1. Thorman’s Namroht Beast From The East. 6 mth old cream rough who wasn’t entirely settled initially. Carrying good bone he presents a compact outline with pleasing neck, short firm back, ribcage of good length, short muscular loin and tail is set on high. Masculine head with broad, flat skull, ears are small and thick, expressive eyes of good colour, breadth to muzzle, scissor bite and very good oral pigmentation. He could stand tidier in front and this reflects when coming towards but he moves well when going away and went pretty well on the go around. Best Special Beginners.

1. Featherstone’s Jaysquares Bete Noire at Featherttor. 20 mth old black rough. Upstanding lad with good bone and substance. He pleased in outline with muscular neck of correct length, short level back, ribbing well sprung, good depth to chest, firm croup and tail set and carried as desired. Flat skull of good breadth, small thick ears of good set, eyes of good colour but could have a touch more size to advantage, broad muzzle, scissor bite and nice dark pigmentation. Pleasing angles both ends and standing on good feet. Moving freely all through but could put more effort into the proceedings. Good quality coat.

1. Markillie’s Kingrock Blue Steel for Vinstere. Rather varied class which saw this 2 yr old blue smooth come out on top. He is all male, solidly built and making the most of himself at all times. Excellent neck, firm backline, good depth to brisket, well sprung ribs, nice short loin and tail pleased for set and carriage. Pleasing headpiece with broad, flat skull, thick ears of correct set, excellent eyes, muzzle of correct length to balance, scissor bite and very good pigmentation. He stands well naturally on round, cat-like feet and has pleasing angulation both ends. Moving very well on the go around. Excellent coat. 

2. Hunt & Oliver’s Songshijia Chief Kwangchow JW. 3 yr old red rough who initially I thought would be my class winner. I thought him such a good type, he impressed for size and overall outline and carries good bone. Very good neck, short level back, very good ribbing, nice and short in the couplings and curled tail set on high. Masculine head with broad, flat skull, expressive eyes, small thick ears, good breadth to muzzle, correct dentition and very good pigmentation. Standing very untidy in front which cost him the class but he moved well on the go around and has very good carriage. Good quality coat.

3. Jolly’s Poppykins Solid Gold for Doolish

1. Ellis’ Bojinghai Fire Storm. This was another class which saw some very different dogs competing. My winner was this 5 yr old shaded red rough. He is well off for bone and was very good hands on. Slightly arched muscular neck, short level back, excellent ribbing, short loin and tail pleased for set and carriage. He has strength to head and a masculine expression; broad, flat skull, dark oval-shaped eyes, small thick ears of correct set, good breadth to muzzle, correct dentition and nice dark pigmentation all through. Please angles front and rear, he stands well naturally in front on very good feet and is nice and firm in the rear. Moving cleanly coming and going and in characteristic fashion for the breed on the go around. Profuse, off-standing coat. CC.

2. Irwing’s Ch Beaconpride Trick or Treat JW. 2 yr old red rough who is so very different to the winner but another who very much appealed and in fact, he was my BOB winner the last time I judged. Muscular neck with a touch more length to that of 1, short firm backline, well sprung ribs, good depth to chest, short in the couplings, firm croup and tail just right for both set and carriage. Most attractive head and expression; excellent skull, best of eyes and ears, moderate length to muzzle and broad all through, correct scissor bite and lovely pigmentation. I liked his length of leg and he has correct angulation front and rear and stands on super feet. Another who impressed on the go around, carries himself so well and was very well handled here. RCC.

3. Campbell’s Ir Ch Kuanyin Rogue Warrior

1. Thorman’s Peter Parker At Namroht. 7 yr old black rough who is all male. He has very good bone and is compact in outline with muscular neck of correct length to balance, firm backline, well sprung ribs and good length to ribcage, nice short loin and tail set on high. Masculine headpiece but a touch heavier than my preference; flat skull of good breadth, lovely clear eyes, ears set on well, broad muzzle of medium length, correct mouth and excellent pigmentation. He stands nice and straight in front and has super feet. Moving well enough all through. Very good texture to coat.

1. Bone’s Newfangled Jellybean. 14 mth old red rough, very well handled and an attentive show girl. Compact in outline with slightly arched neck, short level back, ribcage of good length, short muscular loin and curled tail set on high. Feminine headpiece with good breadth of skull, eyes of good colour, ears set on well, moderate length to her broad muzzle, good dentition and well pigmented. She stands true in front on excellent feet and when gaiting she moves in typical fashion on the go around and has a super, sound rear action. Good texture to coat.

