SAMOYED The Northern Samoyed Society 22nd March 2026 Judge: Mr S Gwynne BIS : Tarasinska’s Siberianmist Odin RBIS : Bee’s Rosskaja Ginjo Pearl For Snowbiscuit BOS : Bee’s Rosskaja Ginjo Pearl For Snowbiscuit DCC : Tarasinska’s Siberianmist Odin RDCC : Collinson’s Vandreem Imperial Mario at Norjack JW BCC : Bee’s Rosskaja Ginjo Pearl For Snowbiscuit RBCC : Kirkwood & Carruthers’ CH Lisa Z Limanowskiej Kosiny to Vandreem (Imp POL) Best Puppy : Ashbourne’s Angelicus Fernando Best Veteran : Tarasinka’s Wolf In Sheep’s Shin (Imp POL) I would like to thank my exhibitors for bringing some wonderfully presented & fit Samoyed’s under me and the Northern Samoyed Society for the Invitation to judge their Championship Show. I thought the show was well setup and run. The red theme and mats set off the dogs, however a few did struggle with them being slightly slippier than some. Having been involved with the breed since I was a very young boy with my parents and since then with my Wife, I have always had a Samoyed around until we lost our 14 Year old last year. Tara, was one of the naughtier Sam’s in our lives, but she excelled in confirmation and Construction, breed type and could out move most. She was a credit to her late Breeder Val Freer. Samoyed’s as a breed have always had a range of type, size and quality, but in my entry this time I did feel with the reducing numbers there was not the underlying strength and quality we have seen in the past and as a whole far less muscle tone. Muscle is something that is relatively easy to improve and will help in terms of movement. Presentation is another that is relatively cheap, but takes time. These are not criticisms just observations, as lack of time is the main reason we no longer have a Samoyed in our lives after more than 50 years. BPD/B (0 Entries) Abs: 0 MPD (2 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: Ashbourne’s Angelicus Fernando At eight months this boy was up to size, but well balanced and in full coat with a good plume correctly set over back. He has a pleasing head & expression, with good pigmentation. Out moved 2nd to take the class and went on to take Best puppy dog & Best puppy in show. 2nd: Mann’s Vandreem Imperial Linken At six months this pup was not as settled on the move and enjoying making his owner work. Good pigmentation and well presented, would have preferred a darker eye & the mouth needs to mature. In excellent well presented coat for age, with a pretty puppy head coat. PD (2 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: Foster’s Artsam Shining Future Hero for Hakchumichi Very pleasing head and expression with full good pigmentation, correct eye shape and that all important Sammy smile. In full and well presented coat, although a little wavy. Soundly constructed and nicely put together. Moving well and finished with good well carried tail. 2nd: Mann’s Vandreem Imperial Linken JD (2 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: Rojoswska’s From Oslo With Snow White Touch Of The Sky to Arcticuno (imp POL) Up to size in well presented coat, good pigmentation, with well set ears that had a lovely biscuit tip. Correct eye set & shape, but the overall expression was missing the up turned lip that gives that Sammy smile. Although well put together and well proportioned, this junior was certainly not settled on the move today. 2nd Hunt & Honey’s Artsam Bring The Moon Giving a little away to first in terms of age this lad has has the Sammy smile with good pigmentation, correct eye shape and a good plume and has a very harsh coat. Needs to strengthen on the move. YD (1 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: Haffenden’s Novaskaya Yolo Lefay JW At 21 months this boy was a little playful today and making his handler work hard to try and control him. Pleasing head and expression with well set and feathered ears, good pigmentation, correct stop, but missing that up turned lip. Well set head and correct length of neck set well on shoulders providing a good arch of neck, the outline was completed with a well coated tail of correct set and length. TYRO D (1 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: Mann’s Vandreem Imperial Linken Now in his third class he is starting to settle on the move and was moving true this time around, but still lacking in drive. PGD (2 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: Collinson’s Vandreem Imperial Mario at Norjack JW A 15 month male being shown & handled to advantage and the best here today in terms of presentation. I would have preferred a little less of him, but what we have is well balanced and in good proportion. Correct angulation, up on toes with some nice feathering. Moved well to win the class. He has a nice head and expression, but it does not quite hit the mark for me and I can not quite put my finger on why. He was sporting a snow nose today, which should pigment up in the summer months to come. Plenty of quality in this package overall. He went on to take RES Dog CC. 2nd: Woodhead’s Nikara It’s Kamochi with Pasha More of a traditional style of dog, who was being a little naughty for his handler, which meant he was unsettled on the day and could do better, A little longer cast and a little down in hock and pastern. LD (1 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: Shepheard’s Samhaven Driftin High to Shianise A 2 year old male in excellent coat that was presented to advantage. Pleasing head and expression, well balanced, although would have preferred a slightly smaller eye. Has a tendency to stand under himself, which does not help his proportions. He found it difficult to move on the mats today, slipping as he was trying to drive. OD (7 Entries) Abs: 3 1st: Tarasinska’s Siberianmist Odin A well balanced and proportioned male who was handled to advantage. In excellent coat that was well, but not overly presented. Very pleasing head & expression, correct eye shape and set, correct bite, well set ears of correct size, finished with that Sammy smile. Correct length of neck well set on shoulder, good spring of rib, correct coupling length, finished with a well set tail of correct length. Correct angulation front and rear, however he was carrying a little more weight than is my preference, which if lost would sharpen him up all round. He went on to take BIS. 2nd: Jebson, Jebson, King & Jebson’s