First, thank you to the committee for the invitation to judge the breed. It has been quite a while since I last judged the breed, and I really enjoyed my day. Also thank you to the two ring stewards who kept the ring running like clockwork.

It was a breath of fresh air for me, the sporting way my awards were taken. I do feel breeders should watch the eye shape. The almond eye shows the expression of a Dobe so well, and I felt too many have round eye, which totally ruins the expression.

1st: 1264 GOODALL, Mrs Dawn & GOODALL, Mr Philip Mianna's Mississippi Stud

Very smart, super clean head, beautiful almond eye, excellent bite, good fill under the eye and correct ear set. Excellent topline, good tight front and rear. He was very sound, moving with style.

1st: 1248 WEBB, Mrs L M Shalissas Perfect Touch

10-month-old, another nice puppy who is maturing well. He had a lovely head and expression, he had a good body, with a deep chest and well boned front, well covered body and good angulation in front and rear. Smart on the move and stacked.

2nd: 1289 LITTLE, Ms Jennifer Grafmax Arthur Of Camelot

A larger type who lacked bone substance for me who was rangier. He had a good temperament and moved well.

Brown with rich tan markings. Deep chest that was very well made and moved well. He had a nice masculine head, excellent mouth and sound in front and rear. Excellent temperament looked smart on the move.

2nd: 1242 BLACK, Mrs Kelly Louise Rosebebe I Am Here At Marshdobes

His head is not as good as the winners and lacked bone. He was sound moving and well bodied.

Beautiful, impressive male. Lovely masculine head, excellent eye, good fill under the eye, excellent ear set and bite. Lovely depth of chest, beautiful topline. Well up on his cat feet. Excellent front and rear angulation. Sound moving and standing. Excellent body condition and temperament. Delighted to give him his 2nd CC, and hope the 3rd isn’t too far away. Exactly what I want in a Dobe.

Another impressive male of good type. Masculine head and excellent eye. Elegant neck, lovely fore chest, good depth of chest. Well angulated and excellent topline, good rear angulation and moved well. Push one hard for the class.

Another male who was in amazing condition. Excellent masculine head with the correct almond eye. Excellent fill under the eyes, good strong jaw and excellent bite. Lovely deep chest, excellent topline, super-rich tan and extremely well-muscled. Super sound, well made, heavy boned. Excellent tight feet, well up on toes. Pushed the brother hard for the CC.

2nd: 1243 BLACKBURN, Mr Lee Ch Knecht Little Richard JW ShCEx OSW

Another sound dog who was well made a heavier type male throughout, very sound on the move and very well made. Lovely masculine head and nice outline. Worthy champion.

8-year-old, in super condition for age, beautiful head and expression, very sound in movement and type and lovely on the stack and profile. The owner should be very proud to have kept this boy in such amazing condition.

I reversed my previous decisions in this class as it is on the handling ability of the exhibitor and not on the breed standard assessment.

2nd in JD the winner was better controlled than 2nd in this class. They did a good job getting the most of the dog.

1st in JD, there was a change of handler for this boy, and unfortunately, they were not able to get the best from him.

Very feminine girl with a beautiful, elegant head. Lovely dark almond eye, excellent fill under the eye, super bite. She drew my eye as soon as she came into the ring. Everything was in the right place. I had no hesitation in making her best puppy. Well-made throughout and very well presented. Moved very soundly, with style and elegance. She should have a wonderful future.

2nd: 1295 WEBB, Mrs L Shalissa's Vera Wang  

Close up to winner, narrower in front than winner. Much of the same applied, she just wasn’t quite as mature as the winner.

Brown with super rich tan markings. Well made, good head and sound, good feminine head, and ok neck. Lovely deep chest, good bone and nice angulation. Excellent temperament and moved well coming and going.

She had a good feminine head and moved well. Excellent topline and temperament, nice deep chest, excellent body condition, lovely temperament.

Another girl who was well made. She had a nice feminine head. Brown in colour who had good bone and topline. Moved soundly.

Another lovely girl. Black who had super bone, lovely head and well-made throughout, shown and handled well.

A stunning brown bitch who had a classic feminine head. Beautiful refinement, excellent almond eye, super bite and expression. Lovely, elegant neck, super deep chest and correct topline, very well made with super angulation front and rear moving out with style and holding a beautiful outline on the move and stack. I was pleased to learn this is her first CC and hope the others aren’t far away. She has breed type, temperament and showmanship. I have always appreciated the quality of this type.

2nd: 1290 TREGO, Miss Jo Lux Ch Amazon Breathless

Another stunning female, black in colour with a classic head. A lot of the winner’s quality applied to her who coincidently happens to be her litter sister! She was well made in super condition, very similar to one. I was very pleased to award her RCC behind the winner. Very consistent breeding.
