I give my sincere thanks to the Officers and Committee for the invitation to judge the males at this friendly show. 1. Retriever (Golden) - Baby Puppy Dog - Entries: 5 Absentees: 1

1ST 53 - Ambersun Another Adventure (ai) (Mr G & Mrs T Foreman)

This young boy shows such promise and came into the ring with lots of confidence. He has a super head and eye, excels in front construction and has lots of depth and correct width for his age. He is well developed in first and second thigh with hocks well let down. He moved sound and steady enjoying his experience. He was just pipped to the post for Best Baby Puppy in Show by a super female that was just a little more together.

2ND 161 - Ambersun Christmas Cracker (Mr Wallington)

Another very promising young man, half brother to my winner I see. He has lots of personality and was very keen to please. He has a masculine head and well made in front. His hindquarters are strong and well angulated with good development to first and second thigh for his age. He moved sound with enthusiasm. Not quite the togetherness of winner at this stage.

3RD 60 - Haydengold Moment to Shine (Mrs J Gaffney)

2. Retriever (Golden) - Veteran Dog - Entries: 5 Absentees: 2

1ST 97 - Putjade Peaky Blinder at Lovissa (Mrs M C Loverock)

This mid gold mature boy impressed me for his breed type and balance. He has a masculine head and kind eye with good pigmentation. He has a strong front with plenty of depth; his body is well ribbed back to short loin and good width over the rear. He excelled in his sound movement with super reach and drive with correct width. He was in my final four for the CC.

2ND 38 - Sh Ch Monchique Imperial Beau at Emmabe JW Ir Jch (Miss E Copley)

Here is another impressive gentleman that presents a balanced outline on the stack and didn’t disappoint on handling. He oozes breed type and moves so sound holding a firm topline, he is correct in body and has strong well developed hind quarters, topped off with a quality jacket. I preferred the head and front of my winner.

3RD 162 - Wynrita School Daze (Mr Wallington)

3. Retriever (Golden) - Minor Puppy Dog - Entries: 6 Absentees: 1

A very mixed class

1ST 49 - Putjade Popster (Mrs E & Mr M Evans)

This mid gold was the most mature in this class and showed the best balance at this stage, keeping it together on the move. He has a masculine head and a pleasing front assembly, adequate body for his age with good depth through. His quarters are thick and strong, moved sound with style.

2ND 63 - Navilis Shchedryk (Imp Ukr) (Mrs J Gerhold)

This boy is more my type but has a big frame to fill and needs time to do it. He has a super masculine head, kind eye and rich pigmentation. He has a super head of correct proportions and strong pigmentation. He has a strong front assembly with correct length to upper arm and plenty of depth for age He is correct in body with ribs extending well back to short loin and good width over the rear. A good class

1ST 10 - Louellabrook Atlantic Star with Sansue JW (Mrs S & Mrs H Birkin-Green & Gripton)

A pale gold that has a masculine head and good eye shape and colour giving that desired soft expression. He has a well made front with good depth, body that is well ribbed back to short loin. His topline is firm and level and he has lovely width over the rear. Sound on the move.

2ND 79 - Leighsham Sweeney Todd (Mr G & Mrs J Jackson-Haines)

Close up to winner, this dog has a good masculine head and kind eye. He is correct in body with ribs extending well back and plenty of depth through. He is strong in quarters with good width. Not the footfall of winner today.

3RD 45 - Lynste Dream Boy (ai) JW (Mrs L Davis)

Two super mid golds that pushed each other all the way.

A dark gold dog with a masculine head and kind expression, correct in front with good depth, well sprung in the ribs that extends well back to short loin. He has thick thighs and super width over the rear, he stands four square. I found him to be a little soft in topline today.

3RD 123 - Fenpinque Royal Rascal by Molestream (Mrs S Norris)

9. Retriever (Golden) - Undergraduate Dog - Entries: 8 Absentees: 2

Splitting hairs between the first two.

1ST 92 - Tonara Yellowstone JW (Mrs L C Linfield)

Masculine headed mid gold boy with a lovely kind dark eye. He is strong in front construction with plenty of depth to brisket, good spring of rib to short loin and super width over the rear. He stands four square on well boned legs and tight feet. He had his mind on the job and moved clean in unison with his handler.

2ND 113 - Ambersun Winter Storm (Mr N & Mrs M Mears) – Repeat

3RD 72 - Flyngalee Hunky Dory (Mr K & Mrs Ml Henson & Luckham)

10. Retriever (Golden) - Graduate Dog - Entries: 4 Absentees: 0

1ST 158 - Baricia Bella Divino JW (Mrs S & Mrs M Towers & Henderson)

This pale gold boy stood away in this class for his breed type and balance. He has an attractive masculine head with kind eye, he is well made throughout with good depth and clean angles that are plain to see when he moves. He moves sound with firm topline and striking side gait. For me he is carrying a tad excess weight.

