MANCHESTER CHAMPIONSHIP DOG SHOW 2026 – 18th January 2026
Whippets
Judge: Mr Rob Wheeler
Thank you to the officers and committee of Manchester Dog Show for the invitation. I was initially
disappointed that we were scheduled to be in the pavilion, as I much prefer the atmosphere of a
general championship show with other breeds; however, it worked very well. Thank you for the
opportunity to go over your lovely dogs. There were some difficult decisions in several classes and I
was delighted with my overall winners and with the sportsmanship shown.
A big thanks to the lovely steward who was super helpful!

1st: 7438 TITT, Mr & Mrs J & S & TITT, Mrs Sadie / Whitesquall Superiore – This dog won the class
on overall construction and shape, stood, he really is quite a picture, great for size, masculine yet
elegant, could have a bit more condition. Liked his front construction with a matching rear, excelled
in profile, although often moved too fast, which made the dog fond of his tail.
2nd: 7347 FLEMING, Mrs Lucy Flerrow Watergrove Wonders – Bigger all through than 1 but in
excellent, muscular condition, which I appreciated. Handsome head, OK for neck, clean shoulder
and a very deep chest, well-muscled rear allowed him to move well and with accuracy.

1st: 7351 FRICK, Mrs. Karin Cherubim's Royal Talismann – Absolutely loved this young boy, great
for moderation and balance, super lean head, good neck to shoulder, good infill for one so young,
deep chest, spot on for size and bone, best mover of the class, moved with purpose and style.
Seriously thought about him for the RCC. Best Puppy.
2nd: 7341 DILLON, Miss M Citycroft Not My First Rodeo At Runforest – Another nice boy although
entirely different make and shape. He has real presence and is very upstanding and very
handsome, always made the best of himself, gorgeous head and expression, good for neck and
shoulder, not quite the angulation up front of 1, lovely body and condition. On the move he was very
precise up and back and great in profile, he was unlucky to meet 1 today. Will surely go on to have
a great career.

1st: 7398 MALLINSON, Mrs Ellen & MALLINSON, Miss Lucy Edenwhip Oregano JW – I thought
this dog was masculine with strength with enough elegance still, wouldn’t want him any bigger
though. Very nice to go over and this won him the class, super head, good ear set, nice neck to
clean shoulders, great body condition, Impressive on the move, went with purpose and stride.
2nd: 7350 FOXWELL, Miss Jade Cobyco Capture The Look At Redfoxia – Really liked this boy and
appreciated his ideal size very much. Not quite the front angles of 1 but excellent proportions. Nice
to go over with clean shoulders and depth of chest, moderate throughout, correct tail set. Good
moving dog, just not the profile movement of 1.

1st: 7395 LUTHER, Miss Charlotte & BUCKLAND, Mr Nathan Tervanty Dragon Master At
Bonnarfyfe JW – My dog of the day, he combines everything I want in a whippet, spot on for size,
masculine but had real style and elegance. Good head, prefer smaller ears, lovely over the withers,
deep chest. On the move up and back he is accurate and in profile outstanding, goes around the
ring with such style, almost pointing his toes on the move. Dog CC.
2nd: 7320 BLACKBURN, Mrs Andrea & BLACKBURN, Ms Laura Mazargo Whole Lotta Trouble –
Another nice boy unlucky to meet 1. Not quite the front assembly of 1 but so much to like,
masculine, stylish with a lovely headpiece, good for length of neck and well ribbed, everything fitted
together. When moved at the right speed he is accurate and super in profile – lovely dog!

1st: 7331 BROOKS, Mrs S & BROOKS, Mr M Collooney For Your Eyes Only JW – Was my initial
winner of the SBD class but didn’t look like he wanted to be there. In this class he had settled. He is
spot on for size, not a hint of coarseness, very moderate and for a dog, has some lovely curves on
him. Straight front, slightly upright in upper arm, good body, deep chest. Moved with perfect footfall
and well enough in profile. There is a lot to like about this dog.
2nd: 7333 BURTON, Mr Kevin Ballenbreich Harris JW – Another boy super for size, the kindest
expression with lean head, good over the neck and shoulder, nice spring of pasterns and neat feet.
He moved very well up and back and with enough stride in profile.

