Norfolk & Norwich Canine Society

This was my first appointment judging Bullmastiffs to add to breeds that I have interest in that I judged. I was overwhelmed with the entries being a week show, so thank you to the exhibitors who enter their lovely dogs for me to put my hands over. I found the experience great making it an enjoyable day. 

Bullmastiff – 6 Entries

Puppy (1) 

1st REESLEY LET’S HAVE IT THEN PHORIA (Thomas & Bull’s) 11mth old fawn male just loved his mischievous character. His head is developing well, correct set dark eyes with dark markings giving an alert expression, correct high set ears, short black muzzle with a broad under-jaw, nose broad with widespread nostrils, well-filled cheeks, chest still in developing stage, well arched neck leading into sloping shoulders with muscles developing, short straight back, loins were wide and muscled with fair depth, correct well-set strong tail and good carriage, standing on powerful straight well boned forelegs that were set wide apart, second thighs developing well, strong hocks, feet were sprayed, correct coat, moved well once settled with a powerful thrusting rear action holding a firm backline. Handled and present well. Offers a nice compact dog. BP, WPG3

Special Yearling (3) 

1st SONG SUDAA (Turners) 21mth old fawn female with the most pleasing feminine head type. Her head is clean and square of good proportions with fair wrinkle when alert, dark correct set eyes with dark markings giving an alert expression, correct high set ears, black short muzzle blunt and cut off square with a broad under-jaw, nose broad with widely spreading nostrils, well-filled cheeks, wide deep chest that was well-let down with deep brisket, well arched round neck leading into sloping shoulders, short back, loins were wide with fair depth, correct well-set strong tail and good carriage, standing on straight well boned forelegs that were set wide apart, second thighs developing well, strong hocks, correct feet, compact, correct coat, muscles developing well, moved well and soundly holding a firm backline. Handled and present well. Compact and well together showing promise. RBOB

2nd OPTIMUS JOHNNIE WALKER (AI) (Downs & Myers) 20mth old fawn male compact and well-muscled with good substance. Head needs time to mature, dark correct set eyes with dark markings giving an kind expression, correct high set ears, black short muzzle blunt and cut off square with a broad under-jaw, nose broad with widespread nostrils, well-filled cheeks, wide deep chest that was well-let down with deep brisket, well arched round masculine neck leading into sloping shoulders, short back, loins were wide and muscled with fair depth, correct well-set strong tail and good carriage, standing on powerful straight well boned forelegs that were set wide apart, second thighs developing well, strong hocks, correct feet, correct coat. Handled and present well. He is short in upper arm causing him to work harder on the move although I can appreciate that he requires more time to come together.

1st PHORIA’S EDEN (Thomas & Bull’s) 4yr old fawn female who is substantial with excellent confirmation movement. More wrinkle on head then desired, nevertheless she excels with dark correct set eyes with dark markings giving an alert expression, correct high set ears, black short muzzle blunt and cut off square with a broad under-jaw, nose broad with widely spreading nostrils, well-filled cheeks, wide deep chest that was well-let down with deep brisket, well arched round muscular neck leading into sloping muscled shoulders, short back, loins were wide and muscled with fair depth, correct well-set strong tail and good carriage, standing on straight well boned muscled forelegs that were set wide apart, well-developed muscled second thighs, strong hocks, correct feet, correct coat, sound mover with a powerful thrusting rear action allowing her to move effortlessly with good ground covering holding a firm backline. In one with handler. A sassy show girl who is fit for purpose. BOB
