Special Beginners Dog or Bitch
1st, Piacente Uomo Saggio, James, Mr Gareth & James MBE, Mrs Mary – A squarely built young male who had a typical profile. His muzzle is strong and square with good dentition, his stop is moderate and his head had divergence in profile. I would prefer just a little more length to muzzle. His eyes were of good shape and colour. Clean oval skull and occiput visible. Ears were set well, good shape, but he does use them a little too much when animated. His neck is short and strong and fits nicely on his well angled front with good width to withers. He has excellent bone, my preference for more rounded feet but his were well padded. Good depth and width of chest. I was pleasantly surprised to how well bodied this young male is, good sprig of rib, with break and slight rise to his croup which was strong and broad, correctly set tail, minimal tuck up presented a pleasing profile. Good thick skin and harsh coat. He has good width of thigh and stood true. He moves out well, holds his topline well and held his tail horizontally. Good foot placement.
Junior Dog
1st, Montecani Back To The Freezo, Miss T L Davies – A lot to like about this young male who is still very raw with his development. In profile he fits the square even though he is very rangy. I loved his typical head, protruding nose, square strong jaw and good dentition. His divergent head planes of equal length, eye shape and minimal stop leading to that clean oval skull, is a delight, and those well placed ears and minimal dewlap was such a typical picture in profile along with that marked crest from his nape. He has good front angles, good bone and stands on compact feet, thick pads. His chest is still developing. His body is quite lean but not thin but has a good length of rib and minimal tuck up. His topline is correct with the required rise to a good angled croup and a thick tail well set. with set on a thick tail set. Good rear angulation with clearly visible tendons and oval feet. His coat is of good texture and length. He moves out very well, has good head carriage and topline is held and horizontal tail. He can only get better with maturity.
2nd, Michiamo Vivvy Wizz, Mayne, Miss L & Anderson, Mrs J & Steere, Ms V – Another young dog but more mature than winner. He is just off square when viewed in profile. His jaw is square with good dentition, divergent planes and minimal stop. His eyes are of good shape, but do need to darken which should happen as he matures. Equal length to muzzle/skull ratio and ears set level to eye. Clean oval skull with marked crest on his short neck. He has good front assembly on decent bone but I would refer more compact feet, pads a little thin. Prominent sternum and brisket still developing. He had a decent spring of rib, minimal tuck up, his topline rising gently to his broad croup with a nicely set tail. He has moderate rear angulation. He had a thick skin but I would prefer a tidier coat to enhance overall picture. He moved ok, holding his tail horizontally.

Limit Dog
1st, Rosetti At Stowledge (Imp Ita), Thompson, Mrs Jane & Bevan, Mr Malcolm – What a good, honest dog, robust, rustic and he fits that spinone blueprint very well. In profile he looks so typical with his harmonious lines, nothing exaggerated, and no mistaking his masculinity. His jaw is strong and square with a correct bite. He has good divergence with a gentle sloping stop so has a good flow into his clean oval skull with pronounced occiput. He has a good eye shape of good colour, and his ears were well set and nicely shaped. His neck is short and strong with a marked crest and his shoulders were set well apart. He has super front angulation, great layback of shoulder and length of upper arm and he has excellent bone with the best of front feet and firm pads to support his frame. Sternum is prominent and has depth of chest. He is very mature in body, his ribs are well sprung and carried back, I would prefer just a little less tuck up but that is just my preference. That topline has the correct break with slight rise to such a well-muscled and broad loin and the tail is well set. He has good rear angulation, good length of thighs and has clearly marked tendons. He has the best of skin and harsh coat. Stands on good rear feet. He is such a strong dog, and his handler does a good job to keep him in check so that movement is not compromised. He moves out very well keeping that essential shape all enhanced by his typical movement. I was so pleased to have an opportunity to assess this dog who is still not fully mature, CC & Best of Breed.
2nd, Jaylynne Luther, Smith, Miss L – Similar type to winner and he also has a lot to like about him. He looks square in profile and has that typical shape with clean flowing lines. He has good proportions to his muzzle/skull with a big spongy roman nose and correct bite. He has a good expression enhanced by his eye shape and colour and his ears are set correctly with a good shape. His head was a little broader than the winner but he has a clean oval skull with pronounced occiput. His neck is short, but I would prefer the crest to be more marked. He is another with a very good front, length of upper arm and layback of shoulder with space between the shoulder blades. He has good bone, I would prefer more rounded feet. He has good depth of chest and spring of rib with good length, correct break and another who excels in loin, it is broad and strong with a nicely set croup. His thighs are broad, has good rear angulation with clearly marked tendons. Good thick skin and flat harsh coat. He is another with typical movement holding his head, topline and carries his tail horizontally, RCC
Open Dog
1st, Beau (imp ita), Luff, Mrs L & Davies, Miss Tracy – 6 year old male who has a very typical profile shape. His bite is correct and his jaw is square and strong with that slight roman spongy nose and I found his proportions to muzzle/skull were equal. His eye is a good shape and he has correctly placed and shaped ears set level to his eye. His stop is not exaggerated and he has a clean oval skull. His neck is short and strong and flows nicely into his withers. His front assembly is good but I would prefer more pronounced sternum. Well boned and stands on good feet which were well padded. He has good length of rib which were well sprung and a short loin. He has the required topline, slight rise to his loin which was well muscled with a correctly set tail. I would prefer more width of thigh, and this would also enhance his overall shape. His tendons were clearly visible and he stood on good rear feet. Excellent coat and skin. After his handler corrected his movement, he moved out very well showing that typical gait keeping his topline and tail carriage.
