Russian Toy 

I would like to thank the Officers and Committee for their kind invitation, and my steward, Mr Bob Potts who ensured the day ran so smoothly.

Most importantly, I would like to thank the exhibitors for allowing me the privilege of judging such a lovely, quality entry of 27 dogs from an entry of 27 with just 3 absent. 

I was honoured to assess such a worthy entry. Overall, I found the quality to be very good. However, several exhibits did not want to be handled on the table, lacked the true temperament, that is so characteristic of the breed.

Class PD (5 Entries) 

1st: Holyland – Ollarena Mini Cooper  

Brown & Tan, Long Haired, 8 months old. A handsome young dog with a beautifully masculine, well-proportioned small head. He has excellent large ears, set high, dark rounded eyes with excellent pigmentation, and a correct scissor bite. His long neck, with a slight arch, flows into a straight front. Fine-boned throughout, he moved soundly with a good, brisk gait, carrying himself well on neat, compact, small oval feet. His moderately long coat was presented in lovely condition. A very promising youngster with an exciting future ahead. Awarded Best Dog Puppy and Best Puppy in Breed.

2nd: Codling – Lingkiss Trustfall 

Black & Tan, Long Haired, 7 months old. Another attractive young dog with the correct coat texture. He has a pleasing head and expression, a nice neck, and a well-balanced body. As the class progressed, he grew in confidence. Today, he lacked the maturity of the winner, but he should continue to improve as he develops with age. Presented in good condition throughout.

3rd: Holyland – Ollarena Love To Boogie

Class PGD (4 Entries) 

1st: Codling – Shishalee’s Sex Bomb   

Red with Black Overlay, Long Haired, 22 months old. A well-balanced exhibit with pleasing head proportions, excellent pigmentation, and large, round eyes. He has a complete scissor bite, a long neck, a straight front, the correct coat texture, and a well-carried tail. He moved well, maintaining a lovely outline, and was presented in superb condition.

2nd: Hobbs – Grande Misterio Carte Blanche Aoc For Beaconsfylde (IMP LVA)  

Red with Black Overlay, Long Haired, 4 years old. A very nice exhibit with a very pleasing head and expression. He has a well-balanced body shape and was presented in good condition. I just preferred the movement of the winner on the day. He scored in outline and was handled well to show him to his best advantage.

3rd: Thomas-Wright – Warrsan Ginger Ninja 

Class OD (3 Entries)  

1st: Orchard & Holyland – Czech Ch Vivaprima Turmalin Royal (IMP LVA)  

Red with Black Overlay, Long Haired, 3 years old. Stood out for quality and breed type. Such a lovely dog to go over, with a good small head, a well-defined stop, and large, rounded dark eyes. He has large, well-feathered ears, well set high and carried erect to great advantage. His long, lean neck flows into a straight front, and he is fine-boned throughout, with a slightly arched loin. At one with his handler, he moved soundly with a brisk, effortless action. His coat is of the correct texture and was presented in superb condition. A worthy winner of Best Dog and Best Opposite Sex.

2nd: Thomas-Wright – Warrsan Marvel Wolf 

Black & Tan, Smooth Haired, 4 years old. Another attractive dog with a coat of the correct texture. He has a pleasing head and expression, a long, lean neck, a correct, slightly sloping topline, and correct ear carriage. He showed and moved soundly, although I just preferred the movement of the winner on the day. Presented in excellent condition.

3rd: Slack – Bel Ch Grande Misterio Incanto Heaven Eversbabes (IMP LVA)

Class PB (4 Entries) Abs: 2 

1st: Leach – Moyadacha Goodroot Tsarina   

Red with Black Overlay, Long Haired, 8 months old. A quality, feminine youngster with good breed type. She has a good bite, good-sized ears and eyes, a fine muzzle, and a nice forehand with fine bone. Her ears are well placed, with a straight front and a coat of the correct texture, presented in immaculate condition. She moved soundly with a brisk, positive action. A promising puppy. Awarded Best Puppy Bitch.

2nd: Leach – Moyadacha Goody Gumdrops  

Red with Black Overlay, Long Haired, 7 months old. A promising puppy with large, thin, erect ears. She needs to gain more confidence, which should come with further outings and experience. She moved soundly but lost out on maturity against stronger competition on the day. Presented in lovely condition.

Class JB (1 Entries) 

1st: Thomas-Wright – Warrsan Girl In White Satin   

Dark Brown & Tan, Smooth Haired, 16 months old. A quality bitch with excellent breed type, large, thin, high-set ears, large dark rounded eyes, and a good scissor bite. She is not yet making the most of herself and needs time to settle and gain confidence. She moved well enough and was presented in nice condition.

Class PGB (3 Entries)

1st: Holyland – Ollarena Saffi Ari   

Red with Black Overlay, Long Haired, 22 months old. A good-sized bitch with lovely feminine head proportions, excellent well-fringed, high-set erect ears, and large, round dark eyes. She has small, neat feet and scores well in outline. Her movement was sound, with a smart, brisk action, and she was presented in lovely condition.

2nd: Wakefield – Shishalee’s Glamour Girl  

Red with Black Overlay, Long Haired, 22 months old. Another attractive bitch with a coat of the correct texture. She has a pleasing feminine head and expression, a long neck with a slight arch, a good body, and correct ear carriage. Sadly, she was not showing herself to her full potential today. She moved well and was presented in excellent condition.

3rd: Lynch – Garnox Katerina     

Class OB (5 Entries) Abs: 1 

1st: Holyland – Bel Croat Lit Lux Nl Ch INT Ch Ollarena Queena  

Brown & Tan, Smooth Haired, 5 years old. My star of the day. Entered the ring with great presence, Absolutely stood out for quality and breed type. Such a lovely bitch to go over, with a beautiful feminine head and expression, a well-defined stop, and large, round, dark eyes. She has well-placed, large, thin ears, a long neck with a slight arch, fine bone, and a good forehand. Excellent body and outline with good tuck-up. She moved soundly with a brisk, showy action and was presented in excellent condition. A worthy winner of Best Bitch and Best of Breed.

2nd: Leach – Swiss Ch Czech Ch Moyadacha Good Golly    

Red with Black Overlay, Long Haired, 4 years old. Another of lovely quality. She showed and moved so soundly, never putting a foot wrong. She has a lovely head with a correct bite and large, round, dark, well-shaped eyes. Her large, thin, erect ears enhance her expression. She has a lovely outline and body, with a brisk, sound movement, and was presented in excellent condition. A very close decision, and I was delighted to award her Reserve Best Bitch.

3rd: Wakefield – Ollarena’s Yasnaja At Shishalee     

Class SBDorB (1 Entries) 

1st: Wakefield – Shishalee’s I’m Too Sexy  

Brown & Tan, 21 months old. A masculine dog with a pleasing head and expression. He stands square, with a shapely body, moderate hind angulation, and nice fine bone. He is slightly pinning in front. Sadly, his coat was not in condition today. Pleased to award him Best Special Beginner in Breed.

Class VD/B (1 Entries) 

1st: Orchard & Holyland – Multi Ch Fiesta Show Russian Pride (IMP BLR) 

Black & Tan, Long Haired. 8 years old. A lovely veteran with a masculine head, large dark rounded eyes, a good scissor bite, and large, thin ears which he uses to great advantage. His overall construction is sound, and this is reflected in his movement. He has a lovely outgoing, happy temperament and clearly enjoys his time in the ring. I admired his qualities, and he was relishing the outing. Presented in immaculate condition. I was thrilled to award him Reserve Best Dog and Best Veteran in Breed.
