Just a few observations – I was disappointed to find some incorrect bites & several misplaced canines, I had none last time I judged. Also, many overweight dogs, many exhibits lacking any muscle tone. It costs nothing to get us all fit. That said, thank you for a lovely quality entry with few absentees, under such hot conditions & slippery ground all dogs were so tolerant. Big thanks to my hard-working stewards.

1ST - Stagerun Kestrel (Mr I Collett) - Masculine, solid B/R of 7 yrs, balanced in head & body, good depth of chest & underline. Coarse coated with thick leathery skin. Tight feet standing 4 square naturally. Tidy strong mover holding topline. Presented in good form.

1ST- Stowledge Sergio of Blymara (Mrs R Blythe) – B/R of rustic appearance approaching 10 mnths he is well developed in body. His Head qualities really appealed. Having dark round large eyes and a super spongy nose to finish off. This lad is strongly limbed and stands on large compact feet. With positive parallel footfall and didn't disappoint in profile with well-set tail from his sloping croup giving horizontal tail carriage. Great harsh jacket completes the picture. Sympathetically handled I’m sure a bright future ahead.BP
2ND - Affilato Luke The Nuke at Krismoor (Miss C J Littlemore) – mature for his 9 mnths & full of substance. He has well defined head qualities with kind eyes. Liked this boys front – shoulders, excellent prominent breastbone, has good width, breadth & tidy elbows. Strong bone for his size & large feet. His back is broad & held his tail correctly, sound free mover.
3RD - Riccini Calaf with Jackendaw (Ms D Valentine)
RES - Affilato Bullseye (Mrs L & Mr M E Smith)
202. Italian Spinone - Junior Dog

1ST - Michiamo Vivvy Wizz (Miss L & Mrs J & Ms V Mayne & Anderson & Steere) – Squarely built. Head of equal skull/muzzle ratio, his eyes need to darken but he has time. Nice crest of neck & unexaggerated dewlap. Ok for bone onto compact tight feet. Decent depth of body & spring of ribs. Good length of thigh & bend of stifle, broad back, he moved out well, held his topline & was unfazed in the heat.
2ND - Montecani Back to The Freezo (Miss T L Davies) – Divergent head planes being lean skulled & rooflike with pronounced occiput from any angle. His shortish neck merges smoothly into well placed shoulders. I like his size & almost square shape. He stands 4 square with width behind giving him precise footfall & being well muscled has drive. He has all the breed characteristics just needs time.
3RD - Affilato Play with Fire (Miss G Anstis)
RES - Brewnel Barr by Stowledge (Mrs S A & Miss E Barrett)
203. Italian Spinone - Graduate Dog

1ST - Piacente Uomo Saggio (Mr G & Mrs M James) – very masculine, he has quite a lot of head/facial hair which deters the quality of his head & he uses his ears which doesn’t help. His eyes are dark & he has a lovely roman nose, his neck is short with unexaggerated dewlap. He has good width through his body, strong bone & a gentle fall & rise of topline. His jacket is harsh textured. Pleased to see another youngster with strong straight pasterns when viewed behind. He has good width of thigh, moved with purpose & at one with his handler, my best special beginner.
204. Italian Spinone - Post Graduate Dog
Entries: 4 Absentees: 0
1ST - Stowledge Soul of Blymara (Mrs R Blythe) – this B/R is maturing into a handsome strong lad, head in total proportion. Brown eyes to compliment his coat shade. I was particularly drawn to his strong well laid shoulders, tidy elbows & minimal tuck up, overall nice shape & super tail set coming off sloping broad croup. Ok for bone & strong in rear pastern. Really leathery close fitting skin. Jacket harsh, moved with ease.
2ND - Diggmere Baby Bear (Mr P & Miss D Mills & Watts) – another B/R not a lot of coat but what he has is of correct texture. Super head qualities & such a kind tight eye. Nothing exaggerated about this lad, good depth & breadth of chest & neat elbows. Good ribbing set well back giving strong loin. Balanced angulation front & back producing good reach in movement.
3RD- Tolosa Tallegio (Miss A & Mr D Falberg & Buckley)
RES - Tintibel This Is The One (Mrs A J & Mr M J Etches)

1ST - Rossetti at Stowledge (Imp Ita) (Mr M T E & Mrs J Bevan & Thompson), so pleased to get my hands on this lad & didn’t disappoint. So balanced. Strong all through carrying just the right weight. He has a slightly sloping stop & defined median furrow, his muzzle is square & his eye is kind. Ears of correct set & length. With a strong neck & gentle fall & rise of topline. Well off for bone on superb large feet. Like his well-spaced shoulder blades & prominent breastbone. Has depth of chest, good length of ribbing & his width & length of thigh & bend of stifle is spot on. Powerful mover from all angles. I wish I had 2 CCs! Had to take RCC today.
2ND- Inostricani Time Will Tell (Mrs L Rossiter) – what a shame this boy didn’t want to co-operate on the move today. Turned out to perfection his coat is such good texture right down to his large feet with arched toes! He has a beautiful oval head, correct divergence & a short strong neck. He has strong shoulders, strong bone throughout, plenty of spring of rib & correct minimal tuck up. Strong in pasterns. Superb width across his back, so solid & balanced.
3RD- Diggmere Marys Chi Bloom (Ms 0 & Mr P Mcgregor & Wright)
RES- Jaylynne Luther (Miss L Smith)