1. Hunt & Oliver’s Nowitna Cee Your A Klassic at Kwangchow JW. This 2 yr old self red rough comfortably took this class for me. She is totally balanced with a strong, muscular neck, short level back, excellent length of leg, ribbing well sprung, nice short loin and tail set on high. Nicely proportioned head with flat skull of good breadth, dark eyes, ears are small and thick, dentition is good and she has excellent pigmentation. Her feet are compact and cat-like and on the move, she went very well on the go around with good carriage. Excellent coat. 

2. Richards’ Charids Star Bright. Shaded red of 19 mths who was blowing her coat on the day. She is well off for bone and stands on very good feet. Muscular neck, firm topline but rather long cast, well sprung ribbing and curled tail set on nice and high. Strongly headed girl with broad, flat skull, expressive eyes, ears set on well, moderate length to muzzle with good breadth, correct dentition and very well pigmented. She stands on very good feet and on the move she was parallel coming and going but couldn’t quite match the winner on the go around.

1. Baston’s Bojinghai Carrie Oakie at Tianjin. Three very different bitches challenged here with this 6 yr old black rough taking the class. Well off for bone and presenting a compact outline. Muscular neck, firm topline, ribbing well sprung, good depth to chest, nice short loin and curled tail set on high. She has breadth to her flat skull, expressive eyes, excellent ears, moderate length to muzzle, correct dentition and very good pigmentation. Pleasing angles both ends and standing true in front on cat-like feet. On the move, she pleased on the go around, is nice and straight coming towards and ok going away. Profuse off-standing coat. 

2. Godber’s Lechan Demelza. Fawn rough of 5 yrs who is feminine throughout. Balanced girl with slightly arched neck, firm through the topline, pleasing rib, muscular loin, good croup and tail set on high. When using her ears, she has a very nice expression; oval-shaped eyes, small thick ears of correct set, moderate length of muzzle, good dentition and correct pigmentation. When gaiting, she was very good when viewed in profile, ok going away but winner had the edge coming towards. 

3. Spanias’ Charids Queen of Hearts JW

OB (4,1)

1. McCallum’s Ch Falecea Gogo Yubari Burlesk JW. This was another class where some very different girls competed. This 2 yr old red rough was my winner and although not quite in full coat she very much appealed and I thought her so good for type and excelling in outline. Strong, slightly arched neck, short level back, good length of leg, ribbing carried well back, short in the couplings and curled tail set on well. She has strength of head but retains femininity; broad, flat skull, small thick ears which are of correct set, dark expressive eyes, moderate length to muzzle which is broad all through, scissor bite and nice dark pigmentation. Soundly built both front and rear, standing straight in front on excellent feet and gaiting freely, in characteristic fashion, and doing all that is asked of her and more. CC & BOB. 

2. Irwing’s Ch Beaconpride Sisudatu Raya JW. 5 yr old red rough out of a smaller mould than the winner but another who pleased and she was very good hands on and of excellent construction. Muscular neck, short level back, first class ribbing, nice short loin and curled tail set on high. Quality head, full of femininity, with a super expression; flat skull of good breadth, excellent eyes, small thick ears of correct placement, broad muzzle of correct length to balance, correct dentition and very good pigmentation. She is well-off for bone and presented in firm, hard condition. She stands just right in front on super feet and when gaiting, she pleased when coming and going and was very good on the go around too. Quality coat. RCC. 

3. Fisher’s Ch Poppykins Golden Nuggett

1. Campbell’s Ir Ch Kuanyin Shes A Rum'n. 7 yr old black smooth who was the best hands on in this class for me. Slightly arched, muscular neck, firm straight backline, well sprung ribbing, short loin, correct croup and curled tail set on nice and high. Feminine headpiece with good breadth to her flat skull, expressive eyes, ears set on well and thick as required, moderate length to muzzle, correct scissor bite and first class pigmentation. On the move, she went well enough all through and carries herself well. Good texture to coat. Well handled. Best Veteran.

2. Thorman’s Ragazza Crema From Namroht VW. 9 yr old cream rough. Balanced girl carrying good bone. Strong, slightly arched neck, short level back, good depth to chest, well sprung ribbing, muscular loin and tail set on well. She has strength to head but is still feminine in expression; good skull, eyes of good colour, ears are small and thick, broad muzzle all through and well pigmented. Standing on cat-like feet. Moving a touch closer behind and not overall action of 1. Good coat.
