20th Anniversary Lucky Dip Junior Stakes - A.V. Gundog Junior

Entries: 29 Absentees: 17

1ST Tusepo Miss Scarlett (Mr N & Mrs S D Spraggins) Curly Coat Retriever at 15 months. A feminine bitch with a well-shaped head and dark eye. Shoulders well laid back, with sufficient depth and ribs carried well back. Her jacket was in good order, showing tight, crisp curls. She stood on neat feet and moved out with drive.

2ND Calvdale Lizzie Stark (Mr & Mrs M Calvert) English Springer Spaniel, 11 months, who had to leave the ring to dash off to her breed class before I could take notes but from memory, a very eye-catching and typy girl.

3RD Culcrieff's Ferntower Glen of Wetnoses (Mr D E J & Mrs M A Salt), Flatcoat.

Boston Veteran Stakes - A.V. Gundog Veteran

Entries: 21 Absentees: 7

1ST 158 - Sh Ch Bryerdale Quantas (ai) (Mrs P J Baines) Gordon Setter, there’s no mistaking the sex of this handsome chap, and so stylish with it. At 7 years looking the dignified stallion that he is. He has a masculine head but not course, good length of neck, shoulders back and stands on ample bone and tight feet. Using his muscular quarters, he moved off with plenty of reach and drive, all topped off with a coat of good colour and markings. I loved him.

2ND 53 - Sh Ch Tattersett Dark Honey JW (Mr & Mrs A Grimsdell) English Setter, if the Gordon was a picture of masculinity, then this beautiful orange bitch epitomised femininity. Rising 9 years, she put in an excellent performance. Her head has length and is moderately deep with chiselling underneath her eyes. Good angulation both fore and aft with a short back, she moved well with a good stride.

3RD 434 - Sh Ch Crumpsbrook Woodrush (Ms J E & Mr A E Powell & Murrell) Large Munsterlander.