1st: 7364 GRISOLI, Ms L Loroli Devil's Stone Jw – A well know dog to me and one that I admired
many times, he ticked all the right boxes for correct size and shape whilst maintaining masculinity.
super head and expression, smooth over the shoulders, lovely body condition, held his shape well
stood and moving. On the move, he is accurate and lovely in profile, just goes a bit wide behind for
perfection but fully deserved his RCC.
2nd: 7357 GLITHERO, Mr P R & GLITHERO, Mrs S & PHILO, Ms S R Palmik Against All Odds For
Coppershell – Close up to 1 although quite different. He’s a bit bigger all through than 1, handsome
head and good for neck, less upper arm than 1, super body and ribbing, good depth of chest, better
underline than 1. Another very good moving dog, perfectly parallel on the up and back and good in
profile.

1st: 7455 YACOBY WRIGHT, Mrs Lynn Ch Cobyco Catch Your Eye – This handsome fawn who
needs no introduction won the class on construction, everything is so well put together, he’s
moderate but with good and matching front and rear angulation, well laid shoulder, good depth of
chest and in fill, strong rear quarters. He’s very accurate on the move, loves his handler! Very
worthy of all the considerable winning he has done.
2nd: 7374 JONES, Mrs K J Jones Kathryn J & JONES, Mr John D Jothryn Johnny Be Good JW –
Loved this attractive brindle for size compared to 1, still very masculine but fits together nicely.
Handsome head, nice slow from neck to shoulder, well ribbed, straight front, good feet. He’s an
ultra-moderate dog, would personally prefer a less weight on him to be shown to advantage.
Excellent on the move, parallel and good in profile.

A dog I have never seen before and I was impressed by his presence and the way he carried
himself, handsome head, lovely for neck, clean shoulders and enough upper arm, great for
condition! On the move, he moved as well as some of the young ones and really looked to be
enjoying it too!
2nd: 7412 PRICE, Ms C A Ch Wheelspin Silver Shadow Among Silkdance JW VW – A nice
moderate fawn boy, well worthy of his title. Super head, ok for neck, shoulders well back, straight
front and nice feet. Holds a good shape stood and although accurate on the move, was a little lack
lustre and looked fed up.

Class 2674 SBB (18 Entries) Abs: 4
1st: 7430 SKINNER, Mrs K Whitesquall Mionetto – winner of this class on basic construction alone.
She’s nicely put together, although I would prefer her lighter. Sweet expression with good ears,
lovely through neck and shoulder, good ribbing and deep chest, one who held her shape stood and
moving. On the move, because of the lead position, was tilting her head at times and at others,
looking for her bait, when she settled, she was accurate and true. Best Special Beginner.
2nd: 7376 KERR, Miss Rebecca Elizabeth Udalie Du Menuel Galopin (Imp) Fra – Different build to
1 but I liked her elegance and shapely curves. Softest feminine expression on a correct head, good
for neck, OK in upper arm, very good top and underline, well-muscled rear which she used to
advantage on the move.

Class 2675 MPB (19 Entries) Abs: 4 – Some very nice babies in this class.
1st: 7371 JOHNSTON, Mrs Helen & WILSON, Mr Jake Danluke Legs Eleven – This 6 month old
fawn really made me smile, she is everything I would want a baby at this age to be, ultra feminine
with a beautiful expression, great for neck and well laid shoulder with the lovely smooth transition
between the 2, nice depth for one so young, really strong rear assembly and stood, you can she
has plenty of scope. She was so accurate on the move and importantly, looked to be really enjoying
herself. Certainly, one to watch for the future. BPB.
2nd: 7348 FORRESTER, Mr Tim & MACFARLANE, Miss Nancy Collooney Anytime Anyplace At
Finix – This was another very promising baby, very close up to 1. The most striking pale brindle and
again, like the winner, spot on for size and very feminine. Loved the head on this one, lean with
good ears and expression, good neck, shoulders well back, nice shape already, although handler
sometimes was struggling to present this stood, on the move, she really came alive with excellent
profile movement, heartening to see another pup looking like she really enjoyed herself.

pretty fawn bitch, quite different to 1, super for size and already a very curvy girl! Sweet and
feminine head, good for neck and shoulder, lovely top and underline, she is a quiet mover, but done
with great accuracy. Unlucky to meet 1.