1ST- Sh Ch Rubino Spinone del Mucrone with Riccini (Imp Ita) (Mrs S & Mr P & Mr C Whittingham & Wright & Bexon) – Well what a pleasure to judge this robust workmanlike lad, hard to believe he hasn’t reached maturity yet. The muscle tone on this dog is visible! He is almost square, totally balanced & excels with the best of front angulation & rear to match no wonder he has such effortless uninhibited movement, he is in tip top condition. His head has all the required breed specifics with eyes that melt you. For me he has the strength & substance required yet unexaggerated. DCC & BOB What a delight to watch him take RBIS in such strong competition, totally unfazed by the heat.
2ND- Sh Ch Diggmere Tiger Swallowtail JW ShCEx OSW (Mrs S Duncan) – Well he really has matured, this lad is really rustic, a lot to like although a tad longer in body than 1. Super head planes with gorgeous eye colour complimenting his coat & I like the arch of muzzle with large open nostril in that spongy nose. He has a strong neck leading smoothly to his unexaggerated topline. Really well off for oval bone & deep with substance all through his body, strong back with close skin & harsh textured jacket, he has decent muscle tone particularly over his shoulders & well angulated quarters. He moves on a good stride with accuracy with perfect tail set carried horizontal. A really solid masculine chap. I was delighted to have such a strong quality entry of Males.
3RD - Sh Ch Gradevole Strufolli (Mrs G Robinson)

1ST- Quebaikei Russian Blizzard (ai) (Mrs S Burrows) large solid girl of 8 yrs. Lovely feminine head would like some hair out to see her gorgeous eyes! Strong in neck & shoulder. She has plenty of bone, she is deep in body with ample spring of rib, very well angulated in rear. She has leathery thick skin & coarse coat. Moved with purpose. Preferred her head over the Male for BV
2ND- Stagerun Skylark (Ms J E Fry) Smaller all through but in perfect proportion, carrying ideal body condition, honest bitch with super round compact feet, good dense coat, she has desired width behind moving well with accurate footfall but preferred head of 1.

209. Italian Spinone - Minor Puppy Bitch

1ST- Feriiia Neera (Mr A D & Mrs K T Hastings) – approaching 7 mnths everything in the right place. So well behaved. Her head is developing well, more coat out would show it off to advantage. Her neck has unexaggerated dewlap & merges smoothly into withers. She is ok for bone & stands squarely on decent shaped feet. I like her body substance for this stage of development. moved out freely holding her tail correctly.
2ND - Fioralba Oakey Dokey (Mrs J L Chamberlain) – A day off 7 mths, very feminine headed, another that has neck merging smoothly into withers, with width of shoulder blades, she is already deepening in chest, albeit a tad long in body but her coat is developing a harsh texture. I like her ample bend of stifle & width of thigh. She took her time to get into trot but when she did she held a good profile.
210. Italian Spinone - Puppy Bitch

1ST - Riccini Carmen (Mrs S & Mr P Whittingham & Wright) – Lovely solid pup of nearly 10 months, square shape complimented with a well-defined & balanced head showing pronounced occiput. Ochre eye shade. Front on she has strong parallel boned limbs with good width of chest already having depth. She is broad in back has a super sloping croup with a really thick tail. Excellent muscle for a baby & has width of thigh. I am really pleased that very few had untidy hocks today. Positive free mover with a happy disposition. Presented in clean condition. Another I am sure with a bright future. My BPB
2ND- Mynaniz Lipari del Jamborob (Ms S Howe) – Although she is a tad longer in loin, this B/R of nearly 11 mnths has an appealing head. she hasn’t quite the depth of chest as 1 but she is neat in elbows. No denying her strong bone structure, not quite the coat yet but its coming in coarse textured, when she fills her frame she should present an honest Spinone. She has super bend of rear stifle. Good profile movement retaining her strong topline.
3RD - Dora from Plum The Ally at Emeraldglen (Miss E Riley)

1ST - Benevelo Stella Fortunata (Mrs K & Mr R Holt) – very pleasing B/R only just out of puppy. Strong in bone yet with the most beautiful head, lovely divergence & skull/muzzle ratio. Great eyebrows! Her ears are correctly set (corner of eyes) & of adequate length. She has decent spring of rib, broad backed, substance to this girl with minimal tuck up. Liked her tail set, flowing fall & rise of topline, she is well angulated behind, moved with ease, my surprise of the day, a quality youngster.
2ND - Scodinzolare Pesche (Mrs L Mortimer) Attractive 15mnth stylish moving bitch. She has a quality head of oval shape with correct divergence. Her eyes are large & expressive. Square muzzled. She has a short strong crested neck. She is strong in front with deep well sprung ribbing, would prefer them further back so she is a tad long in loin. I like her strong bone structure & width of thigh. Her coat is harsh all over. She is just a little bum high at present,

She is well off for bone & stands on tight feet, plenty of width across her back. She moved with purpose.
2ND- Connomar Ramacca with Bardantop (Mr P Guest) – Rustic B/R of lower height range. I really like this workmanlike bitch, enough bone, deep bodied, strong straight limbs, good ribbing, strong pasterns, great width behind. Easy mover, difficult choice with these 2 but today head of 1 had the edge.

She is well balanced has a beautiful lean head with eyes that melt me. She is kept in great condition her coat is harsh & dense. Squarish outline with that rustic appearance. I love her strong sloping croup with the perfect set of tail which never comes above the horizontal. That sausage certainly did the trick, she had some stride today.
