Parson Russell Terriers

Many thanks to Driffield Officers and committee inviting me to judge at their well laid out and organised show at the new venue.

All dogs were presented well, coats were very clean and well prepared, conformation was good throughout, I had no problems spanning any of them, some ears were hanging quite low by the cheek and one or two had yellow plaque on the canines which isn’t good, never mind at a dog show.

MPD (3 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: HOOLEY, Mr And Mrs Mark And Margaret Hoolmark Cheyanne – Just six months and a really promising puppy. Outward going and enjoying the day. Has a lovely body shape in profile and good for size, well proportioned head, with correct stop, Well set ears and dark eye, scores in front, good topline with slight rise over the loin, very good rear angulation which gave drive around the ring.

2nd: 1274 EVANS, Mr Gareth & EVANS, Mrs Laura Bellvalley Rooster – Another lovely puppy, in excellent coat and condition, has good strong bone, flat skull with well set ears, slightly longer in muzzle than 1, lovely neck and topline, just needs to settle in front.

 PD (3 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: BAKER, Mr & Mrs Martin & Jane Pacolito Veni Vedi Veci – What a cracking well developed puppy, has a lovely shape and outline, head well proportioned, dark eye and well set ears, strong jaw and super dentition, clean neck into well laid shoulders, easy to span, straight front with legs well set under, good topline and tail set, has very good rear angulation which showed as he moved easily around the ring. Best Puppy and Res Dog CC

2nd: CASSON, Miss T Cassjoebar Rough Diamond – Another promising puppy, a little more body than 1, he has a good outline, and is good for size, lovely dark eye, excellent neck and topline showing a slight rise over the loin, super tailset, straight front legs and standing on compact feet, very good turn of stifle and good hocks. Moved really well. Another one to watch out for.

LD (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: WOODS, Mrs Sue Glen & BORMAN, Master Bobby Wayward Rumble - Lovely head proportions, flat skull, and enough stop, he has a really dark eye, which gives a pleasing expression, enough neck in to well angulated shoulders, stands straight in front, good topline, enough depth of chest just about to elbow and spans ok, would prefer slightly more rear angulation, he covered the ground well.

OD (3 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: SMITH, Mrs K & SMITH, Misses J & A Bellvalley Blackhawk Of Alncroft – A super sleek outline, has an excellent head, with flat skull, dark eye and well set on ears, excellent teeth with a good strong bite, flowing neck into well angulated shoulders, very good topline and tailset, straight in front, good chest with ribs carried well back, an impressive young male, he moved freely in profile and covered the ground with ease. CC and BOB

2nd: WOODS, Mrs Sue Glen & BORMAN, Master Bobby Wayward Timeless JW – He has more body than 1 and not quite putting it all in today, very good head proportions, would prefer slightly more neck, he has a good topline and tail set, good feet on strong pads, he moved well when he got going.

SBB (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: JACOB, Mrs Susie Gonetoground Pallas Athena - What a lovely happy girl, Good head shape with a feminine expression, with one of the best ears today, very good straight front showing some forechest, has a good topline and tailset, enough rear angulation, she moved well in front and could have benefited going a touch quicker to give more drive behind. Best Special Beginner

VB (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: BIGLAND, Mrs L R Heythrop Tangletop - She certainly didn’t look like a veteran ! lovely for size and shape, has good ears to corner of the eye, liked the shape and her head proportions, good length of neck, well angulated shoulders, and correct tailset, enough depth of chest and easily spanned, she really floated around the ring. Best Veteran

MPB (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: WOODS, Mrs Sue Glen & BORMAN, Master Bobby Vixenview Blizzard – Only a baby and a little raw at this stage, good head shape, although she needs to grow into her ears a little more, good straight front, has a clean neck into well laid shoulders, topline is ok, has enough rear angulation and she did settle and move better as she went on.

PB (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: CASSON, Miss T Cassjoebar Sapphire - A really well presented puppy, looking the part today, scores in head, lovely eye and ears which she used well, good strength to her muzzle and correct stop, lovely flowing neck into well angulated shoulders good topline showing a slight rise over the loin into a good tail set, she stands straight in front and had good rear angulation, which showed as she flowed around the ring with good reach and drive. Res CC

JB (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: WOODS, Mrs Sue Glen & BORMAN, Master Bobby : Wayward Got You – Liked her head shape, flat skull, ears are well set and she was using them well, would prefer just slightly more length of neck, shoulders are well set, has a good topline and tailset, front straight and set under, rear angulation ok, she moved steadily in all directions.

LB (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: BAKER, Mr & Mrs Martin & Jane : Pacolito Notorious – 11 months and really showing her socks off, Good for size, looking a little long today as she needs to mature some more, lovely head shape with flat skull, very good ear set and have a distinct V shape, good eye and mouth, lovely length of neck flowing into good shoulders and easily spanned, has a good topline, tail has a bit of a curve, the rear angulation is excellent, moved very well with drive from behind.

2nd: WOODS, Mrs Sue Glen & BORMAN, Master Bobby : Vixenview Top Tier At Wayward – She was unsettled, which is a pity as she is a sound bitch with lots to like about her, she was holding her ears back, has a well shaped head, good eye and mouth, very good topline and tail set, could have moved with more drive.

OB (7 Entries) Abs: 2

1st: CASSON, Miss T : Ch Pacolito Going Fur Gold At Cassjoebar - A lovely bitch in super coat and condition, she has flowing lines, lovely head shape with a flat skull, has a dark eye and lovely expression, she has good strength of bone throughout with a strong muzzle and super teeth, clean muscular neck into well laid shoulders, good topline and tail set, enough depth of chest and spans easily, straight front with legs set slightly under, very good turn of stifle, she moved around the ring like she owned it, with a good length of stride and drive from behind. 2nd: SMITH, Mrs K & SMITH, Misses J & A : Ch Alncroft Foxtrot – She has a lovely body shape, flowing lines with a clean muscular neck, good topline and tailset, straight front and good rear angulation, is well balanced throughout, I preferred the head of 1. 

3rd: BIGLAND, Mrs L R Heythrop Taranna
