Judge Michelle Smee (Schnaubern)

I would like to thank the committee for inviting me, I was spoilt for choice with some very good dogs to go over.

On my observations and report to RKC, I found most dogs were fit and free in movement, most eyes were clear with no excessive haw. Mouths however are a concern, although most have width to their jaws, teeth were very small, missing and a quite a few had an undershot or level bite.

Veteran Dog (1)

1st Mr & Mrs M & K Macdonald –Ch Chedham Times are a Changin Class-

In excellent condition carrying a super head and plenty of bone, dark eyes producing a benevolent expression, full in front of eyes, Short square muzzle, stop well defined, excellent forequarters, deep chest with good width, strong neck of good length, well up on withers, still fairly strong on the rear with correct moderate bend of stifle. Moved free and smooth. BVIS

Minor puppy dog (1)

1st Mrs, Ms, Miss P R & B Forrest & Lucas – Bernmont Utrinque Paratus over Philandros-

Very much a baby, already standing tall, and plenty of bone, very balanced, head needs to widen and develop, eyes need to tighten, he’s well up on withers and back is level, already has depth and some width to his chest, there’s a lot to like about him, need to tighten up when he moves, but this will come with age.

Puppy Dog (3,1ab)

1st Ms & Mr K&C Forester & Spencer-Gray- Chandlimore Rock Robin-

This puppy is of outstanding quality; oozes breed type, good bone with a classic head, which has more width to come, dark clean eyes, good stop, and width to his muzzle, arched neck of good length and level back, strong rear and developed muscle, nicely set hocks, into good feet, movement was sound and smooth, BPIS & RCC

2nd Ms N Mokryk- Hugo's Naughty Neo at Bossbernards –

Different to first, standing taller and today out of coat, I can see a lot to like with this puppy, he has a broad head of good width and abrupt stop, eyes dark but a little loose, he has a lovely long neck into correct withers, and strength to his shoulders, chest depth is correct but needs to widen, back is level and he has a strong rear, with correct feet. Moved well.

Post Graduate dog (3,1ab)

1st Mrs Deuchar-Fawecett Saranbeck Special Envoy (AI)-

Smooth standing strong and well-muscled, carrying enough bone, he has a very nice, large head, clean dark eyes without excessive haw, short muzzle with width, skull is slightly rounded, he has a good length and strength to his neck and correct withers, standing slightly up on the rear, but moved with a level topline.

2nd Mrs & Mr Y & S N Millward & Beck –

Balanced in outline, plenty of bone and a broad head, abrupt stop to slightly rounded skull, correct dark eyes, ears slightly high, long neck and sloping shoulders, level back and moderate in the rear, best feet I've seen, out of coat today and movement wasn’t as smooth as first place.

Limit Dog (4,1ab)

1st Mr G Everton- Coldlea Midnight Sapphire –

Excellent example of the breed and in super condition, he carries plenty of bone and muscle, his head shows a large circumference, with an abrupt stop, skull is rounded, he has correctly shaped dark eyes with no excessive haw and a lovely benevolent expression, he has a very strong neck and sloping shoulders, his chest was deep and had good width, overall I found him very balanced with moderate rear angles and plenty of muscle, excellent feet, can carry his tail a little high on the move, which was sound and free. DCC & BIS

2nd Ms N Mokryk –Streillys Hugo The Boss –

This dog appealed to me in profile, lovely sized head, eyes were dark but a little small, he has a good length of neck into sloping shoulders, compact dog with nice amount of bone, sloping off to the rear, tail carried a little too high on the move and his rear needs strengthening.
