Thank you very much for the lovely entry. As a pastoral allrounder I definitely appreciate the beauty of the breed and the importance of head balance: eyes, ears, expression, skull, muzzle and planes for breed type, at the same time soundness cannot be completely thrown out of the window. Coat comes and goes, that doesn't bother me. Many lacked the required angulation for function, fronts seem to be a particular issue and the standard does call for absolute soundness. This is not meant as a criticism in any way, I hope it helps to explain some of my decisions. Some dogs which looked beautiful standing, just didn't move on the day. It was extremely noisy in the hall which I took into account re: use of ears. I was pleased to find good quality dogs in all colours and there are some super youngsters coming through the classes.

Class 1137 SBD (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: BOYLE, Dr Lynda Winifred Barrenclough Heart Of Gold JW ShCEx OSW VW

Shaded s/w with a good length of head, nice dark eyes and well-set ears. I liked his good reach of neck and ample bone which was proportionate to his size. A little compact but sound moving with an easy gait and well-fitting coat.

2nd: LEESE, Mrs J M Essanjay Fields Of Gold For Firesaga

Much larger boy, a little round in eye, well made in body, carrying a heavy coat, moved well and in super condition for his age, a credit to his owner.

Class 1138 VD (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: BOYLE, Dr Lynda Winifred Barrenclough Heart Of Gold JW ShCEx OSW VW

Class 1139 MPD (2 Entries) Abs: 0

Two super boys of good size and type.

1st: BLAKE, Miss M J Corydon World Vision

Lovely golden s/w well filled in foreface, dark eyes and good ear set, ample reach of arched neck, good body and ribbing with correct tail length, moderate bone and well angled, very sound and free moving, lovely profile, his future looks very bright BPD.

2nd: LOCKYER, Mrs Melissa By D'cossio Timeless Soul At Gataj (imp Spain) Naf

Clear b/m, well-marked with rich tan, balanced headpiece with dark eyes and good ear carriage, correct for bone, balanced angulation, could have a little more length of rib, well-fitting coat and correct tail, needs to strengthen in rear, has bags of time and lots of promise.

Class 1140 PD (2 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: WHD WITHHELD

Class 1141 JD (3 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: LOCKYER, Mrs Melissa Gataj Just Like Jesse James

The best for overall balance and movement on the day. Handsome s/w, very pleasing in head with a soft expression, dark eyes and moulded foreface, very nice proportions with correct bone and chest, well-fitting coat and moved soundly.

2nd: THORNE, Mrs Susan Chelborn Look At Me

B/m with a well -fitting coat, balanced head with correct stop with well-placed eyes and ears giving a beautiful expression although slightly flared in skull, lovely outline, moves well in profile but not as clean behind as 1 today, has plenty of time.

3rd: WILLIAMS, Mrs Jo Mejola Endeavour

Class 1142 YD (4 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: BLAIKIE, Mr R Kourika Dancing On Ice

Well sized, clear b/m with a soft expression from a correct head and eye, liked his profile shape and body, good for chest and rib, correct bone and tight feet, jacket fitted well, sound and free moving, should mature well,

2nd: MOREY, Mrs Lorraine Katherine Brookynut Clyde Barrow

Masculine s/w with a quality head, with well carried ears and well-placed eyes, good front and body, ample neck, a little longer cast than 1 and couldn’t match him for movement today.

3rd: CORBEN, Mrs P Seoirsin Shooting Star Via Caprioara

Class 1145 PGD (3 Entries) Abs: 1

Two very nice dogs

1st: 2359 GEDDES, Mr J N & Mrs V Ingledene Absolute Legend

Tri in gleaming condition with rich tan, masculine and of good size, head is a very typical blunt wedge with good eye shape and well used ears, good length of arched neck, correct proportions with a firm topline and slight rise over loins, correctly angled with a good width of thigh, sound and easy movement with plenty of reach and drive.

2nd: MCCARTE, Mrs M & Mr J Roughrigg Rags'n'riches

S/w again with a very appealing outline, correct in neck and movement with a well laid shoulder and well-muscled rear. I very much appreciated his sweet expression coming from excellent head balance with correct almond eyes and a well-placed stop, beautiful character. Splitting hairs here, just the more fluid side gait of 1 making the difference today.

Class 1146 LD (5 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: PULLIN, Mrs Eileen Barrenclough Diamond Dawn At Myjacks

Masculine s/w of good size and proportions, tends to look a bit stuffy as he has a big coat, for me the soundest and most pleasing in head in the class today, he has a well-shaped body underneath the coat, with a good spring of rib, correct overall proportions and is sufficiently angled to move soundly.

2nd: SKINNER, Miss S Ladnar Makeithappen For Nikal

Well broken and clear coloured b/m, smaller size but a good body shape, a good length of head, a fraction round in eye, well set ears, correct in neck and body with a slight rise over the loin, easy mover, just flying his tail a bit today.

