British Bullmastiff League

Breed: Bullmastiff
The British Bullmastiff League  14.02.2026 Judge Mr Peter Myers I would like to thank the officers and committee of the BBL for the invitation to judge the breed on such a prestigious occasion for the oldest Bullmastiff Club in the world, it was indeed a great honour for me.  The stewards, a good mix of experience and youth were excellent and kept the ring flowing in the order I had requested, thank you. Baby Puppy Dog 1. Bosseaux & Stevens, Casa De Luckybull Cinnamon, Typical head for this age, has a dark eye and well set ears, bite is undershot. Good reach of neck leading into a compact body with good spring of rib, good rear angulation, moved well for age. Best Baby Puppy. Veteran Dog 1. Niogret, Int Ch Notorious Biggie Bull Nausy Boy, 9 years of age, substantial red male in great condition, good head not overdone in any way. He has a broad underjaw with an undershot mouth, muzzle is correct length showing the desired one third to two thirds length. He has a dark eye with the correct ear set. Nice reach of neck, good bone , has a level topline on a square frame, strong in loin and well muscled for his age. BVIS 2. Amor, Keepersguard Ragnars Wrath, 7 year old red male, smaller in frame than 1, he is presented in good condition, he has kept a level topline, good reach of neck , dark eye and good pigment, mouth is undershot. Puppy Dog 1. Rodriguez, Braveheart De Canaky, 10 month Fawn puppy, well put together puppy presenting a square appearance with a level topline, good spring of rib and good bone, has good rear angulation with a good tail set and length. Head is square with a correctly proportioned muzzle, bite is slightly undershot, dark eye and good pigment, outgoing personality and moved well. BPIS 2. Thomas & Bull, Reesley Lets Have It Then Phoria. 9 month fawn of overall smaller frame than 1. He is compact with a good rib and level topline, rear angulation is good with correct tail. Head is appealing with good pigment, dark eye and well set ears. Needs a manicure that would help to improve his feet. Junior Dog  1. Thomas & Bull, Reesley Lets Have It Then Phoria, BJIS Yearling Dog 1. Two young handsome dogs that gave me a difficult decision, both have their virtues and faults but this is judging on the day to the standard and what appealed to me more. They went on to become my CC and RCC winning males. Winning the class was Jones, King Of The Manor by Sundabish, at 23 months this masculine fawn has a lovely front, good bone and tight feet, his forelegs are straight and his chest is wide and a good depth of brisket, Head is typical for the breed, correct proportioned muzzle to skull ratio, dark eye and pigment, ear size and set are correct. He has a very tight bottom lip which makes you work to see his bite but it is worth the effort ! He has width to underjaw and a very correct mouth. In profile he is compact, good spring of rib and strong in loin, moved enthusiastically CC & RBIS. 2. Kiel Outzen, Ace Of Beton’s Keep Me In Front DK/NL JCH, just out of junior class this fawn male is very eye catching and excels in breed type, another with correct muzzle to skull ratio, has enough pigment and a dark eye, ears are well set. His front is good but not as well developed as 1. In profile he is balanced with matching front and rear angulations, slightly longer cast than 1 but within standard, he moves very well and holds an excellent topline, with maturity he will go far. RCC Post Graduate Dog 1. Lomax, Stoneglad Seducation, strongly built mature male, good type, head is typical and square from all angles, good pigment, straight forelegs with a well developed chest and brisket, good rib. Moved ok but would benefit from losing a few pounds. 2. Allison, Sacrados Big Boy Brucie, Red dog and no mistaking he is a male bullmastiff, skull is large with well placed small ears (Some ears are getting to large) he is balanced in profile, with a level topline and good tail set, bone is good. Limit Dog 1. Rodriguez, Impossible Is Nothing De Penamellera, medium sized red male presented in hard condition with good muscle definition, lovely clean head with little wrinkle, good mouth with a level bite, has a hazel eye which is acceptable, muzzle is correct and has width, he has good bone and tight cat like feet, chest is well developed, level topline and good rear angulation, moved well. 2. Bigham, Daisonville I’m Your Man, substantial built male who is top end of standard, presented in hard condition with good muscle throughout, has so much to like about him, good bone and probably the best placed shoulders of all exhibits here today, good rear angulation that matches his front. He has a dark eye and good ears, nostrils are wide and open, good reach of neck leading into that wonderful front assembly. 