DRIFFIELD GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY DOG SHOW

I would like to thank the Driffield Championship Dog Show committee for the invitation to judge my beloved breed at their Golden Anniversary show and for their hospitality…..the steak and ale pie was worthy of a best of breed….compliments to the chief.                                

I would also like to thank the exhibitors for bringing their dogs for me to go over, it’s a shame we were in such a noisy building but I felt that the Airedales coped with it very well.

Special Beginner’s Dog 2 (1abs)

1st Allen’s, “Toulsyork Vanquish”.  

2 years old. Well muscled and nicely bodied up. Good head and eye with moderate length of neck leading into well lay of shoulder. Level top line, nice spring of rib, carried his tail well. Would prefer tighter trimming. Moved ok. Best Special Beginner.

Minor Puppy Dog 1 (0 abs)

1st Favell-Raper, Raper & Graham’s “Thistleaire Gie It Ladie”.

Pleasing outline with good head and expression. Neat ears, correct scissior bite and dark eye. Nice flow of neck leading into well placed shoulder. Good spring of rib, short back and good tail set with plenty behind. Moved ok when settled. 

Puppy Dog 4 (1abs)

1st Lee’s “Stargus Galerius”

Masculine head with lovely expression. Nice eye, correct scizzor bite, used his ears well. Lovely flow of neck into well lay of shoulder. Good spring of rib with short back and held a good top line. Good tail set, short hocks. Presented in tip top of condition. I feel that he has a very bright future. He was my Best Puppy 

2nd Favell-Raper , Raper & Graham’s “Thistleaire Gie In Laddie”

As in Minor Puppy Dog.

Junior Dog. 1 (0) abs

1st Allen & Watmough “Muliebity Ocean Blue for Andmaura”

Pleasing head and expression, correct scissior bite and used his ears well. Moderate length of neck into nice lay of shoulder. Level top line with good tail set. Moved well.

1st Simpson-Jones “Cwmplentyn Spirit in The Sky”

Pleasing head and expression and used his ears well, correct scissior bite. Moderate length of neck leading into well placed shoulder, level back with good tail set. Lovely harsh jacket and presented in good condition. Moved well.

Open Dog 4 (1)abs

1st Browns “Ch Jokyl Daily Special”

Lovely masculine head, dark eye, neat ears with correct scissor bite. Nice flow of neck leading into well placed shoulder with good spring of rib. Level topline, good tail set with plenty behind. Presented in tip top condition. Moved vey well. I could not denigh him top honours today. Dog CC & Best of Breed. I was very pleased to hear that he was short listed in the group later in the day.

2nd Toulson’s “Ch Toulsyork Utterly Bonded”

Pleasing head, dark eye, neat ears, good scissor bite. Good front essembly leading into nice flowing neck with well placed shoulder. Good spring of rib with good topline and tail set. Presented in good condition. Moved well. Pleased to award him the RDCC.

Minor Puppy Bitch 1(0) abs

1st Favell-Raper & Raper “Thistleaire Calin Mo Ruinsa With Shadlian”

Another promising puppy with a well balanced head and lovely expression. Neat ears, dark eye and correct scissor bite. Nice flowing neck that fits in well with her well placed shoulder. Level topline, good tail set with plenty behind. Difficult to asses her movement. Needs more ring training but she shows promise.

1st Turners “Crillee Carry On Baby Bird”

Very nice puppy. Pleasing head with lovely expression , used her ears well. Dark eye, correct mouth. Moderate length of neck leading into well placed shoulder. Level top line with good tailset with plenty behind. Presented in lovely condition. Moved well. Best Puppy Bitch.

2nd Toulson’s “ Toulsyork Wondrous Wilma”

Another nice puppy. Lovely head and expression. Dark eye, correct bite. Moderate length of neck, well laid shoulder, topline ok. Good tail set, well angulated. Moved well. In good coat and colour.

1st. Hampton & Hall’s “Muliebrity Sunshine”

Very nice bitch with pleasing head, used her ears well, dark eye, good mouth. Lovely flowing neck that fits nicely into well placed shoulder, good front assembly. Level topline, good tail set with plenty behind, good hocks. Moved well and pushed hard for the RBCC.

2nd Brands “Jokyl Daydreamer”.

Nice head & expression, used ears well correct mouth. Moderate length of neck into good lay of shoulder. Level topline, good tail set. Steady on the move, in good coat & colour.

Open Bitch 3(0) abs

1st Singh’s CH “Russtam Dolly Daydream At Borderbridge”.

Loved this very feminine bitch who is of the correct hight. Exquisite head & expression with a super terrier eye, neat ears. Lovely flowing neck that leads nicely into a well placed shoulder with good front assembly. Level top line, good tail set and well angulated with lovely short hocks. She was shown in great coat & colour. Moved and handled very well. I was pleased to award her the Bitch CC. 

2nd Du Toit’s “Crillee Cary On Baby Be Mine At With Bellamunro”

Good head and ear carrage, good dark eye with correct mouth. Adequate length of neck that leads into a good lay of shoulder. Level top line with well sprung ribs. Good tail set with plenty behind. Good angulation. Moved very well. Shown in good coat & Condition Correct Size.I was pleased to award her the RBCC
