which was well presented. I just preferred the head proportions and deeper pigmentation of 1.

 3. Treanor's Ardmoyles Ring Of Fire.

Limit Dog (2,1)

 1. Parkinson & Stokes. Freaking Awesome Made By Angel. Imp Srb.

Good head proportions which I feel would be even better with a slightly larger eye. Excellent pigmentation. Well laid back shoulders and good rear angulation giving him good movement in all directions.

Open Dog (2,1)

 1. Mault & Coad's Limartine Stand And Stare.

A top quality dog oozing breed type and typical Bichon character. So soundly constructed which showed on the move. Masculine head with correct proportions. Nice sized dark eye. Excellent pigmentation. Good reach of neck into well laid back shoulders. Shown in tip top condition and beautifully presented. DCC & BOB and I was very happy to see him go on to win BIS 3.

Veteran Bitch (2)

 1. Parkinson's Jaimens Petrichor.

10 year old very pretty feminine girl. Well balanced and moved so well. Lovely head proportions. Nice sized dark eye and such a beautiful expression. Pigment good. Beautifully presented but would benefit from a little weight loss.

 2. Pike & Carter's Deizi Miss Tinkerbell At Cartike.

7 and a half year old and another very pretty girl with such a happy outgoing temperament. A little shorter in neck than 1 and pigment not as strong. Good front and rear angulation and moved well. Very well presented but also sporting a bit too much 'middle aged spread'.

Puppy Bitch (1)

 1. Carr's Bowiechons Rebelrebel.

Very pretty feminine 10 months old. Ideal size and so well balanced and proportioned throughout with the deepest of pigment. Very good angulation front and rear. Moved well but unfortunately was lacking in confidence and kept dropping her tail.

Junior Bitch (3,1)

 1. Pike & Carters Cartike Dreamer.

Pretty girl with good head proportions. Large dark eyes. Good texture of coat. Needs a bit more neck length to balance and tail set a little low but very sound front and rear.

 2. Treanor's Ladykillers Bark Like A Lady Act Like A Queen.

A finer built very feminine girl. Nicely balanced with lovely head proportions and a beautiful expression. Good neck length and moved out well. Unfortunately out of coat on the day but otherwise a very nice little Bichon.

Post Graduate Bitch (1)

 1. Price's Louisianna Bonnie Wee Lass.

A smaller but still correct sized girl. Quite dainty and feminine. Nicely proportioned head. Very pretty. Well presented and coat of a nice texture. Moved well.

Limit Bitch (2.1)

 1. Innes Pearlwhite Amazing Grace

Nice head and expression. Moved soundly keeping a level top line.

Open Bitch (4)

 1. Coad's Limartine Wait and See At Pamplona.

A thoroughly sound, honest bitch with nothing overdone. Just like her litter brother, who I awarded the DCC to, she oozes breed type and quality. Excellent in size, shape and proportions. Well balanced throughout. Has the sweetest of expressions and showing a true happy and lively Bichon temperament. BCC

 2. Carr's Petit Ami's Countin' On A Miracle Bowiechons.

Another quality bitch out of the top drawer. The most beautiful head and expression and moved beautifully. I was definitely splitting hairs between 1 & 2. RBCC

 3. Treanor's Yuran White Ginger Snap.
