Thank you to the Club for the kind invitation to judge their Championship Show and to my lovely stewards Molly and Noah for keeping the ring running as smoothly as possible considering the usual clashes of classes when two shows run simultaneously, and to all the exhibitors for a such a fantastic entry.

Overall health has improved since my last appointment with wider open nostrils and no obvious signs of respiratory distress. Pigmentation is much improved with only one or two dogs lighter in eye and nails. Top lines, however, need to improve as some dogs exhibited more of a roach/camel back than the desired level top line. Narrower fronts also spoil movement in otherwise quality dogs. I really noticed the practice of baiting on the table. As dogs try to reach the bait they rarely stand still, making it particularly challenging to examine them. .

1st Hickey's Gio do Gio Pep Guardiola (Imp)

7½ year old fawn dog, well pigmented head with slightly heavier button ears that are set well, fine wrinkled head, dark expressive eyes, that are well filled under, would prefer slightly wider nostrils, well boned front and neat feet, good crest of neck leading to a good spring of rib, tail set slightly loose. Would prefer shorter coat, moved ok. An elegant gentleman enjoying his day out. BVD

1st Arnold-Strange's Weaverham Photo Finish for Snugglepug 

Caught my eye as he entered the ring. Although up to size at the moment, this young gleaming black dog has so much to like. Well balanced with a fine short coat who stands fore square. He has a strong well defined wrinkled head with the most beautiful expression. He has good width of skull and and neat button ears which are slightly on the large size at the moment, however this does not detract from his overall virtues. He has clear dark expressive eyes that are well filled under and wide open nostrils, good width of muzzle and a good fit of mouth. Good depth of brisket and fore chest. Well boned straight front that was one of the best fronts of the day with correct shoulder placement, good reach of neck leading to a well barrelled rib and straight top line. moved very well BPD, BBD, BPIS

2nd Crother's Hazempugs Bumper Tom

A quality fawn puppy 71/2 months old, with good substance and bone. Head maturing well with fine well set ears, good pigmentation and clear dark eyes. I would just prefer slightly wider nostrils. Well boned straight front, good arch of neck, well sprung rib and correct level top line, nice tail set. Moved and shown well.

1st Turnbull's Nicobri's Suit's you Sir 

Compact fawn puppy who let everyone know he was there and was thoroughly enjoying himself. A puppy with a huge personality. Masculine fine wrinkled well pigmented head with correct set neat ears dark clear eyes and alert expression, good nostrils and wide muzzle. Well boned front with neat feet and good shoulder placement, brisket and fore chest need to develop. Good crest of neck leading to a good barrel and spring of rib, well balanced and compact, held top line on the move with correct tail set and tight twist. Well muscled 1st & 2nd thigh and good angulation, moved freely with a typical puggy roll. Another one for the future.

2nd Long & Linnet's Conquell Cause no Bother 

11½ months old quality clear fawn with well pigmented head, dark expressive eyes and fine wrinkled head. Good nostrils and fit of mouth. Well boned straight front but down on pasterns which affected his front movement. Lovely reach of neck leading to well barrelled rib and good top line with lovely tight twist. Preferred movement of 1st

.

Arnold-Strange's Snugglepug Thingamajigg 

10 month old well pigmented fawn masculine puppy who stood square and cobby, lovely fine wrinkled head, neat fine ears and clear dark eyes with beautiful soft expression that are well cushioned under. Lovely wide open nostrils and good width of muzzle. Straight well boned front with neat black nails. Correct sloped shoulder placement, good reach of neck and well barrelled rib, correct level top line and tight well set twist. Moved well around the ring.

1st Crother's Hazempugs Buster  

This year old boy combines the correct size with plenty of bone and substance. Strong head, well filled out under dark clear eyes, good width of muzzle and plenty of defined fine wrinkle. Well set ears, straight front with good fore chest and neat feet, enough reach of neck, well barrelled rib, tight twist. Moved very well. Just needs to strengthen through his top line .

1st Linnett's Roxmarr Pimms Royale at Conquell 

181/2 month old clear fawn quality dog who stands four square and is balanced from every angle. Fine well defined wrinkled head with the deepest pigmentation. Neat fine ears, clear very expressive dark eyes that are well filled under, wide open nostrils with good width of muzzle and good fit of mouth. Straight well boned front with good depth of brisket and fore chest leading to neat black nails. Lovely crest of neck, well barrelled rib and correct tail set, kept his top line as he moved effortlessly around the ring. I am sure he has a bright future and the best is yet to come. RDCC RBIS.

2nd Kelsall's Kelbrend Mister Marmalade JW 

20 month old well built boy with good pigmentation, head finely wrinkled and correct well set button ears. Clear dark eyes that are well filled under, nostrils could be wider, good width and depth of muzzle..Correct front assembly with good fore chest, well arched neck leading to a good spring and barrel of rib and lovely tail set. His saddle on his top line can give the illusion of it being incorrect but it is level on the move and he moved very well.