To Supeta – A very exciting and striking pale brindle girl. She has the most gorgeous lean head,
with correct ear set, great for neck, straight front. Lovely and smooth over the withers, none of those
harsh angles. Good depth of chest, super body condition. Loved her overall balance and symmetry.
On the move she was accurate up and back and super in profile. Very well handled, dog and owner
respecting each other. She was in my mind for top honours, in the challenge she looked her age,
exactly how she should, and gave way to the maturity of the 2 open winners.
2nd: 7358 GORE, Mrs Helen Silkridge Brighter Vision For Helsim – I liked this one a lot and had
many lovely points, loved her head, good length of neck, well laid shoulders, OK in upper arm.
Curvy enough stood, lost a little of that on the move but moved out well and with accuracy.

1st: 7456 YACOBY WRIGHT, Mrs Lynn Cobyco Capture The Moment – This attractive brindle
quietly came in and done her thing in the ring. Absolutely spot on for size, feminine and with curves.
Super lean head, good for neck, well laid shoulder, good depth of chest for age, lovely curves stood
and moving. She effortlessly went around the ring, parallel on the up and back and good reach in
profile. I am sure she will go on to make up.
2nd: 7369 HOWGATE, Mr M & HULL, Ms Y Tervanty Dragon Song At Palmik – Very attractive pale
fawn girl, very different in type and shape to 1 and more of her to go over. Another very willing girl,
sweet/feminine expression on a typical head, nice neck to shoulder, very well bodied, moderate
throughout, strong rear quarters, which she used in the move. Another good moving bitch just
preferred the elegance of 1.

gone either way. I Loved her size and curves and that’s a great place to start for a whippet bitch.
She has a lovely head, correct ears, good for neck, lovely body condition. I did prefer her elegance
to the winner and although she moved very well at times, she was a bit unsettled on the up and
back today.

1st: 7436 THOMAS, Ms M Bowdonia Sky Full Of Stars JW – Put in the best performance in this
class, another very correct sized bitch whilst maintaining substance and femininity. Everything fitted
together well, straight front with good in fill, deep chest and held her shape very well. Not the
biggest mover in profile but when she does move it’s with accuracy and purpose.
2nd: 7394 LONGHURST, Mrs & Miss Angela & Abbeygail Abbeyhurst Dancing Queen JW – Totally
different type and shape to winner and one I have liled before. I still score her highly for that balance
of elegance and athleticism. I think she creates a real picture stood, higher on leg, which helps with
the picture. Lovely typical whippet head, great for neck, good shoulders, deep chest and super
condition. Good moving girl, just went a little close today.

1st: 7440 TURNER, Mr Desmond & TURNER, Mrs Anita Gilnockie Kinda Cool – What can I say
about this bitch, have often admired her ringside and I thought today, she gave the best possible
account of herself. Sometimes when construction, elegance, curves and style come together, you
get a whippet that stands out from the crowd for all the right reasons. She doesn’t disappoint under
examination either, best of heads, long neck, great layback of shoulder, depth of chest and infill,
ideal proportions throughout. On the move she shows precision up and back with the correct, long
and low movement the standard calls for, no picking her feet up here. She is quite simply a class
act! CC and Best of Breed.
2nd: 7372 JOHNSTON, Mrs Helen & WILSON, Mr Jake Danluke Don't I Know It JW – I thought this
girl looked the best I had seen her today and put in a great performance. She is very much the
athlete when you look at her, whilst still managing to maintain femineity and breed type. Strong
muscular neck, smooth over the shoulders, good in fill and super deep chest. Smooth over the
withers and croup, muscular strong rear quarters. She’s a great moving girl, true enough up and
back but really comes alive in profile. My RCC.

For Supeta JW OSW – Not a lot more I can say about this well-known top winning girl, she is very
whippety having that balance of perfect size, plenty of curves moving and stood, all combined with
an appetite to want to show in her senior years. Best Veteran.
2nd: 7416 PYE, Mr J R Blusteren Midnight Ink At Perromono – A very moderate correct sized bitch,
really at one with her handler. Sweet head and expression, a little straight in angulation both ends
but at least it was balanced and matching. Good for chest depth and curves. Correct top and
underline. Nice footfall on the move.
