Veteran dog (1,0)

1ST 1264 - Ch Tamiskene Rhumba (Mrs G D Bird) a 10 year-old dog who looks fabulous for his age and you can see why he carries his crown. An elongated head with good proportions good width to skull and well set ears of correct shape. Eyes are of good shape. Good clean front assembly. A little heavier in bone than preferred. Good Topline which was held through stand and move finished with a low tail set. Parallel throughout body with good angulation in rear. On the move this boy is sound as a pound but can get a fraction close in rear at times. Front has good reach and lift. RBD. And was thrilled to see him top the veteran group.

Masculine head without being overdone. Lovely eye placement of good shape, size and colour. Lovely length of neck leading into a long sloping shoulder with good return of upper arm. Straight front of good bone. Super Topline with correct rise over loin. lovely angulation through rear. With a good turn of stifle and good length to things which are muscled well. Would like hocks to be more parallel. On the move this boy holds correct shape with good lift and reach in front. BOB

1ST 1259 - Ch/am Ch Artmeis Golden Oriole of Regallust (Mrs J Amsel). This is a girl that I have admired since she came out as a puppy. At 11 years old, this girl still has a lot of fabulous attributes. A lovely feminine head with correct proportions and elongated with enough stop to balance head. Ears are set well. Lovely eye set which draws you in for a second look. Good length to neck with a lovely long sloping shoulder. Fine boned throughout with straight parallel limbs in front. A little more forechest than preferred. Top line good with a low set tail carried well and it was lovely to see her so happy in the ring. Good depth to chest and good Tuck up. Angulation good in rear and muscled well for age. Moved out okay.

1ST 1269 - Birchwind Morning Star (Mrs M Hayden-Smith). What a lovely find this was. At just nine months this girl has got so much to offer and has got a very exciting future ahead, I’m sure. Lovely shape and size and ultra feminine throughout. Head piece almost textbook being elongated with enough stop and good width and depth through skull. Eyes are a good size and shape set well in skull. Ears set well back and are of correct shape. Lovely length to neck. Leading into a well constructed forequarters with a long sloping shoulder and fine boned parallel front with good feet. Lovely top line with a well angled croup and low set tail. Muscled well in rear with good angulation throughout and well letdown hock. On the move is where you truly appreciate this girl’s construction. She has a lovely drive in rear with a good lift and reach in front. Lost out to the dog in the challenge for Best of breed as her top line just flattened. I will watch this girls development with great interest. pleased to award BB, BPIB and pleased to see her take puppy group 4.

1ST 1261 - Birchwind Aurelia (Mrs J & Mrs M Amsel & Hayden-Smith) litter sister to the winner of puppy bitch. Lots of similar comments apply here. She’s bigger in frame than her little sister, but still balanced throughout. Although not the most confident she won this class on breed type, shape and movement. Lovely long elongated head with enough underfill. Eyes are set well and are of good shape size and colour. Ears set well back. Super front with fine bone throughout and stood on good feet. Another with a super top line and with confidence she will hold it more throughout her time in the ring. Rear angles match the front with good muscle parallel and well letdown hocks. Moved with Drive and enough reach and left in front to win the class.

2ND 1270 - Loutony Bonnie Bailey (Mrs L P Nuttycombe) this girl is rather typy just need to settle into herself to be able to show case her movement. I saw just enough movement to award her second place. Feminine headpiece with good proportions and enough stop with good width and depth through skull. Ears are set well back and are of good shape and size. Good length to neck leading into a long sloping shoulder and a good return of upper arm with elbows close to a well developed chest. Fine boned throughout. Feet okay. Top line is okay and I’m sure she will maintain it once she settles.. rear has good angles with well let down hocks.

This is a class where I could have swapped the first three, there are so many great attributes in all of them but this is how I found them today.

1ST 1262 - Ch Artmeis Three Card Trick (Mrs J B & Mrs H Amsel & Rishworth-Cutler)

It took a long time for this bitch to really settle and I was told afterwards that this wasn’t the normal handler. A beautiful headpiece which is balanced. Good proportions through head and enough stop and underfill. Beautiful eye set with good shape size and colour. Ears are set well back on skull and are of correct shape. A super forequarter assembly with a long sloping shoulder, good return of upper arm and fine boned parallel front stood on strong pasterns and good feet. Once the handler got the speed of this girl, she maintained her top line had a lovely drive in rear with enough reach and lift in front. Lovely angles in rear.

2ND 1266 - Rilloby Thin Blue Line (Miss J E Doherty) On the stand this girl presents a beautiful silhouette. A super headpiece which is feminine throughout. Ears are set well back giving a great expression. Lovely eyes that draw you in for another look. This girl really scores highly in the front assembly a super long sloping shoulder with a good return of upper arm fine boned front and super feet. Good depth to chest. Lovely top line with correct rise over loin and a well angled croup and a low set tail of good length. Rear angles are good with a good turn of stifle, good length to thighs and well let down hocks. On the move this girl could perhaps have moved a little quicker, she demonstrated left and reach, but just didn’t quite have the drive of rear to cover the ground.
