SOUTH WEST CORGI CLUB SHOW

3rd October 2026

My sincere thanks to the Officers and Committee for inviting me to judge at your prestigious show. It was an appointment I had been eagerly looking forward to for the past 18 months, and it certainly did not disappoint.

The two Best of Breed winners who entered the final ring were both truly deserving of their successes on the day, making my final decisions both enjoyable and challenging.

Best in Show (BIS)

ANALOG CC I SEE FIRENJCH

Owners: Loken & Sonberg

A lovely young Cardigan bitch of just 19 months who completely owned the ring with her presence and charisma. She showed herself to perfection throughout, never putting a foot wrong on the move.

She possesses a beautiful foxy-shaped head with medium-sized eyes, a well-proportioned muzzle, and perfect dentition. Her ears complete the picture, being correctly set and not overly wide. She has a muscular neck, without exaggeration, flowing into well-laid shoulders. Her front assembly is sound, with a deep chest, neat elbows, and correctly bowed forelegs embracing the chest. She has excellent bone, well-sprung ribs, and a pleasing tuck-up.

Her topline remained level at all times, supported by strong and well-muscled hindquarters. On the move she was effortless, balanced, and sound, displaying excellent reach and drive. A very worthy Best in Show winner.

Reserve Best in Show (RBIS)

CH NEVER ENDING LOVED STORY RUDENS LEGENDOS

Owner: Warner

A beautiful mature bitch presented in excellent condition and showing well throughout. However, on this occasion, the experienced lady had to give way to the young pretender.

She has a lovely foxy head with a broad skull, dark expressive eyes, a strong muzzle, and a correct bite. Her ears are well-proportioned to the size of her head, completing an attractive expression.

Her neck is well-muscled with a graceful arch, flowing into a sound front assembly and well-laid shoulders. She has a deep chest, moulded by strong forelegs, and a level topline. Her well-developed hindquarters are strong and correctly angulated, enabling her to move with purpose, balance, and soundness. A quality exhibit and a deserving Reserve Best in Show.

Best Puppy in Show (BPIS)

TAMLIN MOM'S RUM CALE

Owner: Taylor

A very promising 9-month-old bitch who was clearly enjoying her day, which is always lovely to see in a youngster. She showed herself well throughout and displayed a happy, confident attitude.

She has a very attractive foxy head with clear, expressive eyes, a well-shaped muzzle, and good nostrils, which is a feature I particularly appreciate. She has a correct bite and well-set ears of good size, fitting her head proportions nicely. Her front assembly is sound, with a developing chest and good forelegs. She has a well-muscled neck of pleasing length flowing into well-laid shoulders. Her hindquarters are sound with good angulation, and she moved with ease and confidence around the ring. A very promising youngster with a bright future ahead of her.

Best Veteran in Show (BVIS)

POLCH DOM CORGI EASY BOOST (IMP POL)

Owners: Taylor & Michalski

A masculine and mature seven-year-old male who certainly does not look his age and was presented in outstanding condition. He remains in his prime and moved around the ring with tremendous enthusiasm, energy, drive, and purpose.

He has a quality head with a well-developed skull and eyes that blend harmoniously with his coat colour. His dentition remains excellent, with a strong and correct bite. The front assembly is sound, with forelegs correctly moulding the forechest. His neck is well-muscled and flows smoothly into well-laid shoulders. He has a strong, level topline and sound hindquarters with good angulation. On the move he was free-flowing and effortless, demonstrating excellent reach and drive.