1st Bailey's Felice Vincenza 

Up to size 2 year old fawn, with well pigmented masculine head that is finely wrinkled with clear definition. Well set fine ears, clear dark expressive eyes, well placed nose with neat nose roll and wide open nostrils, good fit of mouth. Well boned straight front with good shoulder placement. Lovely crest of neck, well barrelled rib with good tail set. Would prefer a better top line. Moved very well.    

2nd Green's Nicobri Lord of the Dance 

Smart fawn with strong expressive head, fine wrinkle and well set fine dark ears, very good pigmentation, clear dark eyes and large open nostrils. Well boned front, neat feet, well arched neck, level top line with good spring of rib and correct tail set. Moved ok but preferred front of 1st.

1st O'Leary & Rutherford's Haselorhill First Edition from Mopszawawa

Compact cobby balanced fawn, clean head with plenty of defined wrinkle, neat fine button ears, clear dark eyes. Would prefer slightly more open nostrils, well padded muzzle enough bone on front with good depth of brisket, short back with well barrelled rib, and nice tail set, well muscled 1st and 2nd thigh with good turn of stifle and well angulated rear. Moved very well with purpose.

2nd Long's Conquell Cabinet of Clowns 

Slightly larger fawn with beautiful head and expression, clear dark eyes, good nostrils and width of muzzle. Straight front but, as more upright in shoulder, could be wider. Neat feet with black nails. Good fore chest and depth of brisket. Lovely crest of neck, level well barrelled top line with tight twist. Well angulated rear. Lost to 1st on front movement but close decision. .

Slightly larger masculine well balanced fawn, full of bone and substance, with a beautiful soft expression. His head is clearly defined with the deepest pigmentation, eyes round and clear. I would prefer a slightly darker eye but this did not detract from his overall qualities. Correct nose placement with good nostrils and good fit of mouth, well boned straight front and neat feet with black nails. Lovely reach of neck, well barrelled rib and neat twist. Kept top line on the move. Handled and showed very well.   

2nd Dawson-Payne & Mousley's Ch Judamie Eltons Sun JW

Another quality fawn, 3 years old with so much to like. Short and cobby with good bone and substance, strong defined head qualities with good pigmentation and fine wrinkle, clear round dark eye and good width of muzzle. Well boned straight front, good reach of neck leading to a level well barrelled top line that he kept on the move. Moved soundly around the ring. Just preferred front movement of 1st.

Gleaming masculine black, all in proportion. He has a beautifully expressive head with fine ears and wrinkle. Clear round eyes that are well padded under, wide open nostrils and a good width of muzzle. Straight front with plenty of bone and neat feet. Good crest of neck, well barrelled rib and level top line, high set twist, well angulated rear and moved very well. Would just prefer a slightly shorter coat.

3 year old male who caught my eye when he entered the ring. Strong masculine dog, very balanced from every angle. He has the most appealing dark pigmented head, with clearly defined fine wrinkle and neat ears. Large round dark lustrous eyes well padded underneath, wide open nostrils, neat nose roll. good length of fore face and good fit of mouth. Well boned front with good fore chest and brisket, neat feet. Correct reach of neck and level top line with good spring of rib. Good tail set and well angulated rear with well muscled 1st and 2nd thigh and good turn of stifle. This dog comes into his own on the move and he strides around the ring as if he owns it. Pleased to award him DCC & BIS  

2nd Collier's Pugistie Meant to Bee JW

4 year old fawn standard balanced dog with good head qualities that are clearly defined with good pigmentation. Neat fine ears and soft clear dark eyes. Nostrils could be a little wider. Straight well boned front with good depth of brisket, good arch of neck and level top line, tight twist, and well angulated rear. Moved ok. Handled very well. Preferred front movement of 1st.

Well this lady didn't get the memo she was in the veteran class as she was like a puppy on the table and thoroughly enjoying her day out! 8½ years old quality fawn, compact and elegant, strong but feminine head well pigmented, very clear dark sparkling eyes that expressed what a good time she was having. Good nostrils and fit of mouth. Straight front and neat feet, would prefer a slightly better crest of neck. Well barrelled rib, level top line and a lovely short soft coat. Good tail set with tight twist and well angulated on the rear. Moved very well. Shown in beautiful condition, this lady is a credit to her owner BVIS        

2nd Mitchell & Willis Zobear Bluebell Dancer of Rosewitch

Another elegant lady. 10½ years old, shown in good condition. Feminine head with well defined wrinkle and good pigmentation. Round dark eyes that could be clearer, good depth of brisket on well boned front. Correct reach of neck and level top line with good spring of rib. Tight twist well set, enough angulation moved very well. Just preferred head and front of 1st.

Clear confident fawn puppy of 81/2 months that caught my eye when she entered the ring. Very feminine expressive head with the darkest of eyes and small fine well set ears. Lovely outline with well boned straight front, plenty of rib, slightly longer in back but firm top line that she kept on the move. Well set tight twist, well angulated rear end with good turn of stifle. Moved and handled very well.     

