Russian Black Terrier 

I would like to thank the officers and committee for inviting me to judge this wonderful breed. Overall, I was impressed by the high standard of presentation, handling and the excellent condition of the dogs exhibited.

1ST Kerrigan’s - Kalaslane Nutty Irishman for Halaura NAF TAF 11 months old strongly made with a masculine head of correct proportions. Moderately broad, flat skull with correct parallel head planes. Excellent pigment throughout. Presents an almost square outline with the withers clearly marked above the topline. Standing correctly fore and aft, with strong rear and correctly stance set slightly wider behind than front. Ample chest development for his age, and well angulated fore and aft, with the correct set on of neck. Ribcage well sprung and well ribbed back. Coat of medium texture and overall presented to the highest standard. This youngster moved well in all aspects, and I am sure this quality dog has a very bright future ahead of him. Deservedly awarded him Reserve Best dog.

1ST Lynnyk’s - Zeus Black Legion (Imp Pol) 3 year old male who is imposing, strongly built. Masculine with moderately broad skull and correct head planes. Excellent pigment throughout. Almost square in outline with deep chest, well sprung ribcage that is well ribbed back. The angulations are correct fore and aft and withers are clearly marked. Stands well fore and aft, with correct width behind. His profile movement is balanced with good power behind, and has good reach, but front action could be more settled. As he is carrying a little excess weight for his size more conditioning may help with this. The coat is dense and of a medium texture. Well presented. Best Male.

2ND Clelford’s - Kenig Forein Blek Berkut (Imp Rus) Almost 5 years of age, this is another imposing and strongly built dog. Masculine through and through, with moderately broad skull and correct parallel planes and excellent pigment throughout. Clearly marked at withers with strong bone and a good depth of chest, well sprung ribcage which is well ribbed back. Powerful balanced profile movement front action could be a shade cleaner. Dense coat with medium texture. Well presented.

1ST Donnell’s Kalaslane Irish Eyes at Neukiebear (IKC). This feminine puppy is very together for her age. Almost 1 year old her head is feminine with the correct proportions; moderately broad flat skull and correct head planes. Presenting an almost square outline with the withers well marked above the topline and neck well placed. The chest is well let down and developed, good forechest, well sprung ribcage that is well ribbed back. Standing well fore and aft, the strong rear is correctly slightly wider than the front on the stack. Her movement is sound in all aspects, with good reach and drive with a high set tail. Coat of medium texture and well presented. A quality female who has a bright future and just pipped her little brother for Best Puppy.

2ND Lynnyk’s Legenda Zi Slavnogo Domu at Kawanami . 11-month-old, with head of good proportions; moderately broad skull and correct parallel planes. A different balance in outline to 1. Good depth of chest with well sprung ribcage, and good angulations fore and aft. Neck well placed, with the withers marked above the topline. Profile movement balanced and with reach and drive but needs to be a little steadier in all aspects on the move. Medium texture coat and well presented.

1ST Beale’s Dromnagus Hypnotic Poison at Larkharbour (IKC) 2 and a half year with moderately broad flat skull and parallel head planes. Almost square in outline and withers could be slightly more marked above topline. Sturdy, with heavy bone, with good depth of chest and well sprung ribcage which is well ribbed back. Stood well fore and aft with rear correctly placed slightly wider than front. Topline a little slack on the move and more drive behind would benefit. Medium texture coat and well-presented and handled well.

1ST Mercer’s Dromnagus Hit Me with Your Best Shot at Larkharbour . Feminine 2 and a half year old presented an almost square outline with marked withers above topline. Head of correct proportion, moderately broad flat skull with parallel head planes and excellent pigment throughout. Sturdy and strongly build in excellent body condition, her chest is well developed, well sprung ribcage that is well ribbed back. The excellent construction fore and aft is reflected in her overall balanced and sound movement. Medium texture coat which presented well. Reserve Best Bitch.

2ND Lynnyk’s Holodnaya Zhara Vivat Poltava (Imp Ukr) 5-year-old, feminine with head of good proportions, moderately broad skull with correct head planes. Almost square in outline with withers marked above topline. Good depth to chest and well sprung ribcage. A shade long in loin. More length to the neck would enhance her overall outline and balance. Moved okay, a little more strength would benefit. Medium texture coat that is well presented.

1ST Williams - Ir Ch Evrussky Black Widow (ai) A quality 3 year old who is feminine and presented a well-balanced and almost square outline. Head of correct proportions, moderately broad skull and correct parallel head planes. Excellent pigment throughout. Chest well let down with well sprung ribcage that is well ribbed back. Strong neck correctly placed with withers well marked above topline. Stands well fore and aft with strong rear legs correctly placed, wider than front legs. Well angulated fore and aft which reflects her ground covering profile movement and driving power behind. High set tail. The coat is dense and of a medium texture which is presented well. Best Bitch & BOB.

Veteran Bitch (2,0a)

1ST Williams - Proud of Being Ava Gardner at Evrussky (Imp Ukr) 8 year old who is feminine and shown in the best of condition. Feminine with moderately broad skull and correct parallel head planes. Excellent pigment throughout. Sturdy and heavy bone. Chest well let down, excellent forechest and angulations good fore and aft. Neck correctly placed and withers well marked above topline. Ribcage well sprung and well ribbed back. Moved with reach and driving power behind. Dense medium textured coat , presented well. Best Veteran and later went on to win Best Veteran in Group.

2ND Donnell’s Ir Ch Kalaslane Revenge for Neukiebear (IKC) ShCEx VW 8 year old who was also shown in the best of condition. Imposing female with heavy bone and strongly build. Head of correct proportions, with parallel head planes. Withers are well marked with chest well let down and ribcage well sprung and well ribbed back. High set tail and good angulations fore and aft. Moved well in profile, but I felt the heat was not helping her give her all on the move. Coat dense of medium texture and presented well.
