1. Myers’ Optimus Casey Jones. 6 mth old fawn who shows great promise and made a good account of himself here. Soundly constructed both front and rear, standing true in front and with good width all through. Very well balanced with arched neck of moderate length, firm backline, ribbing developing well and extends well back, breadth to loins and tail of correct set and carriage. Head of correct proportions with square skull of good breadth, pronounced stop, expressive eyes of good colour and placement in the skull, correct ears, breadth to underjaw, good dentition and well pigmented. Moving freely on the down and back and opens up well when viewed in profile with good tail carriage. Obviously only a baby but he has the makings of something special. Best Puppy. Pleased to see he went on to take Puppy Group 3.

2. Bratchie & Baillie’s Optimus Quincy Jones at Skookumbull. This fawn turned out to be the littermate of the winner and although not quite as advanced in development as 1, he also has much to like and is well off for bone. Neck of correct length to balance, pretty good topline, ribbing developing as you would expect for age and good length to ribcage, good width to loin and tail pleased for length, set and carriage. Square skull, the best of eyes, ears of correct size and set, pronounced stop, correct length to muzzle, good mouth and nice dark pigmentation. I liked his angles front and rear and he stands well naturally in front on very good feet. Another who pleased on the move. Just needs more time.

3. Kirman’s Greeneline Dexter

1. Warren’s Crimlisk Cobos Malbec of Copperfield. 13 mth old fawn of excellent temperament. Substantial chap with plenty of bone and certainly all male. Well arched neck of correct length to give balance, firm straight back, good depth to brisket, ribbing well sprung and ribcage of good length, broad muscular loin and tail set on correctly and of pleasing carriage. Masculine headpiece with breadth to his square skull, ears of correct set, eyes of good colour, short broad muzzle, excellent dentition and very good pigmentation. He stands true in front on well arched feet and has very good width to chest. When gaiting, he goes so well when viewed in profile, is accurate coming towards and ok going away.

1. Downs & Myers’ Optimus Johnnie Walker (AI). Fawn just shy of 2 yrs. Not the biggest but this lad pleased for overall type and presented a pleasing outline. Muscular neck, firm through the backline, good depth to chest, ribbing well sprung, broad loin and tail pleased for set and carriage. Masculine head with good skull to muzzle proportions, expressive eyes of good placement in the skull, correct stop, ears set on high, breadth to muzzle and nice dark pigmentation. Good layback of shoulder, well boned straight forelegs, good breadth to chest and firm, muscular hindquarters with correct bend of stifle and well let down hocks. Very much appealed on the move, gaiting well fore and aft and with excellent profile action and carriage. 

2. Popp & Myers’ Optimus Jameson of Penychen JW (AI). Fawn littermate of the winner and close up here. I thought him an excellent size, he is well off for bone and presented a well balanced outline. Muscled, well arched neck, firm straight back, excellent ribbing, chest of good depth, broad loins and tail of good length, set and carriage. Quality head with super expression; square skull of good breadth, pronounced stop, excellent eye and ear, well developed cheeks, broad muzzle of correct length to balance and very good underjaw. He has good angles both ends, stands well in front and he has such good feet. On the move he went well in profile, although his brother just had the edge, he’s nice and firm in the rear but coming towards is a tad untidy. 

3. Thomas & Bull’s Reesley Let’s Have It Then Phoria

1. Bown’s Brinkybull Wilfy's Legacy at Sundabish (AI) (Imp Aus). Two entirely different dogs competed in this class. This 2 yr old fawn took the win with some room to spare. All male and I would guess top end of the standard, he pleased in outline with an excellent neck, well arched and muscular as desired, firm through the backline, good depth to chest, well sprung ribbing, broad well-muscled loin and tail set on well and of pleasing carriage. Masculine head with square skull of good breadth, ears set on high, expressive eyes of good colour and placement, muzzle of correct length to balance, good mouth and well pigmented all through. Standing well in front with good breadth to chest, well arched feet and firm, muscular hindquarters. Powerful profile action with good carriage, plenty of strength in the rear and more than ok coming towards. Well handled. 

