Midland Counties Canine Society

Again, thank you to Midland Counties for inviting me to judge this breed for the first time at their show. I judged the breed at a club open show a couple of years ago and I am pleased to see the slight concerns I had at that show with some of the breed becoming too exaggerated weren’t a concern today. A thoroughly enjoyable day for me and a special thank you to the person who encouraged me to judge outside of my own breed many many years ago. Rottweilers have a special place in my heart and I still dream of living with one in the future!

Ample bone throughout with good length to leg and tidy feet. Most together at this stage in the class with sound action fore and after. Tail carried well without deviation. Working well with handler.

Another quality young male, head not as developed as class winner at this stage but has all the foundations there. Tidy feet with good bone throughout. Firm top line, onto well set and carried tail. Sound in action, covering the ground with reach and drive.

11 months old, standing alone today but a worthy winner. Scissor bite, clean dark eye of good shape. Head developing well with correct ear carriage. Well muscled throughout, with ample bone for his size. Good length to leg and tidy feet. Comes into his own on the move with clear reach and drive.

12 month old male, head developing well without excess. Clean dark eye of good shape. Ears of correct size and carriage. Good reach of neck onto well laid shoulders. Strong top line with well set tail which is carried well. Sound throughout and completely balanced. Caught my eye in the class with his powerful reach and drive on the move and foot perfect performance. In the challenge, he kept catching my eye and I was pleased to award him the RCC, I am sure he will gain his crown before long.

Another quality youngster with lots to like. Head not as developed as one at this stage. Good reach of neck and well made throughout with ample bone for his size and tidy feet. Strong in top line. Sound mover with good tail carriage, covering the ground with clean action throughout.

Strong in top line with good tail carriage. Firm condition throughout and best mover in this class with clean powerful action throughout.

20 months old, scissor bite, head of good proportions and clean dark eye. Could easily swap places with one on another day. Good reach of neck onto well laid shoulders. Well constructed throughout with ample bone for his size. Well muscled which showers in his powerful action. Carries tail well without deviation.

3 year old male of good size, head not as developed as one but good proportions throughout. Dark eye of good shape. Would like a touch more reach of neck to give him more overall balance. Well constructed male with good angles fore and after. Ample bone and tidy feet. Strong top line and good tail carriage. Sound in action fore and after.

WOW - this male couldn’t be ignored. 2.5 years old and in his prime. Scissor bite, clean dark eye. Masculine in headpiece without exaggeration. Good length to muzzle. Ears carried well to complete that typical expression. Strong neck, onto well laid shoulders. Well constructed throughout with bone to match and tidy feet. Shown in fit condition which shows in his effortless powerful action. Covers the ground with a foot perfect performance working well with handler. Excellent tail carriage which completes the picture. Couldn’t deny him the CC and BOB and was pleased to see him power around the group ring.

Another well constructed male of good size. Pleasing headpiece, with dark eye of good shape. Ears well set. Strong neck, onto well laid shoulders. Firm in top line and ample bone throughout with excellent tail carriage. Sound mover with clean action fore and after, didn’t have the drive of one today but quality none the less.

Another promising youngster of good size, not as together as one at this stage but has all the foundations there. Head developing well with good ear carriage to complete the picture. Ample bone throughout with good length to leg. Firm in top line and steady mover, covering the ground with clean action and carries tail well.
