Thank you to all the exhibitors who entered under me at this show. I thought the quality of the entry was good, although I do think movement was varied - as a HPR these dogs should be able to move well. I am grateful to the majority of exhibitors that took my placings with grace - thank you for being kind. I was a little disappointed with some of the reactions to my decisions by a small minority, but I nonetheless I thoroughly enjoyed my day judging your wonderful breed and can't thank you enough for your support. As an owner of Large Munsterlanders, this was always my second favourite breed and you really did make me feel welcome.

Thought this was a lovely first class to judge. I will say these boys were very close and on another day they could easily swap places.

1st 106 - Lindelaan Murleon (Mrs J A Hanley-Davis)

A nice boy who won this class on his free-flowing movement. A lovely medium-sized boy who presented a pleasing, balanced picture. He has a really attractive head with a kind expression, dark oval eyes and a slightly rounded skull. His ears were well set and of the correct length. I really liked his nicely arched neck which flowed into well-laid shoulders, with straight front legs, good bone and slightly sloping pasterns. His topline was level, and he had a good depth of chest. He was presented in a lovely, with plenty of feathering on his ears, legs and tail. For me in the dog challenge his movement showed off that free-striding, graceful gait which won him the award of Best Dog.

2nd 104 - Cadanbyrig Fire and Ice of Husdent (Mrs S & Mr T Gale)

Close up against the young lad in first, and I want to say how lovely he was handled, in such a polite and caring manner. Shown in lovely hard, muscular condition which you expect of this breed. He has the nicest of heads with correct proportions of muzzle to skull. Good earset with feathering, and a nice arched neck. He is balanced fore and aft, well bodied and has super thigh and second thigh, with good bend of stifle. Today I preferred the rear movement of the dog I placed first, but I am sure they could swap.

This boy was certainly full of life and gave his handler a bit of a challenge on the day! However, it was easy to see why he has enjoyed so much success internationally. He was a little erratic on the move at times, making him difficult to assess, but when he settled into his stride, he showed lovely reach and drive, with plenty of power coming from behind. He was beautifully presented in a lovely coat and had a really attractive head, with correct proportions giving him that lovely aristocratic appearance. I particularly liked his nicely arched neck flowing into well-placed shoulders. He was well ribbed back, with good depth of chest, strong, muscular loins and lovely tight feet. A quality boy with so much to like about him, and I was pleased to award him Reserve Best Dog once settled in the challenge.

1ST 105 - Cadanbyrig Khamsin of Husdent (Mrs S & Mr T Gale)

This pairing did so well at their first show, and I want the handler to know how well she did! Please keep going and keep at it. A lovely type to this girl of seven years, and still showing no signs of slowing down. Good balance fore and aft, even if a little excited on the move today, but for their first time, it’s easily forgiven! She has a lovely neck which leads into well-placed shoulders, good forechest which was easily visible in profile. Her chest has good depth and she is well ribbed, and she was presented in good condition. Well done. Best Special Beginner.

1ST 110 - Multi Ch Sarscottah Charizma Ir Jch Lux J Deu J W/jnr17 Ww17/18/20/21/23 (Ms S S Thomson)

There is something about this bitch that really captures your eye and like her kennel mate I can see exactly how she has done all her winning. She has a melting expression which is totally feminine, with super eye colour and shape, good chisselling and correct head proportions of muzzle to skull. She has good bone without being overdone, is well ribbed back with strong, muscular loins and well bent stifles. I particularly liked her on the move, where she showed a lovely long, free stride in profile, covering the ground with ease and grace. A very feminine, quality bitch with so much to like about her. Best Veteran.

2ND 102 - Sarscottah Cloudburst (Mr Cottam)

Another quality girl from this kennel but today I preferred the overall balance and outline of the winner. She has a nice balanced muzzle to skull length, nice dark eyes and good shape to them. Good feathering on the ears. She has a nicely arched neck which leads into well-placed shoulders, and is very attractively marked. She had good bone and tight feed, and is bodied well. She wasn’t as positive on the move today as the winner, but a lovely bitch who had great breed type.

1ST 114 - Caldera Evicka Grace at Lassemista (Mr D & Mrs A Wright)

A very eye-catching young lady. Plenty of time to develop as she is still very much a baby, there is plenty to like about her, and she has a nicely balanced shape. Her head is particularly feminine, with well-placed ears carrying attractive feathering. She has a lovely firm topline and good strength through her loins, but is still at that stage where she needs to develop a little more substance to complete the picture. She was a pleasure to watch in profile, moving with an easy, flowing stride. I would just like a little more bend of stifle and filling out, and her coat has yet to fully develop, but I feel she has a promising future ahead of her.

1ST 109 - Cadanbyrig Snow Dancer (Ms F C Smart)

A beautiful solid brown bitch who made a very pleasing picture, both standing and on the move. She has a lovely feminine head and expression, with a good length of neck leading into well-placed shoulders. Nicely made in front, with good bone, a slight slope to her pasterns and tidy, compact feet. She has a good depth of chest and was in fabulous muscular condition, with a strong, well-developed body and lovely width through her second thighs. I was particularly impressed with her movement, where she really came into her own, showing a lovely free, ground-covering stride while keeping her topline firm and level. A really super bitch who was beautifully handled and a pleasure to judge. Reserve Best Bitch.

1ST 103 - Sarscottah Flaming Heart (Mr N & Miss G Cottam & Verbruggen)

A very feminine young lady with a lovely balanced head and a really pleasing expression. She has a good length of neck, a straight front with plenty of substance and good depth of chest, with well-sprung ribs. She is developing nicely and certainly maturing in the right direction, but still has more time to reach her potential I feel. Her topline was firm and level, and she carried her tail nicely on the move. I would have liked to see her a little more positive and forward in her movement today, but there is plenty to like about her, and I feel she will continue to improve as she grows.

1ST 113 - Caldera Coral Dawn at Lassemista (Mr D & Mrs A Wright)

I have judged this lovely girl before, and she certainly didn't disappoint me this time either! She is a beautiful bitch who has so much to like about her, although I wouldn't want her any bigger. She has the most gorgeous head and expression, with that lovely aristocratic look which is so typical of the breed. Good shoulders, plenty of depth to her chest with a nice visible forechest, well ribbed back and good angulation behind. She has a lovely strong topline and gently sloping croup, and was turned out in fabulous condition, with a correct coat and furnishings. What I really love about this girl is how she moves. She just eats up the ground with such ease, showing that lovely free-striding, graceful and stylish movement. She really is built for a day's work and I could quite happily imagine her going all day without tiring. She holds her topline beautifully on the move and makes the whole thing look effortless. A really lovely girl who I thoroughly enjoyed judging again. Best Bitch and Best of Breed.

2ND 111 - Itl Ch/lux Ch/ir Sh Ch Sarscottah Eclipse/cw2526/w/w26 (Ms S S Thomson)

Another quality exhibit presented in impeccable condition. She has such a feminine look about her, but still has plenty of substance. I really liked her overall shape and balance, and she has a beautiful, typical head with a really kind expression. Her neck is of good length and flows nicely into her shoulders, and she has a lovely mature body with a firm, level topline. Good angulation behind with plenty of width to her thighs. There is so much to like about this girl, and she made a very pleasing picture standing. Unfortunately, I didn't feel she moved quite as well as my winner today, but still a very nice bitch who I enjoyed going over.