2. George’s Priambulls Tiger Bean. 4 yr old red brindle. Hefty lad with lots of bone. Strong neck, ok through the topline, good depth to brisket, well sprung ribs, broad muscular loin, tail set on high of good length and pleasing for carriage. Balanced headpiece with masculine expression; broad skull, eyes of good colour and placement, ears set on high, stop could have a touch more definition, well developed cheeks and broad muzzle. He stands with good width to forechest but would like to see firmer pasterns and he would also benefit from a touch more angulation in the rear. Moving ok on the go around but could be better coming towards.

1. Aston & Pavesi’s Ch Angel’s Phoenix Ron Weasley Astonpride JW (Imp Ita). What a super class this was, certainly gave me much to consider and the five who placed particularly appealed. My winner was found in this 4 yr old red who was so well handled here. Carrying good bone and well-muscled all through, he was a delight hands on. Well arched neck of moderate length, firm backline, brisket of good depth, first class ribbing, there is strength in his broad muscular loin and tail is correct for length, set and carriage. Superb head and expression, all male yet with no suggestion of coarseness. Large skull of good breadth, the very best of eyes and ears, pronounced stop, well developed cheeks, broad muzzle of correct length to balance and good dentition. Impressive front assembly, good width to chest, straight forelegs and well arched feet. Quite outstanding on the move; accurate fore and aft and sublime when viewed in profile. CC & BOB. Pleased to see he later took Group 4.  

2. Myers’ Ch/Nld Ch Optimus Douglas ShCEx. This 5 yr old fawn is another full of quality and of correct construction. Powerfully built, carrying good bone and presented in firm, hard condition. Muscular, well arched neck, chest of good depth, ribs well sprung and ribcage carried well back, broad strong loin and tail just right for set and carriage. Quality head with masculine expression; square skull of good breadth, eyes of good colour and placed well apart, ears set on high, correct stop, well developed cheeks, muzzle pleased for length and breadth, good dentition and well pigmented all through. He has good angles both front and rear and he stands straight with good width to chest and has very good feet. When gaiting, he moved freely on the down and back and opened up well on the go around with excellent drive from the rear. RCC.

3. Roberts’ Ch/Ir Ch Joybull Mister Bossman

1. Kirman’s Greeneline Dexter. 7 mth old fawn who is well off for bone. Nicely arched neck of correct length to balance, firm backline, brisket reaches the elbows, muscular loin and tail set on well. Head of correct proportions but still to fully develop as you would expect; expressive eyes of good colour, ears set on high and nice dark pigmentation. He stands well naturally in front on well arched feet and has sufficient breadth all through, would just like to see a touch more bend of stifle. On the move, he pleased when coming towards but is a touch closer going away. Well handled. Best Special Beginners and later placed second in the Special Beginners Group.

1. Myers’ Optimus Bridget Jones. Feminine 6 mth old fawn who is totally raw right now but has the makings of a very nice bitch. She presents such a good outline with well arched neck of correct length, excellent topline, ribcage of good length, firm loin and tail just right for length, set and carriage. Head is obviously still to develop but she has good skull to muzzle proportions, expressive eyes of good colour and placement, ears are set on high and wide, correct stop and nice dark pigmentation. Excellent angles front and rear, standing true in front on good feet but needing time to fill out in chest. Moving out well on the go around with pleasing carriage and very good when coming towards. Best Puppy Bitch.

1. Spencer’s Islekeepers A Pretty Penny. Fawn bitch coming up to 11 mths. There is so much to like about this girl, pleasing for type and well boned. Strong muscular neck which is well arched, short back, good depth to brisket and well sprung ribbing but with a touch more slope to croup. Feminine headpiece with the required squareness of skull, super eyes, pronounced stop, muzzle good for length and breadth, excellent dentition and lovely dark pigment. She stands just right in front and has a very good forechest. On the move, she pleased when coming and going and she opened up well on the go around and carries herself well.