3rd: FARTHING, Mr & Mrs Derrick Didek Once In A Blue Moon

Class 1147 OD (10 Entries) Abs: 3

Very nice class of quality males with not a lot to separate them.

1st: COLLINS, Mr & Mrs Noel & Christine Ch Triburle Bluebolero

Clear silvery b/m, well-marked with rich tan and a large white shawl giving him great beauty. Well sized without any coarseness. Clean length of wedge head, flat skull and moulded foreface. Eye colour and placement, ears and stop, correct. Good length of neck, well arched and fitting into a well angulated front with forelegs straight and good depth of chest. Pleased in proportions with ribs well sprung and strong in loin, good length of tail which was carried low. Sound in all directions with drive off low set hocks, profuse coat which fitted well not obscuring his shape DCC.

2nd: BLAKE, Miss M J Corydon The Grandmaster

Very close up and so pleasing in outline, dark shaded sable, super head and eye shape with strength to underjaw without being deep through and correct ear carriage, good length of arched neck, correct bone, standing slightly longer than high with complementary angulation, good chest and rib with slight rise over loin, strength in rear and another with a correct tail, moved freely RDCC.

3rd: BLAIKIE, Mr R Kourika The ' Gigolo '

Deserves a mention, I really liked this well-balanced, clear b/m too, masculine with an elegant shape, not quite as positive in rear as 1 & 2 today but he very much appealed for beauty and type.

Class 1148 SBB (2 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 2337 BOYLE, Dr Lynda Winifred Timeless Destiny Star Actis Over Barrenclough JW

Very pretty s/w and a lovely size, make and shape. Pretty head with a sweet expression, ample neck and correct front assembly, sound in rear with low set hocks, pleasing in coat and moved very well. BSB.

Class 1149 VB (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: GEDDES, Mr J N & Mrs V Ch Ingledene Sno Wanda

A very beautiful b/m of super breed type and shown in fabulous condition. She has beautiful head planes, well-moulded foreface, correct, eye shape and set and good ear placement. Very balanced and elegant with super construction, neck, bone and body shape. Free striding and sound in hock. Pushed hard for RCC BV.

2nd: FARTHING, Mr & Mrs Derrick Aldreen Illusion In Blue For Didek

Another pretty b/m all in proportion and very shapely, not quite the blunt wedge of 1 being narrower in muzzle but with a flat skull and soft expression, good neck with depth of chest, correct in croup and a well carried tail, sound mover.

Class MPB (3 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: DAVIS, Miss Michelle & WALSH, Mr Jake & LUSTY, Miss Afterhero Fantasma (imp Hun)

Fabulous, confident tri who was in the RCC shortlist, quality all through, holds a shapely outline and has ample bone, liked her head planes, eye placement and ears, lovely neck, well-balanced and functional in angulation, gentle rise over loins and well bent stifles, stands on good feet, very fluid movement with drive from rear showing clean pads, long, well carried tail, delighted to see her take PG2, BPIB, BPB.

2nd: FOY, Mrs O & HAWKINS, Mr B Beldones Orange Blush

Another beautiful puppy, bright s/w her name aptly describes her, beautiful head piece and expression, gorgeous shape with ample neck and a good ribcage, firm topline and sweep over the loin, very sound moving with excellent construction and an immaculate well-fitting coat, they were both worthy as winners, 1 just pipped it with her smooth and free movement, just that little extra style and soundness today but this young lady is top class.

Class 1151 PB (6 Entries) Abs: 2

3 lovely girls, I’m sure they will often change places. 3rd had a most beautiful headpiece and expression with a very shapely body and arched neck, just needs to strengthen in hock, she has great conformation and style.

1st: LOCKYER, Mrs Melissa Gataj Miss Sparkles

Quality s/w with a sweet expression coming from a well-balanced head with a nicely moulded foreface, correct placed stop, eyes and ears. Well made in body and correct in front and rear angulation, nice amount of bone, well-coated, moved soundly with good reach and drive.

2nd: 2403 WRAY-RAMSDEN, Mrs S L Takhisis Lady Is A Tramp

Beautiful tri, very nicely made with a good head, a little staring in expression but has a flat skull and preferred her underjaw to 1, very well made with a balanced and shapely outline, rather reluctant mover but so soundly made, just needs stride out and show what she is made of.

3rd: MCCARTE, Mrs M & Mr J Sweetmint's Yasmin At Roughrigg (imp Nor)

Difficult class with variety in heads, all evenly matched for conformation.

Class 1152 JB (3 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: MOREY, Mrs Lorraine Katherine Brookynut Happy Feet

Attractive s/w with pleasing overall proportions, head is smooth and clean in outline and nicely balanced in proportions with a well-rounded blunt muzzle. Well-shaped body with ample neck and correct proportions and loin. Balanced angulation and sound moving holding her shape.

