Championship Show Sunday 18th October 2026
My interest and involvement in Chows began many years ago through my association and partnership with Mrs Sheila Vincent (Yama), who has played such an important part in my journey.
The only sadness of the day was that Sheila is no longer able to travel so could not be with me in person. Ever since I received my letter of appointment, she had been so looking forward to witnessing this special milestone, and it was a great shame that she could not be there to share the day.
I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the Committee and Officers for this wonderful appointment and to everyone for making it such a memorable and enjoyable day. I feel very privileged and grateful to have been given this opportunity and to have shared the occasion with you all.

2. Butler’s Newfangled By Design. 6 months. Black coat in good condition. Active and attentive. A Good expression from well-placed clean eyes and muzzle of moderate length. Well bodied. I preferred his movement going away.
Junior Dog 2
1. Bone and Markillie’s Newfangled Bukkee Burr. A stunning youngster with a most impressive head, clean, well-set eyes, a moderately broad muzzle to finish, and correctly placed ears. Good mouth. Short-coupled, compact and sturdy, with excellent substance and a well-set tail, correctly carried. Presented in superb coat and hard condition. A first-class mover, his stilted gait was impressive, particularly in the challenge, where, combined with his well-constructed outline, he demonstrated soundness and balance. Blessed with a lovely temperament, he fulfils a compelling breed-specific picture. In awarding him a very well-deserved CC, I had NO idea this would be his Champion Crown! BOS and Reserve BIS.
2. Green’s Southern Skies Shame on The Moon Among Jamarhys. Light Red. 16 months. Decidedly masculine he scores in head which contains dark oval eyes, full of intelligence and expression. Ears well set. Good mouth with blue/black tongue. Excellent pigmentation. Red coat just changing. A tad longer cast than 1. Super feet. He moves particularly well, demonstrating typical gait. Excellent temperament.

Open Dog 6,1
1. Irwings Ch Beaconpride Trick or Treat JW. 3 years old, and a dog I have admired since he was first campaigned. I can only add to the many accolades that have already been bestowed upon him, for he is undoubtedly a super example of the breed. Having won this highly competitive class, he appeared well placed for top honours. However, in an exceptionally strong challenge, on this particular day, he was not at his best on the move.
2. Fisher’s Shulian San Angelo Star At Poppykins JW. Shccx, OSW. 4 years. On top form and seriously challenged 1. He stands so well. Masculine and handsome I admired his head for proportions, flat skull and overall finish. Lovely thick ears and clean dark eyes full of expression. Well placed shoulders and sufficient neck. Open Smooth Dog 3
1. Campbell’s Ch/Irish/International Champion, Kuanyin Rogue Warrior. Black. 4 years old and really captured my attention. I appreciate the challenges Smooths face when competing against their more heavily coated and glamorous counterparts, as they are required to possess a short, dense outer coat with a definite undercoat without an obvious ruff or mane and no feathering on the legs or tail. In isolation I felt this dog clearly illustrates these essential attributes, including head qualities, clean eyes, and an excellent mouth. He is good for overall proportions, in muscular condition and not forgetting that captivating scowl! Sound and true both coming and going, producing relatively short strides, with the hind feet skimming the ground, beautifully demonstrating the required pendulum-like action when viewed from the side. Delighted to award him a well-deserved RCC and Best AOC.
2. Markillie’s Kingrock Blue Steel For Vinstere. 3 years. Well-proportioned and solidly built. Pleasing headpiece with a broad, flat skull. Neat, thick ears. Clean eyes. Muzzle of correct length. Scissor bite. Excellent neck, well-laid shoulders and firm backline. Moderate rear. Moved well.
3. Absolom’s Wengeordy Paddington Bear.
Baby Puppy Bitch 1
1. Sweeney’s Hjelme Isn’t She Lovely (Imp DNK). 19 weeks. Balanced skull being flat and broad, contains correctly placed dark appealing eyes. Super body for age. Held a secure topline with a high set tail. Moved very well and when settled was in harmony with her handler.
Minor Puppy Bitch 4,2
1. Copelands Bojinghai Proud Mary At Maxjabar. 7 month Red. Feminine in appearance with a very sweet head containing lovely dark eyes. Well assembled front, correctly bodied for age. Her tail is well set. Sympathetically handled. BPB & BOS Puppy.
2. Bone’s Newfangled All In. 6 months. Such a sweet baby, with a most beautiful head and expression. Combined with her young charge, the combination could not help but tug at the heartstrings. In abundant coat, she is well bodied, moved very well and was presented to perfection. Competently handled, the pair made a delightful picture and had my heart been allowed to rule my eyes, I would award this charming combination, First Class Honours!

Open Bitch 9.1
A truly wonderful class to judge.
1. Hollies and Carr’s Ch Jabrevia Dotty Dorris JW. Immediately impressive and instantly feminine. Excellent head and expression, with lovely eyes of correct shape and colour, and excellent pigment. Strong neck, well-laid shoulders and a clean front. Stands attentively on tight feet. Overall bone is in keeping with her size. Firm, secure topline, good ribbing and a correct underline. Tail set high, with well-developed quarters and strong hocks. Of superb disposition and temperament, she demonstrated herself to be an animated, confident showgirl, moving freely and decisively, with the correct short striding gait. Completely new to me, but on the day, she made a lasting impression. BCC & BOB.
2. McCullum’s Ch Falecea Go Go Yubau Burlesk. First judged her as a young puppy and admired her. Now 3 years she is nicely mature. A truly outstanding class of beautiful Veterans, brimming with quality, breed type and character. It was an absolute joy and privilege to judge such a wonderful collection of exhibits, each presented in exceptional condition and clearly cherished. The quality ran deep throughout, with the margins between placements so fine that I found myself splitting hairs at every turn. A class that was a genuine pleasure to judge, and one that reflects great credit on all the exhibitors. My warmest congratulations to everyone.