2nd, Sh Ch Gradevole Struffoli, Robinson, Mrs G – He is a nice type, I liked his profile shape, square and has those flowing lines. He has a strong jaw with that large spongy nose and correct bite. Divergent planes with equal ratio and his eye is of a good shape and colour with correctly set ears, and he has a kind expression. His skull is clean and oval with pronounced occiput and a short neck. He has a nicely angulated front but I would prefer the brisket to be a little deeper. Stands on well boned legs with very good feet with firm pads. He has a good body shape with minimal tuck up and a good spring of rib with short loin and that rise to a nicely angled croup and tail set. His rear angulation is moderate and he stands on good feet. His coat was of a good length and of harsh texture and a thick skin. He moved out ok, felt he was a little unsettled and didn’t show himself off but he had good tail carriage.
Minor Puppy Bitch
1st, Feriiia Neera, Hastings, Mr Alexander & Hastings, Mrs Kathryn – Very much a baby and still very raw at 8 months. She has a pleasing profile, just off square. Muzzle to skull ratio is equal with a roman nose and correct bite. Her eye is still very light at this age which impacts her expression but these should darken with age. Good oval skull with pronounced occiput and visible crest to her short neck. She has good front angles and her chest width and depth is still to develop. She has decent bone, I would prefer more rounded feet. Her body shape is not awkward as you might expect at this age, gentle rise to her strong loin and well set on tail, I would prefer a tidier coat but she had thick skin. She has very good rear angulation with good hocks. She really enjoyed herself on the move, nice view of parallel hocks and she kept her shape well with a horizontal tail carriage, Best Puppy
Junior Bitch
1st, Benevelo Stella Fortunata, Holt, Mrs K & Holt, Mr R – Another nice type, 12 months brown roan. She is square in appearance and quite mature for her age. She has a correct scissor bite and width to her jaw and good skull/muzzle length. Her eyes are a good colour and shape with good ear shape set level to eye. A well angulated front with already good depth & width to her chest and she has good bone but I would like more rounded feet. She is already well ribbed, plenty of heart room, minimal tuck up, correct break and slight rise to a broad and strong loin with a nice tail set. Well angled rear and stands on good feet. She is a sound mover, good foot fall fore and aft with a level tail carriage. Just my preference but I would prefer less coat and would address the eye furnishings to enhance her expression.
2nd, Scodinzolare Pashmina Of Pendio, Kemp, Dr Helen – 15-month brown roan, not as mature as 1 but presents a nice picture when stacked in profile, just off square. Correct bite and width to muzzle, I would prefer a little more muzzle length. Eyes of good shape and colour with a kind expression. Typical oval skull with pronounced occiput, her neck is short and crest is clearly visible. Nice open shoulders and front angulation, her chest still needs to develop. Has good bone and stands on good feet. She has a harsh flat coat with thick skin, I preferred her colour to winner. Standing slightly too high at rear but has a strong, broad loin and a tail well set. Maybe a little more rear angulation but this could change as her topline sorts itself out. Rear tendons clearly visible and stood on good feet. She had good movement with typical head and tail carriage and relaxed gait.
Post Graduate Bitch
1st, Gianna Dei Ruderi Montforte del Montecani, Davies, Miss T L – Very square and typical shape on this 2.5 year old white & orange. Ears set level to eye and of good shape. Short neck with a marked crest and has a good front assembly with layback of shoulder and length of upper arm. Not overly boned but enough, and stood on good feet with firm pads. Her chest still needs to develop but she had open ribs, well back with a short loin. Pleasing topline with that lovely flow from her withers to a strong loin and croup with a well set tail. At the minute a little too much tuck up but this should change as she matures. Good rear angles with clearly visible tendons. Best coat of the day, flat, harsh with thick skin. I liked her typical movement, good foot fall keeping her profile shape, she had fun.

I hope her chest continues to develop as she reaches full maturity. Good spring of rib, well back and a short loin.