2nd: LOCKYER, Mrs Melissa Your Majesty Angel Silvestre At Gataj (imp Bel)

S/w who appealed for her balance and size. She has a good width of flat skull with well-placed eyes and good expression but is a little pinched in muzzle. Arched neck with a good body, with correct chest, ribs and loin. Sound moving, and has good, clean rear drive from low set hocks which won her this place.

3rd: WILLIAMS, Mrs Jo Mejola Some Girls Do

Class 1153 YB (3 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: BEARDSWORTH, Mr D & Mrs M Wicani Dulcibella Gyda Maysinder

B/m sound in construction and movement, she has a flat skull and well moulded foreface, a little light in eyes, ample neck well set onto withers, good rib and a firm topline, slightly longer cast, well coated.

2nd: WILLIAMS, Mrs Jo Mejola Edge Of Glory

S/w the winner on first glance with the better head and expression and lovely proportions, lack of coat didn’t bother me, neither did her lack of use of ears but she was not moving soundly today and that cost her the class.

Class 1154 NB (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: WRAY-RAMSDEN, Mrs S L Takhisis Lady Is A Tramp

2nd: CORBEN, Mrs P Erinsgate Cinderella Via Caprioara

B/m with a nice reach of neck, good proportions and a typical outline. Colour could be better broken, head is clean with lovely dark eyes, skull is flat and ears well set, well coated and handled with a lovely nature.

Class 1155 GB (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 2384 RADFORD-HOUSE, Mrs M & DURRANT, MRS F Kiss Me Kate Di Cambiano At Fivejays (imp Ita)

Shapely s/w of good breed type with a balanced head and dark eyes, well placed. Good neck and body proportions with ribs well sprung, moved soundly and carried her tail low, well prepared and handled.

Class 1156 PGB (7 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: SHIPP, Mr Robert Paul & SHIPP, Mrs Margaret Tremaro Million Dollar Baby

Feminine shaded s/w of good type, balanced head with well-placed stop, clean parallel planes, a touch full in eye but they are dark and oblique, ample, well-set neck, gently arched and sits well into the withers, she has a good upper arm and lay of shoulder with complementary hind angulation and this showed in her movement. Very well put together with a well-fitting coat.

2nd: 2369 LOCKYER, Mrs Melissa Gataj All That Glitters

Very pretty s/w with a well moulded head and sweet expression, very shapely with correct proportions, put down in a beautiful fitted coat as were all dogs from this kennel, sound but rather sluggish today. She has so much more to give.

3rd: COLLINS, Mr & Mrs Noel & Christine Triburle Leading Lady

Class 1157 LB (6 Entries) Abs: 3

1st: LLEWELLYN, Mr And Mrs C And J Salsina Blushing Rose

S/w with a soft expression coming from a balanced feminine head, with well set and tipped ears, dark almond eye with oblique placement and good underjaw. She has good shoulders with correct upper arm, nice neck and body, well ribbed back with a slight rise over loins, muscular hindquarters with let-down hocks, correct tail length and carriage and the right amount of coat, she moved soundly, light on her feet, to be picky I would prefer more length of leg but her functional angulation and very pretty head was worthy of reward, she tried to throw it away in the challenge but she had done enough here for RCC.

2nd: MOREY, Mrs Lorraine Katherine Brookynut Hot And Spicy

Another nice sable bitch with a sweet expression, nicely balanced head, dark well-placed eyes, well rounded muzzle with clean underjaw, slightly longer cast than 1, pleased for overall type and shape, moved freely, well coated and handled, not quite the strength of rear of 1.

3rd: CORBEN, Mrs P Wisewyn Don't Stop Me Now Via Caprioara (Imp) Port

Really strong class of beautiful girls

Class 1158 OB (10 Entries) Abs: 4

1st: 2347 CRONK, Mrs Vanessa Ch Skabona If I Saw You In Heaven For Chelborn (Sw)

B/m who combined functionality with beauty. Everything fitted, nothing was stuffy, clean and shapely outline with correct body ratios. Good length of head with flat skull and good parallel planes, well placed stop, dark eyes, well set and moulded foreface. Ample neck with slight arch, well angled front with good depth of chest, strong body well ribbed back and super rear. She was very pleasing both stood and moving where she covered the ground easily, light on her feet and completely sound, just loved her, I made her work in the challenge and she literally took it all in her stride, CC & BOB., well done!

2nd: BLAKE, Miss M J Corydon Cristal Vision

Super tri, in her summer clothes but it just served to show off her lovely shape, she has a gorgeous expression coming from a balanced head, lovely eye shape and placement and good ear set, good body proportions with a well-set neck, lovely front with depth to chest, firm in body with correct loin, tailset and carriage, she was close up to 1 for movement with an effortless long stride with good drive from low set hocks.

3rd: LLEWELLYN, Mr And Mrs C And J Avonfair Secret Love Letter To Salsina
