Belfast Dog Show Society

Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Belfast Championship Show, 26th September 2026.

Firstly, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the committee of Belfast Dog Show Society for the honour of being invited to judge at their Championship Show and for the warm hospitality extended to me. My particular thanks go to my steward, Lana, who did an excellent job and kept the ring running smoothly and efficiently.

I would also like to thank all the exhibitors who entered their dogs for my consideration and for the sporting manner in which my decisions were received. I was very pleased with the overall quality of the entry, which included some outstanding dogs and bitches. I found no particular areas of major concern within the breed, although high tail carriage appears to be becoming prevalent within the breed and is an aspect that requires attention. Some exhibits would have benefitted from being presented in a fitter condition. Temperaments throughout were exemplary and it was a pleasure to see such confident dogs on the ring.

PD 1

1st Brockmar Hot Shot (Mr RF Farrely).

A promising, well-balanced black brindle puppy of 10 months who stood alone. He has a good head shape with nice dark eyes, neat ears and a keen expression. He has a level topline which is held both on the move and standing. Plenty of bone and substance, a promising puppy who should develop into a handsome adult.

He has a wide, straight front with good bone, strong pasterns and neat feet, A good reach of neck, ample rib, a level topline and short back. His well-muscled hindquarters, complete with a good bend of stifle, give a balanced and powerful appearance along with a gleaming coat. He moved with drive, maintaining a correct tail carriage. A quality dog whom I was pleased to award the RDCC

2nd Bullscaff Premier Boy ( Mr M Ryan)

A powerful black brindle dog with a strong head and good length of muzzle, although I would prefer a tighter lip. He is well boned with good angulation but is longer in the back than the first dog
