Thank you all for my entry which was very much appreciated as it would have been a long journey for many of you. Thank you to both my Steward and Trainee Steward for their excellent support making it a most enjoyable day. I must also mention how much I enjoyed the company of Student Judge, Terrie Cousins-Brown and I wish her well in future appointments. It was pleasing to see that the majority of Aussies were well presented and in good clean coats. In the main, colours were strong, clear and rich, just as they should be, however it was sad to see that a few heads are losing breed type with overly short muzzles, deep stops and lack of width and depth in the back skull. Some small teeth were also in evidence. A few fronts were lacking in correct angulation, please understand that it’s one of the most difficult faults to improve in breeding. Shorter legs are also creeping into our breed which means some lacked overall balance and appeared to be longer in body than they are. This fault restricts free flowing reach and drive. Our breed standard is quite specific on body proportions. Movement, on the whole, was poor with few exhibits displaying the correct V coming and going. How can a dog twist and turn on a sixpence when both front and rear convergence is lacking. I hope my comments are considered to be constructive when considered in any breeding. I will say that I was very pleased with my top honours and wish them and everyone here today much success in the future.
VD (3-2) 1. Moves Like Jagger Elvikam of Dreamtale VW (Imp Pol) (Mrs H Roberts) An appealing B/Tri shown in good coat and condition. Masculine head with a moderate depth of skull, although a tad short in muzzle. Good reach of neck, clean bone, level topline and tight feet. Good muscle definition. Liked his overall balance and width. Easy side gait although a tad loose coming and going. Looking good for a 10 year old. BV.
MPD (1) 1. Intenzivni Zazitek Fallcat (Mrs J Knott) So much to like about this youngster. Already looks masculine. Full of breed type. Beautifully proportioned head, correct length of muzzle, ideal stop with good width to back skull. Lovely almond eyes, full of expression. So good to see an excellent reach of neck, blending into very correct shoulder placement. Good spring of ribs, level back, moderate tuck up, good set to croup. Good bone, feet and pasterns. A very promising young male who moved and settled well for 8 months Well presented and sympathetically handled. Will follow his progress with interest, he’s definitely one to watch. BP

Another youngster to keep an eye on. 2. Kellitcreed Hickory Dickory Dock (Mr J Beard) A pleasing smart youngster with a good head and reach of neck. Firm top line and good overall balance. Correct length of leg to height ratio, slightly longer than tall which is as it should be. Front needs to mature on. Good bone and width. Pleasing to see good pasterns and tight feet. Another beautifully presented in gleaming coat. Stood well, a typical Aussie outline. A slightly less exuberant handler might I’m sure, allow him to settle more on the move. Good lay of shoulders, spring of ribs, topline and correct moderate tuck-up. Good bone and tight feet. Beautifully presented in excellent coat. Stood well and moved well enough although a little loose coming and going today. However, he’s still a youngster and showing great promise. 2. Amenbury Phoenix of Fire at Shamiraland (Miss J Smart) This attractive 10 month old red/merle is very much at the in between growth stage and needs to mature on to attain his potential. This was reflected in his tension when standing and lack of balance, reach and drive on the move. Liked his clean masculine head and expression. Good oval bone and I noted nice length of pasterns and tight feet. Beautifully presented in excellent coat.

Liked his length of leg, topline and bone. Good topline on the move but needs to stretch out more on the move and another a little loose coming and going. 2. Amberslade Fire Cracker (Mr K A & Mrs D Middleton) Another B/Merle but of a slightly heavier type. Typical head and ear set. Correct length of muzzle to back skull with moderate stop. Good bone, tight feet and strong pasterns. A heavy coat spoiled her outline and was distracting. Easy mover. 2. Good reach of neck, strong back, well sprung ribs, good rear. Good bone, pasterns and feet. Movement lacked a little in reach but had good forward drive. 3. Feminine head but carried more than adequate stop for me at this age. Keen and alert expression, lovely crest and reach of neck. Good proportions throughout. Correct in bone, pasterns and feet. Strong pasterns. Shown in good coat but lacked presentation which was distracting. Moved well enough. 3. Sparkaway Grab A Granny Cpw26 (Miss T Cowley)