2nd Farrugia's Hazempugs May Rose

Pretty girl with clear defined wrinkle and good pigmentation, fine ears that need to settle, clear dark expressive eyes well padded under, good width of muzzle. Straight front but I would prefer more bone. Enough brisket. Good reach of neck, well barrelled rib, nice tail set and twist, held top line on the move. Handled and shown well.

Standard sized quality fawn puppy with the deepest of pigmentation leading to a well cushioned feminine head and large clear dark eyes. Enough bone on a straight front with good fore chest and neat feet Good reach of neck and spring of rib, level top line that she kept on the move, good twist. Lovely overall outline. Moved well but just slightly wider movement on rear.

Smart showy jet black balanced bitch with gleaming short fine coat. Won this class on her beautiful expressive head which is finely wrinkled. Clear dark eyes, well cushioned under, good nostrils and length of fore face. Straight front, enough neck, good barrel of rib, well let down hocks. She relaxed on the table dipping her top line, however on the move kept it level and moved very well. BBB

2nd Dawson-Payne & Mousley's Judamie's Edith's Sunshine

Another quality fawn, just slightly higher on leg at the moment, but beautifully balanced feminine head with deep well pigmented that is well defined. Neat thin button ears, clear dark eyes with a lovely soft expression, good nostrils and fit of mouth. Well boned front with enough brisket, good reach of neck and spring of rib. Correct tail set and twist. Moved very well keeping top line on the move.

Ultra feminine compact fawn bitch who excels in movement. She has a very expressive head with well defined fine wrinkle, small fine neat ears, dark lustrous clear eyes that sit within a well pigmented head. Good length of fore face, good fit of mouth. Well boned front with good fore chest and shoulder placement leading to neat feet and black nails. Lovely crest of neck flows to a short back with good spring of rib, level top line and a well set tight twist. She is balanced from every angle, moved with determination around the ring. Handled and shown well. Pleased to award her a well deserved BCC & BOS. 

2nd Baert & Sabbe's Bubbapug Creme Anglasis at Brigsam B JCH

18 months old quality bitch with lots to like. She has a finely wrinkled pretty head with no sign of coarseness, fine small black ears that are correctly placed and frame her dark clear sparking eyes, small neat nose roll that does not impinge her nostrils which are of moderate size and good length of fore face. Straight front with enough bone and good depth of brisket, neat feet, Well arched neck, good barrel and spring of rib, level top line and neat tight twist. Well let down hocks. Moved very well with a typical puggy roll.

Well boned straight front, good reach of neck leading to good barrel and spring of rib, level top line, and well let down hocks, neat feet. Moved very well around the ring with a typical puggy roll. On her toes in the challenge and pushed hard for top honours which I am sure will come.     

2nd McAleny's Macmoore Bovvies Girl JW

Smart, well put together quality girl with a cobby and compact body. Pretty feminine head that is very expressive with dark clear lustrous eyes, defined pigmentation and a neat nose roll. Well boned front, good fore chest and correct sloping shoulders. Well arched neck, good spring and barrel of rib, tight twist and well angulated back end. Moved very well. Unlucky to meet 1st in this class.

Well set twist, well let down hocks and good turn of stifle. Moved and shown well. Another quality bitch.

2nd Rutherford's Afterglow Dreamsicle with Potbelli 

Smaller, smart and compact girl with a nice out line. Pretty head with defined fine wrinkle and good pigmentation, clear dark eyes and good nose placement with wide open nostrils. Enough bone on a straight front with good depth of brisket and neat feet. Enough reach of neck leading to a well ribbed level top line and well set twist. Well angulated back end. Moved very well.

Gleaming black shown in lovely condition. Beautiful head and expression, neat button ears, clear dark lustrous eyes. Nostrils ok Good length and depth of muzzle, good front assembly with well laid back shoulder and good depth of brisket and neat feet. Lovely crest of neck and well barrelled rib with well set twist. Moved well. I would prefer her to carry slightly less weight. 

2nd Hickey's Luna Bell Lou 

Lovely head and expression, not overdone in anyway. Slightly heavy button ears but set correctly. Clear dark expressive eyes, good nose placement, neat nose roll and good fit of mouth. Well boned straight front with neat feet. Good reach of neck. Would prefer a slightly shorter back but firm top line and good twist. Lost to 1st on rear movement.

Smart, small compact and well put together bitch that is balanced from every angle. Beautiful clear fawn with the deepest pigmentation that is fine and well defined. Small neat fine ears, dark expressive eyes, and good depth of fore face. Correct front assembly with good depth of brisket and well laid back shoulder, neat feet and black nails. Enough neck, well barrelled rib and level top line with tight well set twist. Well angulated rear, moved very well. RBCC  

2nd Cannon & Burrows Pugistie Queen Bee at Flashnik 

Another quality bitch. Slightly larger type but lots to like. Pretty head with super pigmentation and clearly defined wrinkle. Dark expressive eyes, good nose placement, nostrils ok, wide muzzle with good fit of mouth. Straight well boned front with good fore chest, lovely crest of neck, good spring and barrel of rib, level top line and neat tight twist. Moved very well.
