DRIFFIELD CHAMPIONSHIP DOG SHOW SOCIETY 30/08/26

IRISH SETTERS

Thank you to the society for inviting me to judge and thank you to those exhibitors who supported me with their entries.

I think we could have done with a slightly bigger ring to allow the dogs to move more freely, but we had what we did and managed as we did.

I’ve judged this boy before and done him well, now a few years older and still giving his all to his handler/owner, my critique much the same as it was then , still flows nicely from his length of neck through his shoulder, gentle sloping top line and good tail set, presented perfect as usual just lost out on best veteran with not having quite as much drive as the bitch but lovely to still see him being shown in such good condition still. BVD

2nd- Hemmings , Mr D & Hemmings, Mrs K

Well, what can I say? He has matured somewhat since I judged him last, I liked him as a youngster, but he had a way to go and left his coat behind, today he came dressed to impress, yes he is built on slightly smaller frame but he is balanced and he has got himself together and he moved out well. he presented a well balanced shape not overdone in anyway and was at one with his handler. He has a beautiful headpiece, pleased to award him the RCC today. RDCC
