Breed: Anatolian Shepherd Dog

CRUFTS

5th March 2026

Anatolian Shepherd Dog

Many thanks to the Crufts Committee for the invite to judge this breed. It was amazing to discover the breed people still remembered that I had one “back in the day”. It was lovely to be around the breed again, and many thanks to the exhibitors for entering and for the handlers for stepping in when needed. The breed is still very typical to what it was, and the dogs seemed to enjoy their day out. It was a long day for them, and I think when they got in the ring, it was yippee!

1st Sunlions Galip Gladyator (Miss K Stewart) - 3 year old red fawn with black mask, just needs to strengthen up touch overall, I would like a slightly dark eye, but has a good skull and ear set, nice stifle good ribbing with plenty of heart room, strong loin, his top line could be firmer, nice and parallel when stood, just needs to settle a touch on the move, was enjoying himself.

2nd Asalet Devvi (Miss T Mcalester) - 18 months old, grey fawn with black mask, with good bone and substance, like the strength of head, pleasing eye and colour, feet quite flat at the moment, would like a touch more spring of rib to give more heart room, but strong loin, nice rear and good tailset, again just needs to settle on the move.
