I would like to thank Southern Counties for inviting me to award my first set of Challenge Certificates for Irish Red and White Setters and also to all the exhibitors who gave me the opportunity to assess their dogs. Thanks also must go to my 2 stewards on the day.

1ST 3626 - Sh Ch Alanea Game Reserve with Danwish (Miss T Gardner)

Pleasant head. Good work over eye correct shaped eye and enough stop. Dark nose with good finish to foreface possessing enough flew. Strong neck which is well muscled leading to good shoulders. Firm topline and well ribbed back and showing good spring. Straight front with neat feet and correct bone. Plenty forechest and good depth. Strong quarters with enough stifle. Moved well once settled. RDCC

1ST 3627 - Alanea Turning Tables Into Danwish (Miss T Gardner)

 Balanced puppy with a lovely head showing good stop, correct eye shape and colour. Enough neck leading to good shoulders, well ribbed back and good spring of rib for age. Good depth and ample forechest. Good bone and neat feet. Level topline. Falling away a little in croup but carried tail correctly. A little erratic when moving but he is still a baby and exuberant. BPD ad BP.

1ST 3633 - Roanjora Cremant Bourgogne Intro Ex (Mrs S J Jones)

 Balanced compact dog. Refined skull, enough depth of foreface. Preferred eye colour of this dog. Firm level topline and carried tail correctly. A little close behind when moving.

 2ND 3638 - Coolfin Whiskey in The Jar at Mackney (Mrs J E O'connor)

Stronger in head with deep flews. Would prefer a darker eye. Good length of neck, firm topline, good width of thigh and carried tail well. 

 1827. Irish Red and White Setter - Limit Dog

1ST 3629 - Gilliegrae So Berry Excited JW (Mr G J & Mrs G A Hart)

 A young dog who is still developing but could not deny his attributes. He has a smaller frame. Very nice head and eye shape which is correct colour and he has ample stop. Good neck length showing correct arch which is well muscled. He has the best forehand showing correct return of upper arm and prosternum. He is tight at elbows and correct depth. Good length of rib, a little shorter coupled. Moved well from all angles. Pleased to award him the DCC.

 2ND 3637 - Roanjora Cremant De Savoie avec Eusanit JW (Miss R & Miss S & Mrs T McDonald & Westwood & Westwood)

Preferred overall length of this dog who is also well ribbed back, but winner possessed a better forehand construction. This dog has a level topline followed by a good tailset but carried a little high on the move today and was also a little close behind. 

 3RD 3635 - Rhoswendale Game Is On Again for Viszaset (Imp Fin) (Mr S & Mrs M & Miss N Martin & Martin & Green)

1828. Irish Red and White Setter - Open Dog

1ST 3639 - Roanjora Cremant De Lux Copperwhite JW (Mrs L R Ward)

 Balance dog showing a firm level topline and enough return of upper arm. Good length of body. Pleasant head with dark eye, good stop correct depth of muzzle and low set ears. Strong neck of good length. Straight forelegs and neat feet. Moved well.

 2ND 3624 - Sh Ch Daithi Shadow Dog with Ferngate (Imp Pol) (Mrs A B & Mr S H Catton & Cook)

 Slightly shorter coupled but sill well ribbed back. Enough neck which is strong but not quite as good in shoulder as 1st. Firm topline. Has a kind expression, dark eye and low set ears. Straight front but would have preferred more return of upper arm. Moved ok.

1ST 3625 - Aislingwood Amber Fields (Mrs K Clark)

 Litter sisters and similar comments apply. Preferred head and forehand of winner. Has better depth and good bend of stifle. Pleasant head and enough stop and depth of flew. Moderate bone. Stood a little bum high today but can be forgiven in a baby. Moved steadier than sister today.

 2ND 3630 - Aislingwood Copper Dawn (Mrs G Hawkins)

 Preferred sister’s head at present. Has a good neck with nice arch. Level topline and she is also well ribbed back. Has enough stifle. Not quite the depth of winner at the moment. Moved ok.

1ST 3632 - Coolfin Baltic Turn The Page (Miss P Jakins)

 Balanced bitch. Nice head with good stop, good eye shape and colour. Reachy neck, enough depth of chest, well ribbed and good length of loin. Level topline and good tail. Enough stifle. Movel well. RBCC

 2ND 3631 - Rubethan Florentine of Aislingwood (Mrs G Hawkins)

 Pleasant head but slightly narrower in muzzle. Well ribbed back and showing good spring. Good bend of stifle and width of thigh. Lacked condition today but I believe she has recently had a litter.

1ST 3623 - Sh Ch Ambancy This Is Me (Mrs J Barnes)

 Balanced bitch. Well proportioned head with good eye shape and colour. Has a firm topline which was held on the move. Good depth of chest and showing correct forechest. Well ribbed back with good spring. Straight front and neat feet. Well angled stifle and good width of second thigh. Well muscled throughout. Moved well with correct tail carriage. BCC & BoB.