1. Warren’s Crimlisk Spicy Shiraz of Copperfield. Quality fawn of 13 mths who was so good hands on given her sound construction. Carrying good bone and of excellent type, she is beautifully balanced with well arched neck of moderate length, firm backline, ribbing well developed and ribcage extends well back, muscular loin of good breadth and tail just right for length, set and carriage. Super head and expression, full of femininity, with broad square skull, ears set on high and wide, eyes of good colour, correct stop, well developed cheeks and muzzle of correct length to balance and with good width. Muscular shoulders, straight forelegs, good breadth to forechest and she stands on excellent feet. Moving freely when coming and going and a delight on the go around with such good carriage. Best of temperaments. RCC.

1. Warren’s Anmenta Arabella Allen of Copperfield (Imp Aus) JW. Two very different bitches challenged in this class with the win going to this 20 mth old fawn scoring in body and overall outline. Nicely arched, muscular neck, straight backline, brisket of good depth, ribbing well sprung, broad loin, correct croup and tail set on well and of good carriage. Feminine head with pleasing skull, eyes of good colour but maybe could be a tad further apart, ears are ok, muzzle of correct length to balance and good pigmentation. She stands true in front and pleased in forechest. Moving very well on the go around with good self carriage and also pleased coming towards. 

2. Green & Leys’ XL Bulletproof I Am Titanium from Woodbulls Future (Imp Bel). 19 mth old red who I would describe as ‘scopey’, having a touch more length to neck but it is well arched, she’s firm through the topline, ribbing extends well back and tail pleased for both set and carriage, however I would just like to see a touch more depth to chest and flank and more breadth all through. Nicely proportioned head with feminine expression; very nice eyes for colour and placement in the skull, ears are ok, good underjaw and pleasing pigmentation. She has nice straight forelegs and well arched feet and on the move, she went ok on the down and back but couldn’t quite match the profile action of winner.

1. Turner’s Song Sudaa. 2 yr old fawn with pleasing bone and substance. Muscular neck of sufficient length, firm through the backline, brisket of good depth, well sprung ribs with ribcage of good length and tail correct for both set and carriage. Feminine in head with good breadth of skull, eyes are placed well apart but they could be darker to enhance expression and pretty good skull to muzzle proportions but muzzle good have more width. She had pleasing breadth to chest and stands well naturally in front on correct feet. On the move, she is nice and straight when coming towards and goes pretty well when viewed in profile although would like to see more drive from the rear.

1. Myers’ Int/Nld/Bel Ch Paris De L'arche Des Loups Anges avec Optimus (Imp Fra). 6 yr old fawn who is totally sound and of excellent type. Feminine throughout, yet well boned, she is so good in outline with strong, muscular well arched neck, firm straight backline, first class ribbing, brisket of good depth, broad, well-muscled loins and tail spot on for length, set and carriage. Super head and expression; square skull with good breadth between her well set ears, medium-sized eyes of good colour and placement, pronounced stop, well developed cheeks, muzzle of correct length to balance and blunt and ‘cut-off’ as required. Correct angulation front and rear, straight forelegs, very good feet and with ample breadth to chest. Smooth, free action on the down and back and exhibiting power through the rear and a sense of quality in her carriage. CC. 

2. Connaughton’s Ch Reesley in It to Win It. 3 yr old fawn who is also full of quality and she very much appealed and was well handled here. There is no mistaking her gender yet she is well off for bone and substance. Very well balanced with well arched, muscular neck, firm topline, good depth to chest, ribs well sprung, powerful loin and tail pleased for length, set and carriage. Quality head; feminine yet with strength throughout, skull of good size, square as required and of good breadth, ears are set on wide and high, dark expressive eyes, correct stop, muzzle short and with width, well developed cheeks and very good pigmentation. She stands true in front on well arched feet and has pleasing breadth to chest. Moving out very well when viewed in profile but not quite as good as winner coming towards.

1. Downs’ Optimus Mulberry. Fawn coming up to 6 yrs. Feminine all through, with pleasing bone and substance and very well handled here. She pleased in outline with nicely arched neck of medium length, excellent topline, well sprung ribs which extend well back, good depth to brisket, muscular loin of good breadth, and tail pleased for set and carriage. She has width of skull, excellent eyes, ears are ok, muzzle is of correct length to balance but could use more width, correct dentition and very good pigmentation. Pleasing angulation front and rear, she stands nice and straight in front on super feet and has good width to chest. Moving freely on the go around and has drive from the rear.
