KING CHARLES SPANIELS
JUDGE MARILYN TUESLEY
I would like to thank the officers and the committee for asking me to
step forward in place of Mrs. Joyce Wilson who was originally
scheduled to judge this breed. Unfortunately she was unable to attend
last minute due to ill health. We wish her a speedy recovery. SWKA
always holds a well- run and welcoming show and this year was no
exception. I would also like to thank my steward John for his keeping
us moving along.

Beautiful feminine head with melting dark round eyes. Proper
placement of the eyes and nose gave her the cushioning required for a
Charlie’s head. The ear placement with long flowing feathering added
to the complete picture, nice moderate neck, nice shoulder placement
and good straight strong legs with level level topline. Good turn of stifle
with strong hocks. Moves around the ring with elegance. Pleased to
award her RBCC as well as BV. Congratulations for the Veteran’s
Group 2 placement.
MINOR PUPPY BITCH (2 – 1 absent)

This 7 month old Tricolour was a lovely size with a very feminine
appearance. A promising head of good size and shape for her age.
Moderate neck leading to a short level back with both nice rib and
good bone. Good shoulder placement and nice short hocks . She
moved out well back and front and was clearly enjoying herself.
Pleased to award her Best Puppy (BP)
PUPPY BITCH ( 5 – 1 absent)
1ST – Mr. R S & Mrs. R K Baker – Shining Star Over Crofton – This
10
month old Blenheim was a very well put together bitch. (One to watch
in the future I believe) She was a lovely size with just the right amount
of bone. Her head is soft in expression adding to her femininity with
lovely dark eyes. The top of her nose is centred to the middle of the eye
and she is already turning up to make the correct cushioning. Carried a
short level back with good top line that held throughout her movement.
A very balanced bitch who in my mind just missed out on best puppy
as did not show as well in the challenge.

2nd – Mrs. L Ratter Baldragon - Midnight Wish For Seafar –
Another nice 10 month old Tricolour of nice appropriate size with good
bone and substance. She had a nice size head with rise and width over
lovely round dark eyes. Her nose has not yet started to go back so still
needs to cushion up but with the width of jaw and lips meeting I feel
she just needs some more time. Her body had both a level topline and
good rib. Nice shoulder placement Moved out well another nice girl.

eyes giving a very pleasing head indeed. Good arch of neck with
correct shoulder placement and a short back with good rib cage. Great
angulated rear completed the package She moved very well but did
not make the best of herself when standing. While she stood alone in
this class the 1st place was well deserved.
OPEN BITCH (5 – 2 absent)
1st - Mr. P F Lovel – Ch Lovetrac Kamilla A beautiful 3 year old
Tricolour Charlie in a smaller package. She walked into the showring
and demanded attention. She was “on” from the beginning of judging
to the end. This feminine girl is the complete package. Her head is full
of Charlie style judged from all angles. There is a good dome full over
the eyes which are well set, dark and round. The nose is tilted back to
meet the centre of the eyes. Her well cushioned lips meet perfectly
with enough width of jaw. Moving down the body there is good arch of
neck and nice shoulder placement. She moves on good straight legs

carry her topline level the entire time in the ring. Beautiful movement in
the rear added to her quick and free movement around the ring. I was
very happy to award her BCC and BOB.
