Breed: YKC Members Stakes

YKC Members Stakes Gundog and Toy (Day One)

Gundog

1st Clubb, Mason & Angus Oroshaza Bernard – H Vizsla

9 mth old, well put together for his age, standing stacked is not always his fortune but on the move he flows with consummate ease. Shoulders well laid, rear works in harmony with his front. Masculine head without any coarseness, good neck, chest well developed with good depth. Bit a handful at times but well handled

2nd Leitch Olajafi Angel’s Dream of Souterlight - Barbet

Well constructed with substantial bone and hard and defined muscle. Coat very well presented, natural appearance however on the neck it did obscure its presence a shade. Good balanced head, defined stop and pleasing eyes. Moved well however had a tendency to allow the rear to overpower the front at times. Nonetheless still an impressive representative of the breed

3rd Welburn & Angus Elgert Queen of Hearts to Sparkenhoe – Field Spaniel

Toy

1st Patterson, Patterson & Patterson Pekehuis Sweet Dreams of Bratilda – Peke

Nicely constructed 16 mth old male. Not yet in a full coat but underneath the construction is spot on, Lovely head, good shape to his clean eyes, firm jaw, and a short strong neck. Broad chest with well sprung ribs, tidy elbows and well muscled throughout. Typical movement and carries himself with grace and dignity.

2nd Lee-Slater & Burke Ch Graycaz Etienne

There is no doubting his quality, obviously a worthy champion but on the table he was shivering and a little hunched. On the move he was sound enough, but a shade stilted. One has to judge dogs on the day, he simply wasn’t on his top form, but I’m sure if it has been warmer he would have given a better account of himself.

YKC Members Stakes Hound and Utility (Day Two)

Hound

1st Cooper, O’Brien & O’Brien Ch Jayanel Royal Affair at Katillien –GBGV

Fills the eye from the moment he enters the ring, has a real show presence Beautifully balanced, well muscled and boned throughout, great texture to coat and carries himself with pride. Faultless moment, covers the ground with ease Put down to perfection and so well handled too.

2nd Wilson Falconcrag Made You Look – Whippet

Lives up to her name for sure. Loved the symmetry of her outline, Very pleasing feminine head, lovely depth of chest, super topline and on the move she gives a sense of elegance but also that she could use the power of her nicely muscled rear to take off at any moment.

3rd Richardson Teckletown Elton John – MSH Dachshund

Utility

1st Hunter, Allen & Hunter Whitewreath Cashmere Casakura – Akita

Strongly built male, masculine head without coarseness, pleasing eyes, has that ability to stare at judge as if to say look at me. Structurally he is well boned throughout. Good depth to chest, well sprung ribs, and a sound topline which he kept both moving and standing. Front and rear angles as they should be, had fluid ground covering movement.

2nd Rault Santosha King Of The Lions – Shih Tzu

There is a lot to like about this one although he still has some way to go towards maturity. Very pleasing correct head, with clean eyes. True expression, he’s important and he knows it. Decent depth to chest and spring of ribs, nicely laid shoulders, muscular rear and this shows well on the move, free flowing, pads clearly seen as he goes away.

3rd Cooper, Ottens & Ottens Ch Susu The Brightest Star – Tib Spaniel

YKC Members Stakes Terrier, Working and Pastoral (Day Three)

Terrier

1st Gleve Lemajac Cassiopeia - Lakeland Terrier

Demands attention from the moment she enters the ring. Lovely outline, clean lines, top notch presentation, not a hair out of place. Nicely balanced head, keen eyes which miss nothing, and permanently on her toes. Good neck, well laid shoulders firm topline. Nicely muscled rear quarters, neat feet, moves with a definite sense of purpose. Very well handled.

Working

1st Kerrigan & Kerrigan Kalaslane Nutty Irishman for Halaura(IKC) – RBT

Certainly large and imposing, but he has a lot to go with it. Large broad skull, strong and correctly proportioned muzzle, decent sized black nose. Good set to both eyes and ears. Deep chest with good spring to rib. Rear strong, low set hocks. Good muscle and bone throughout, coat well prepared and presented. Movement was a pleasure to watch.

2nd Kent & Kent Lyfearon Off With Her Head ShEx - Siberian Husky

Pleasing frame and outline, very nicely balanced and in harmony. Feminine head, sweet keen expression, well muscled throughout without any sign of heaviness. Good neck and well placed shoulders, firm topline, nicely angulated rear. There are times when she is moving, it almost looks like she is floating on air, completely effortless yet still covering ground.

3rd Thom Katabatics Bounty Hunter – Alaskan Malamute

Pastotal

1st Waldron & Gray There Is Something About De Chester at Snowmead (Imp Fra) – Bearded Collie

Very honest in type. Presents a clean and unexaggerated outline. Has a very workman-like approach to the job in hand. Feminine head, lovely expression, good neck and shoulders, firm topline both moving and standing, and watching her gait is a pleasure, so effortless, fluid and smooth. Coat of good texture and well presented and handled

2nd Lee & Ratcliffe Sh Ch Arrodare Rebel Without A Cause JW

Close up to the winner, had to split hairs to separate them. Nothing to dislike or I would wish to change about her. Lovely outline, sweet head, watchful eye which misses nothing. Nicely proportioned, firm lean muscle throughout and like the winner, so lovely to watch on the move , effortless quite she could do a days work, and them some.

3rd Johnson & Walker Ch, Int, Fr, Lux & Swiss Ch Tooralie Pie in The Sky – Sheltie