3. Brearley, Fowlerheights Artax At Tatroyds. Open Dog 1. Latter Ch Stoneglad Gigolo, Fawn eye catching male of lovely Breed type, his main virtue is a wonderful head piece full of breed type, Skull is large with well proportioned muzzle, dark eyes and well placed ears, good pigment that tones off towards the eyes, his chest is wide, good bone and straight forelegs, he has a good spring of rib and good angulation to rear with correct tail, enthusiastic mover. 2. Latter, Stoneglad Casanova,  a half brother to 1, has similar virtues, head proportions are good, preferred the bite and muzzle strength of 1. He is more compact which i prefer but lacks the muscle development of his brother, has good angulations and spring of rib, he moves well. 3. Lauwers & Roekens, Ugho Of Bewitched Force. Puppy Bitch 1. Ellis-Payne, Chayo Golden Nectar, substantial sized female for age, head is still developing as is her front but she has good bone and straight forelegs, where she impressed me most was in her rear quarters where already she has great width and strength, she will be a powerful mover once settled. BPB Junior Bitch 1. Todd & Smith, XL Nova From Woodbulls Future Into Delarhia (Imp Bel) a lovely well marked brindle, smaller in frame than others in class but, she is outgoing and well handled, has a nice length of neck into a level topline. 2. Deroanne, Yakshi De La Ferme Bonaparte,   2 & 3 were obviously litter sisters of the same type, and could easily swap places. Yakshi is a red, larger frame than 1, with a good spring of rib and enough bone for her age.  3. Deroanne, Yemaya De La Ferme Bonaparte  Yearling Bitch 1. Lauwers & Roekens, Xandy-Xory of Bewitched Force, caught my eye straight away for her lovely breed type, she is a good size throughout with enough bone, she is compact and has good depth to her body, her head is square, large skull with a good muzzle and good mouth, dark eye and the required pigment that is so appealing, moved ok and when she settles with her handler they should make a good team. 2. Rodriguez, Romina Power De Penamellera, red of good type, slightly longer cast than 1. Her head is appealing with correct proportions and no exaggeration , clean skull and well placed ears, her neck flows into a level topline, good rib and a strong loin, rear angulation is good with well developed thighs, moved well. 3. Bowman, Skyeline Amarula. Post Graduate Bitch 1. Stevens, Aphrodite Didele Sirdis, I liked this girl, honest female without being overdone or flashy. She is a good size with balanced front and rear, level topline and enough bone. She had a moderate head with slightly undershot mouth, dark eye and good ear carriage, another who needed a manicure to improve feet. Limit Bitch 1. Harris, Bulli Del Branco Padme Amidala For Cooperdale Aerodight (Imp Nl) close decision between 1 and 2, this girl is a fawn of lovely type, heavier set than 2 but it was her head that won the class, the skull is large, muzzle wide and a third in length, underjaw is wide with a near perfect bite, dark eye, correct size ears and set well, pigment tones off towards eye giving the look at me expression, she has good bone, good rib and well let down in brisket, she has good angulation and tail set, her topline dipped a little behind withers (which cost her higher honours) but with a stricter diet and more exercise she should improve and finish well. 2. Thomas & Bull, Phoria’s Eden, A female i have admired from ringside today she just lacked condition which did her no favors. She is top end of height standard, with good proportions, top line is level and a lovely reach of neck. Pleasing head proportions, dark eye and a mouth that is all the standard asks for, very wide underjaw and a bang on level bite. Today I wanted more of her and would like to see her rear quarters develop. Both of these girls should be challenging harder for the CC, condition let them down and I hope the owners take this as encouragement and not criticism. 3. Rodriguez, Mi Nina De Penamellera. Open Bitch 1. Latter, Ch Stoneglad She’s All That, and doesn't she know it ! classic type throughout, lovely head, large skull that is well balanced with muzzle, dark eye and well set ears, good pigment that tones off. Nice length of neck, flowing into well placed shoulders, good rib, strong in loin and rear quarters which provide her with the power she demands to command the ring, which eventually won her the CC & BIS. 2. Rodriguez, Sp Ch Is A Kind Of Magid De Penamellera, red girl of moderate size, very typical of this kennel, no exaggeration throughout, she is presented in hard muscle condition, in profile she is balanced front and rear with a level topline. Good reach of neck, carrying a nice head piece, which is balanced and in proportion, dark eye and good pigment, a good mover. RCC Judge Mr Peter Myers