CH Vandreem Imperial Ripasso JW Pleased in expression, in good coat with good feathering. Moved well, but has a tendency to stand a little long. 3rd: Bobrowski & Kirkwood’s CH Vandream Imperial Breeze over Bereziki VB (3 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: Haffenden’s CH Novaskaya Xander Lefay JW An 8 year male in good well presented coat, complemented with good featherings, good tail set of the correct length. He only showed his age in terms of his bite and a snow nose. He had correct angulation that enabled he to out move the class and was both true and straight on the move. 2nd: Jones & Kirkwood’s CH Vandreem Imperial Kazhiya JW Up in terms of size for me. In exceptional coat, with a pleasing head and expression. He was flying his tail today and although moved well, but did not have the drive of 1st. Good bite for age. 3rd: Short’s Zakaytia Angel Of Mine MPB (1 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: Wickenden’s Lupussky Eos Skadi A pretty 8 month old girl, with correct head & expression, well set and padded eras, good eye shape and good pigmentation. She was not settled today on the move or on the stand and was flying her tail. She has time on her side and overall is well balanced. PB (3 Entries) Abs: 1 1st: Hunt’s Artsam Beloved 11 months and right out of coat apart from profuse tail that was well set and firmly planted on her back. She has a very pleasing head and expression, although has a slight turn up on muzzle. She enjoyed playing her handler up, but managed to move well to take the class. Well muscled. 2nd: Fowler’s Artsam Butterfly Again 11 months and being shown by one of the breeds younger handlers, who had a tendency to overshoot his pup, by that I mean he needs to keep nose more level rather than pointing skywards. Well proportioned & moved well, again another that was well muscled. JB (1 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: Jebson’s Vandreem Imperial Malari 15 month old girl who is well proportioned and generally stands within her frame. Good angulation, that meant she moved true and straight. She has a pleasing head and expression, correct eye shape, although I would have preferred a little more up turn, but does have the Sammy smile, that has been missing on so many today. YB (2 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: Jennings Original Beauty Lady Orleansnow JW (Imp CZE) This girl was certainly making her handler work today. She has a pleasing head and expression, with excellent pigmentation and that all important Sammy smile. She stands within her frame and in correct proportion, with her tail curling to one side nicely over her back. In good coat with with ample feathering. Correct length of neck nicely set on shoulders. Moved well to take class. 2nd: Woodhead’s Novaskaya Yalana Lefay at Pashka I loved the playful character of this girl! Another with a pleasing head and expression, with a well set tail of correct length. Giving alot away in terms of coat today. Very unsettled on the move, but it was nice to feel she was very well muscled in rear. TYRO B (2 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: Walton’s Brilantico Cloud Dreams What a handful, but she was enjoying her day. Once settled out moved 2nd to take 1st place. She’s well proportioned, but a little over angulated in rear for me and would have preferred a slightly sweeter head. 2nd: Naylor’s Croftdouglas Sassy Sileas at Karenshko More of a traditional style on Sam with that all important smile. Well proportioned with a good tail, would have preferred a slightly darker eye. PGB (0Entries) Abs: 0 LB (5 Entries) Abs: 2 1st Bee’s Rosskaja Ginjo Pearl For Snowbiscuit A lovely girl standing that stands proud and just picture perfect. Well angulated front and rear together with correct proportions and stand up on her feet. She has a good length of neck well set on shoulders, but can be over shown at times (nose needs to be just off level, not skyward pointing). She has a lovely head piece in correct proportion. The overall picture is complemented with a firm tuck up and a profuse tail swept to the left over her back to complete the picture. Rear movement was perfect moving true & straight. Another with that all important Sammy characteristic, the Smile. She went on to take Bitch CC, Res Best in Show and Best Opposite Sex 2nd: Brandenberg & Smith’s Novaskaya Yva Lefay by Taronakits This girl was handled well and was excellently presented. However can have a tendency to stand under her self at times, but when stood correctly stands proud with her well proportioned neck set well on her shoulders, her profuse tail completing the picture. She moved well around the ring to take second place. 3rd: Cornwell’s Jewel Child Of Joy Orleansnow (Imp CZE) OB (5 Entries) Abs: 1 1st: Kirkwood & Carruther’s CH Lisa Z Limanowskiej Kosiny to Vandreem (Imp POL) Another very well presented girl in good coat with correct texture. She stands picture perfect at all times and is well feathered. She has a pleasing head with well padded ears that are correctly set, good correct eye shape, but would have preferred a little more up turn of lip. Overall well constructed, with a shorter coupling than most today, well bodied, but could have had more tuck up. If I could have just shrunk her a little, she may have pushed harder in the challenge, Res Bitch CC. 2nd: Tarasinka’s Siberianmist Lagertha A well balanced girl, with a pleasing head & expression complete with smile. I would have liked a slightly darker eye. I felt she was somewhat lacking in muscle and had a tendency to move a little erratically at times. 3rd: Owen’s Svetlen’s Barn Owl VB (4 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: Tarasinka’s Wolf In Sheep’s Skin (Imp POL) In Excellent coat, well bodied, stands giving the correct outline, with correct tail carriage completing the picture. Pleasing head with correct eye, although would have preferred a slightly smaller ear. Well muscled and moving soundly. Preferred the overall package of this bitch with her firm tuck up, taking 1st place. 2nd: Brandenberg & Smith’s Ch Taronkits It’s Kwest JW Sporting a snow nose this girl is starting to show her age, but moved and showed well, she can stand under herself at times. In good well presented coat. 3rd: Collinson’s Nikita Secret Love by Norjack JW Sean Gwynne 20/4/26