2ND 65 - Grengold Perseus (Mrs Cr Gillan)

This dark gold mature male has an appealing masculine head with kind eye. He is correct in body with good width over the rear, his hind quarters are well muscled. He moves sound on the up and back holding a firm topline, not the reach and drive of the winner in profile.

3RD 137 - Wylloh Paddington Bear JW (Mrs S F Riley)

11. Retriever (Golden) - Post Graduate Dog - Entries: 8 Absentees: 2

A difficult decision between the first two.

1ST 68 - Tonara Moon Walk (Mrs S Gulliver)

This boy took my eye on the first look around for his breed type and balance and pleased me on handling. He has a super masculine head with good eye colour and shape. He is strong in front with plenty of depth, correct in body and has good thick first and second thighs with the width over the rear that I look for. He moved sound with good reach and drive.

2ND 32 - Tinklersroc Bon Bon (Mrs E Coad)

Close up to winner. I know it appears to be a cop out when I say they have similar attributes but it is true in this case which is why I liked them both very much. It was nip and tuck all the way between these two and I am sure they change places many times.

3RD 69 - Alibren Rock Legend for Ashiqua (Mr D J & Mr P Harvey & Anderson)

12. Retriever (Golden) - Mid Limit Dog - Entries: 9 Absentees: 2

1ST 23 - Kadaka Kauldrun JW (Mrs S, Mst E & A & Mr J Carter)

A super unexaggerated mid gold boy that stood away here and out moved the rest of the class. I loved his masculine head and kind expression, his correct front assembly, his depth and width all through his mature body. He filled my eye for breed type and balance and didn’t put a foot wrong on the move, clean, sound and steady with correct reach and drive in profile. Res cc

2ND 56 - Ambersun I'll Fly for You (Mr G & Mrs T Foreman)

Another quality dog on the stack and good to handle, he has many of the same attribute as the winner, however he could not match the footfall today.

3RD 48 - Brekswood Gentleman Jack JW (Mrs S J England)

13. Retriever (Golden) - Limit Dog - Entries: 12 Absentees: 2

1ST 74 - Ashbyglen Excalibur JW (Ms J Holmes)

A mid gold dog that caught my eye on entering the ring for his breed type and balance and did not disappoint on handling. He has a well shaped masculine head with a dark eye of correct shape, moderate neck into well laid shoulders with upper arm to match. He moved sound with good reach and drive and good width through, he holds a firm topline. In my last 4 for the cc.

2ND 36 - Amilone Corsendonk at Dikeadaze (ai) (Miss A G Cooper)

Another nice type albeit different to winner, you need to get your hands on him to appreciate his qualities make and shape. He is a pale gold with super masculine head with strong pigmentation, strong front with plenty of depth, well boned legs and neat feet. He is correct in body with the width over the rear that I look for. He moved sound holding a firm topline in profile.

3RD 32 - Tinklersroc Bon Bon (Mrs E Coad)

14. Retriever (Golden) - Open Dog - Entries: 11 Absentees: 0

A cracking class albeit fairly mixed for type. I was splitting hairs with some good dogs having to go cardless today.

1ST 64 - Navilis Vivat Vivaldi JW (Imp Ukr) (Mrs J Gerhold)

He came, I saw and he conquered. He captured me on the first look around and was not disappointed on handling. He was my benchmark and I couldn’t find anything to beat him. He is masculine and chunky without a hint of coarseness, handsome with dark well shaped eyes, rich pigmentation and an expression that draws you in. His front is text book with the desired shoulder placement and upperarm to match, he has great depth to brisket and well sprung ribs extending well back. He has thick, well muscled hind quarters with super width over the rear, stands on strong legs and neat feet. His movement is a joy to watch with correct width on the up and down, plenty of reach and drive in profile, holding a firm topline and proud head carriage. CC & BIS on referees decision.

2ND 7 - Sh Ch Balsamina Beachcomber at Darthill JW (Miss C Bawden)

Here is another pale gold quality dog that is a tad longer cast than one but has such good breed type, so well deserving of his title. He is handsome in head with super pigmentation, correct eye shape and colour, he is well made in front with plenty of depth through, strong quarters and good width over the rear, He gave a good accountability of himself on the move where he proved his correct construction and pushed the winner all the way. Considered for the res cc.

A dark gold of good breed type and super balance. He has a masculine head and kind expression. He has a well constructed front with good depth to brisket, well sprung ribs to short loin. He has ample width over the rear, moved sound.

3RD 170 - Aurgentious Dearov Im (Mrs P & Mr A Winsor-Williams & Williams)
